  1. When moore was in Dallas he butted heads first with garrett and then with mccarthy over the fact that he was too creative and did not stick to running more basic plays in big situations. That is why he wanted out a few years ago of Dallas.
  2. Baltimore's M.O. is to blow people out at home. Is it going to happen again today? If the eagles do not get a stop here it sure feels like it. The folks in washington D.C. Must be pretty excited.
  3. Have to think there is a suspension for this. The league pretends to care about player health but at some point they have to actually care.
  4. Man jax is going to make the division up for grabs between the colts and texans.
  5. Yea I think this is one of those unspoken rules... like, Never get hurt during the game at the same time that the star player does because the doctors will be helping the other guy and never get engaged on the same day as said star qb.
  6. well imo the league as a whole was better, better coaches more physical game that was tied to the old game, again because of the coaches and player mindset. Yea Man Flacco won a super bowl in 2012 but umm I meant more in that they had some all timers on defense and were an extremely physical team. I mean ed Reed and ray lewis are two of the leagues all time players, and then you add in Terrell Suggs and Willie anderson. If you want to associate that team with Flacco that is fine. He won a super bowl which was enough to get a slightly above average player like Joe namth into the HOF. Thinking more Mcnair, kerry collins vince young era titans. The one that seemingly couldnt beat baltimore, pitt or new england in the playoffs. Those were tough physical teams. I guess the tannehill teams were pretty good too. and yea the chargers were loaded with talent for years and couldn't beat the pats in the playoffs it seemed every year. Brees and Rivers. Tomlinson etc. Tough physical teams under marty with a pretty great coaching staff and then norv turners teams were very good too. nobody could beat the pats it seemed in the afc. Then there is the nfc which imo was better then also. anyway. this is a boring discussion.
  7. Baltimore, the titans and Rivers chargers teams were very good. I would say very good to be honest.
  8. To this day no one ever talks about it because the video is not out there but in 1992, Dallas at Washington (RFK Stadium) the redskins were fighting for there life in a december matchup. fourth quarter Dallas gets a late fourth down stop at like the 5. Then Aikman drops back and goes to throw and fumbles, its the identical play to the Brady tuck rule play, its ruled a fumble and the skins recover, then win the game and lose in the playoffs. Dallas never lost again and jimmy johnson didn't allow the team to be served dinner on the plane because he was disgusted and wanted the team to be as disgusted as he was with the loss. anyway, When they called that tuck rule I always remembered that Dallas game and how it was a fumble for Aikman. no question. KC's defense might smother both of them if they can stop the run like they usually do though. They were not very good against the run today but something tells me vs houston and pittsburgh they will be much better here in a few weeks because it will be the key to stopping both offenses.
  9. even better, what if they built the leagues first underground stadium? Right under the falls. Think of the views.
  10. Great. If they get bounced in the divisional round it will be fantastic. If they are as bad as what I am reading here they should lose at home in the divisional round by 7 ore more. My question I guess is which team is going to do that to them exactly? As we sit today a bills chiefs divisional round matchup is highly unlikely. I will agree on this, if baltimore played KC next week I would think Baltimore wins the game for sure. Just like I did in january. lets say the chiefs get the 1 and the bills get the 2, Ravens 3 and houston 4. then lets say Pittsburgh, Denver and LA go 5, 6, 7. Then lets say Bills over Chargers in a tight game, Baltimore over Denver in a tight game and Pittsbugh over houston in a tight game. Are the steelers and their anemic offense going to KC and winning in the divisional round? or say houston wins, is houston going to KC in the divisional round and winning with their pass protection issues? They can play excellent defense like pittsburgh but can they make the clutch timely plays at KC to win? What you guys are telling me is that KC is going to lose at home to one of these other flawed teams. This is why the 1 seed is so important to buffalo, IMO, avoiding Baltimore in round 2 and playing the Chiefs at home if they both get to the championship game. Until I see different the only teams I see as able to stand in there and beat the chiefs at KC is Buffalo and Baltimore and the addendum to that is Lamar Jackson is 1-4 vs KC and that one win is a week 1 to start the 2021 season. anyway. We all hope the chiefs lose and the bills get the 1 seed.
