  1. I agree there... and besides, a Super Bowl also requires many many many hotel rooms... Jax actually had a problem with that, having to use cruise ships. I'd rather see a state of the art open-air stadium. Of course, I would also like to see an economic Renaissance in WNY.
  2. The major question about a longer season is how it will require teams to have more serious depth. As it is, getting through 16 games without some major player getting hurt is hard; add two weeks and you can pretty much guarantee that you will lose someone sometime. One also wonders if a longer season will also include a bye week... or more playoff rounds... which would push the Super Bowl beyond Lincon's birthday.
  3. I don't want to say anything about VY personally, but I do wonder how much a case like this is indeed a reflection of what happens when young athletes have their lives smoothed out for them by others since the first time they showed athletic promise. Although many of them are able to figure things out, we see so many examples of how these guys have no sense of what it means to be an adult until they run into serious problems.
  4. Exactly so. Either way, it is clear that no amount of "manning up" will heal knee ligaments.
  5. Nice research there! Although one would expect nothing less...
  6. True, he even had it written phonetically in his notes: "Eesh been ayn Beerleener." That part is true. Carry on!
  7. Or mass outbreak of crippling projectile dysentery? Or hoodie-addicted flesh-eating bacteria?
  8. Good point, but I could imagine 1,000 or so no-shows on a rainy day. I tend to agree with one of the other posters about some confusion about the stadium capacity. Navigating that ESPN link, checking out other years, does not fill one with confidence about their accuracy.
  9. Probably no-shows account for the difference. Tickets sold is not always the same as people who go through the turnstiles.
  10. You guys realize that story is totally apocryphal, right? No one in Berlin ever thought JFK said he was a jelly doughnut. They only call jelly doughnuts "Berliner" outside of Berlin... PM me and I'll send you some bibliographical references explaining it. [/history nerd] Allerdings, viel Spaß in Berlin, Whites Bay!
  11. You missed the two threads during the game....
  12. Slashing through the line...
  13. No, they just wander "non-shilontly" around the Internet making stuff up.
  14. Oh man... you don't need to tell me to worry about the future. That's all I do. I can imagine all sorts of terrible things, many of which will likely happen. Truth is, the Bills will probably not win the super bowl this year. Probably never will. Ever. And all of us will die someday, many of us in horrible ways. Oh, and by the way, the world is hurtling toward hell in a handbasket made of idiocy and irresponsibility leavened with evil. That of course is why it is more fun to dance around a bit after a football game where one's team has won. If it makes you happy to play emotional traffic cop, then go right ahead. All of us (and despite my lame attempt at humor, I still embrace you as a fellow Bills fan no matter what) will still be happy together when the Bills win, and be gloomy together when they lose. Have a great week, and here's hoping that next Monday we will still have people worrying about others being too happy because the team just won another game.
  15. Not true at all... just having fun... though if you like I will flame you for being a smug, humor-challenged douche. Enjoy the win, man... we all know there is a long way to go, and disappointment lurks around every corner. We're Bills fans, for Gawd's sake!
  16. Great Caesar's Ghost! (As a true newspaperman would say). What the hell kind of writers do they have there? Do they read? Non-shilontly? Not even a freaking word! *frantically scribbling with my red pen*
  17. Hey, you guys having a party? Where's the punch bowl? Hold on a sec... let me drop trou and add something to it. Ahhhh... much better. There, doesn't that just smell like realism? [/killjoy]
  18. It sure was, and that last block was a thing of beauty, cutting off the last guy with a legitimate shot at a tackle...
  19. Excellent point... of course, they played so well on Sunday because last year's 1, 2, and 3 picks (Marshawn, Poz, Edwards) led the way....
  20. Another great list, Bill. This was such a fun afternoon, no? My only regret is that Lynch was one step out of bounds away from breaking a 97-yard TD run. We'll get 'em next time! Go Bills!!!
  21. Yes. And a W is a W.
  22. Nanker... how many points did Edwards' rating jump on that one throw?
  23. Ryan Denney!! Ryan Denney!! [/Rick Jeanneret... ] Too bad I lost the internet feed...
  24. Surrender Dorothy! Wait... what?
