I think to fairly and honestly make a coaching assessment, you look at his whole body of work. Not just cherry pick a few random hindsight calls, from late in the game.

And just how many hundreds of play calls has he gotten correct, in your eyes? THAT'S MY POINT. For the smattering of questionable ones, he's made MANY great calls and decisions. And again, ALL coaches make questionable calls. You're expecting 100% perfection, 100% of the time, which is completely unreasonable. I'm not confused in the slightest. You're just ridiculously unreasonable in your assessment.

I preface this to say I don’t want this scenario, but…. Wouldnt it be wild if we beat Burrow, then Lamar, then Mahomes?

No matter what you say or whatever McD stat you post, some fans will want him gone until he wins a Super Bowl yearly. We have a FANTASTIC coach, and most either don't see it, or don't appreciate it. All they can see is a handful of hindsight playcalls, in the heat of the moment. Most need 100% perfection out of our head coach. Super bowls yearly.

Jets are a thing. Holy cow. WHAT a mess they are. Dolphins too. QB purgatory with a mid qb. Wacky coach. Pats are the only ones with promise, with Maye, but who the hell will be their coach? We're in the playoffs until Allen retires.

You're absolutely picking and choosing your stats. ALL coaches make calls. Some are great calls. Some questionable in hindsight. McD is a coach. Therefore, McD will make calls. Some are great calls. Some are questionable in hindsight. What gets forgotten WAY too easily is his record while being here. Argue all you want about having Allen, and sure, it's a HUGE reason. But you will absolutely chop your nose off to spite your face getting rid of him and starting over. Starting over isn't just plug and play. A whole new coaching staff will be brought in. New systems. New players. A new coach would be a HUGE set back in my opinion. (I do see you're not advocating for this however).

I see nothing critiquing the play of the personnel, the personnel itself, schedule, injuries, weather, luck, or anything OTHER than the head coach. You do realize there are many, many moving parts here, right? The team is 13-3 and just won 40-14. We could do a LOT worse with Ron Rivera. May not want to cut nose off just yet. 🙄

My original posting was about the Pats game and why he was quiet. In my opinion, which is confirmed by josh and Sean, is that they’re keeping a lower profile. And why wouldn’t they? They have a great opportunity with cooper to do so. Enough arguing. It’s nice outside.

They need wins. Recall cooper was injured as well. The game against Pats was importantly, just not vital. 1 seed was likely a pipe dream. I see why things were vanilla. And both coach and qb confirmed, whether you take their word or not. So you stated earlier that you basically go balls out for every game. Do you think that occurs tomorrow and next Sunday? Cmon man. The Bills should keep playbook closed as much as possible.

Exactly. There is a reason the offense was vanilla. Yes you’re inserting it. You’re arguing w me about something and adding/embellishing your argument as you go. You don’t bring in a shiny new toy mid season just to show the elite teams precisely how you’re going to use him. And you CERTAINLY don’t do it in the midst of the playoffs. Why do you think the Lions were criticized for there unnecessarily blowing teams out? They were showing their hand, that’s why. This is NFL 101. I can assure you that you will see a large dose of Cooper in the playoffs, along with things not yet revealed.

Not if you’re trying to NOT show off your weapons, especially at the ramp up of playoffs. There’s another level of strategy you’re forgetting or unaware of, especially when clinched. Hell, Allen even said it and McD eluded to it. Why show off your 4 of a kind right off the bat if the other guy has a pair? Basic teams do that.

Very possible. but we’ve seen him make some amazing, contested catches. perhaps it’s playoff related and a vanilla-ing of the offense for now? Or that’s just absurd logic?