  11. it was so bad if NFL Films and Jon facenda were still a thing they would have a really cool slow mo shot of the chiefs recovering the fumble with a tremendous soundbite and it would have a historic name already for its amazing ineptitude.
  12. this reads like in 6 weeks there will be a new column for almost. also it reads like you think I am happy KC is winning or something. If Andy reid and I were on a cliff, I would push him and then taunt him during his descent. so that should make my position clear.
  13. fine I give up. The chiefs suck, its all a conspiracy for the worlds biggest pop star to sell more records and her new epiphone guitars. plus I think the CIA is using some of that high tech weather equipment the gov'ment has to alter the trajectory of opposing kickers kick to ensure said conspiracy. oh and they are beating bad teams this month or something. Will this get the replies to stop?
  14. so view that from the potential negative outcome there. say they go on fourth down while they are having all kinds of issues pass protecting and get stuffed like they did earlier in the game. now the raiders have the ball at the 44 instead of their 8. Punting led them to have drive the ball into fg range with no timeouts and then successfully execute a field goal when they have already missed 3 on the day. At home believing in his defense is punting a sound fundamental decision or is taking an unnecessary risk and going for it on fourth down the sound approach? think hard on that and then when you get to the answer ask yourself the question, Does KC beat people playing fundamentally sound football?
  15. that is fine, that is what we are here to do discuss our football opinions. I certainly agree with you there tackles stink. They weren't great last year however and they will no doubt find a way to manage it in the playoffs. I sure hope they do not get out of the first round that would be amazing.
  16. or the chiefs didn't commit any back breaking penalties on that final drive, for instance something like Karlaftis blasting oconnell after a pass giving them 15 extra yards and stopping the clock allowing them to get set and kick a field goal 0r run another play etc. Instead the raiders had to be perfect. They had to go down and run their two minute drill perfectly then leave enough time for their kicker to have a shot. then they need to execute the kick. KC puts so much pressure on other teams to be perfect because you know going in they will not beat themselves and if you do not believe me then go back and search this thread for all the posts (myself included) about how the game felt over when the raiders missed their second field goal attempt. IF yo make mistakes you lose because they will not.
  17. what you just described as flukey bs...is the chiefs playing the game fundamentally sound and not making back breaking mistakes. know why the bills beat them last week, it's because they can play the fundamentally sound brand of football and have a unicorn at qb just like KC. I sure as hell hope they lose 3 of 5 to finish the season but again it's highly unlikely.
  18. this statement doesn't deserve a response honestly. If you are not aware of why the chiefs keep winning I can't teach it to you.
  19. Did you miss last season? They were clearly inferior to Baltimore and SF.
  20. But the chiefs just did this last year? They didn't beat any good teams in the regular season last year off the top of my head then they won in buffalo and in baltimore and a super bowl. what do the steelers have to do with anything? There identity is losing playoff games, the polar opposite of KC.
  21. so three missed field goals, getting stuffed on 4th and 1 and committing repeated pass interference penalties to extend drives for KC is fundamentally sound football? Ok then.
  22. yes i understand that. They already beat denver and LA once this year so what makes it so improbably they would beat them again? There is no column in the standings labeled "Almost". Wins, Loss and Ties. That is all their is. and the golden rule is, It's not HOW it's How many. for the chiefs it currently is 11
  23. well I think they do and do not care about point spreads. They have to play two nfc west teams fighting to win the division and then the nfc's best team at detroit. I think that is a very hard 3 game stretch.
  24. no. I think buffalo running the table in the regular season is a big ask and if they don't and they lose one they then need the chiefs to lose 2. That scenario is highly unlikely.
  25. well winning out is of course possible but they have 3 very difficult games in a row he starting sunday. Obviously I hope they do its just a really tough ask.
