  1. He might just want to get paid to be kickin' it on South Beach. Dolphins should be careful about that.
  2. I agree completely, but I also think that Del Rio is something of a knucklehead, considering the stories of him making players wear dark jerseys and forgoing cool machines in order to be "tough."
  3. Anybody else wonder if some intern at NFL headquarters trolls boards like this looking for such links? (Not saying that you are doing that, Surf, you are a vet around here. Your message just made me wonder about the lengths the league is prepared to go to in enforcing their copyright....)
  4. I guess Del Rio is showing his priorities. He knows that a loss to BUF, while bringing criticism, is a risk worth taking compared to the chance to beat Indy, which would put the Jags right back in everybody's playoff picks.
  5. Because riding a bottle is very uncomfortable and dangerous. Seriously, put the best five players on the field. I feel bad for chambers, but also feel good knowing that he has had such good seasoning as a potential backup for either OT.
  6. But... Ralph is an evil skinflint who is trying to drive fans away and loves nothing better than to rip players off.... Just like the song they teach at TSW Sunday school: "Ralph's a cheapskate, this i know, 'Cause TSW tells me so..."
  7. I feel for Golden, and give him credit for staying on the field to wait and congratulate Gill. Great win for UB, and I am pleased to see Temple playing better as well.
  8. Although I never predict victories, I am frankly astonished that both WNY papers pick the Jags to win. I ask you this: if the Bills were missing both starting guards and the center, would anyone be picking them to win a game against anybody?
  9. I am bumping this thread just to make sure that others see the name Willy and the Bulls...
  10. Isn't that what cheerleaders are for? (Oh come on, don't tell me you weren't thinking that too... )
  11. OK John McCargo, here is your chance....
  12. Not sure what Curs does.... but Coors probably has to pay the producer of the video. Whether they pay the coaches is a good question. As public figures there are free-use issues, but my guess is they have to pay the coaches something, since even a public figure cannot be used to hawk a product without his consent. Now that I think of it, Coors had to pay the John Wayne estate to use old John Wayne footage in those commercials they ran a few years back.
  13. Awesome links... I remember listening to many of these calls... great stuff!
  14. I think you are wrong, but are entitled to your opinion. The recent back and forth about his surgery leads me to believe that the doctors think this will me much more than a 1-4 week recovery, a number which was based on a media report with no medical foundation.
  15. You mean like JP did in consecutive weeks in 2006 against the Texans and Jags? I kid, I kid.... but the larger point is the key is just winning. It is hard to say in advance which win will "make" a player or a team. They just need to keep being steady and doing what it takes....
  16. I do... from 1975. ESPN classic showed it on their NFL game of the week sometime last year. I wanted to throw up all over again...
  17. I did not see that as his point. The point is that, even with his admittedly strong arm, JP was not exactly flinging it around all the time for deep balls. Truth is, it is quite rare for a QB to throw a ball 50 yards in the air very often, and it is generally a low-percentage throw. It is cool when they do it, but it is more important that they have the arm strength and accuracy to hit the 20-yard out, or fit the ball into a tight window across the middle. That was where JP has had problems, and it is where TE looks to have more promise.
  18. It was very cool, wasn't it? I love the memories, even if they are bittersweet... I remember seeing that Saban clip "God Almighty!" in an old NFL films compilation... seeing it in context was even better!
  19. Just found this on YouTube... the 1974 Bills. It includes both the classic voice of Rick Azar and, even better, some classic Lou Saban audio.... Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_0wGYt_4Ck
  20. Lori, you are rarely wrong on anything, and on this point you are absolutely right. Furlong must be quite the tool, since he has mastered both the sovereign "I don't care what you think" attitude displayed in his original response and the "Even when I was wrong I will still act as though I am the only mature person" snottiness in his backtrack. Too many managers confuse arrogance with confidence, which reflects a deeper insecurity. That's not the kind of change we can believe in.
  21. Triple-G don't scare me. Triple-T would be another story.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzToNo7A-94
