  1. yea I don't think they want a team they just moved to Las Vegas to be ditching star players during the season. In the offseason sure but not during the season. I am still surprised they just moved Carr.
  2. Players are always frustrated, especially wr. I imagine on Wednesday when he talks to the media he will apologize in some way for taking attention away from the team and putting it on him. I cant imagine any scenario where the raiders trade him. The raiders just built the stadium and moved to stupid las vegas....I can't imagine the league wants them to have a fire sale on halloween.
  3. This is interesting if true regarding sweat. A 3rd rounder that becomes a 2 if he is extended is a good way to make a deal. If you don't extend him you probably get a 3rd round compensatory pick for him in 25 anyway. I imagine this type of thing could be used for Johnson also. https://x.com/BenStandig/status/1718967487755063783?s=20
  4. Washington can keep him and let him walk next year and get a 3rd round compensatory pick in 25 I believe. So I imagine he takes more than a 3. The Bills could get creative and make some kind of large move though, Elam a 2 and a 2025 4 for Fuller and Sweat.....or something like that. Washington gets a replacement for fuller leaving and high compensation for guys they are not going to resign. This will never happen however.
  5. Joe Buscaglia has a nice article on the athletic about potential trade targets. His DT options are intriguing. Teair tart and John Jenkins. He seems to think a lot higher than I do about Kenall fuller though. https://theathletic.com/5014080/2023/10/30/nfl-trade-deadline-buffalo-bills/
  6. I would just like to Add on Jaylon Johnson. Spotrac's potential salary for him is 3 years 23.3 mllion with an avg salary of 7.7 million. I imagine this is the hold up with the bears and a contract. He probably sees himself as Jalen Ramsey and his comps according to spotrac are taron johnson, jordan lewis, charvarious ward...etc....This must be the issue. also a few more things, Seattle sending a 2nd round pick to NY while NY ate the salary on Williams may not be an accurate estimate on compensation. Johnson is younger and less expensive. That seattle pick will end up being a late 2 as would buffalo, Dallas or SF's 2. The bears may ask for a 1 for johnson. I wouldn't want to be competing in this type of situation with SF, I do not think Dallas would even consider a 1 however. The difference with buffalo is they could send elam. Elam and johnson are essentially the same size and elam has years left on his deal and could step in and get a fresh start under imo a very good defensive coach in Eberflus. So maybe Elam and a 3 could be an option if no one else goes higher than a 2. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/jaylon-johnson-47645/market-value/
  7. Its too soon. We know who teams are when we get to turkey day as Bill Parcells always liked to say. The season starts there for the contenders.
  8. None of those guys are available except johnson
  9. Its bad business to ever trade a first. If it is not for quarterback or a once a generation type player (aaron Donald ish) imo you should never ever do it. I feel like the market has been set for above average defensive players with expiring contracts with Williams. So that would mean a 2024 2nd and a 2025 5th. The bills have two 3rds so moving the second though hard to swallow would be justifiable in this case. The bigger question is do you want to give a player a big time deal that you do not even know? That can upset the locker room. An outsider coming in and getting big money. The fact that he is a corner is another iffy thing to me. Guys that far away from the ball, you have to think twice about paying them these huge deals. You can always justify it for a player that plays on the line of scrimmage or a quarterback. Its just hard to do for a corner imo. Even the great ones are up and down. Matt Eberflus Bears defense asks the corners to jam at the line of scrimmage. He has a varied background having come up with Rob Ryan and then Rod marinelli. So jamming at the line of scrimmage and forcing guys inside is priority one. Johnson fits that mold with long arms and he is strong. I imagine he would fit right in with this defense. Having heard that SF is involved that makes me think this may get pushed to a first round pick. They are going for it 100% right now (Buffalo is to right?) and they seem to overpay if they want something and are not afraid to bring guys in and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Having said all that, this team needs help up front IMO, but there is no one who is going to trade the big guys inside at this point so getting a corner who can play the upper level wr and slow them down is the next best thing. A 2nd round pick wouldn't break the back of the Bills but it will be tough to swallow on Draft day when there are needs.
  10. I still think the only real option at corner is adoree Jackson. He is good not great, has an expiring contract and plays inside and outside. Probably get him for a 5th or 6th round pick. He would be active every week and help the team.
  11. jordan shultz said washington is trying to find a team to trade Montez Sweat and/or Chase Young. I wouldn't be suprised if sweat goes to KC and Young to SF
  12. ok then. Calling tyrod taylor the best anything is just too much for me. Enjoy your day.
  13. yea I am aware of the difference. There is no defense on earth that is so good you can attempt a pass. There is no reason they could not try something short and quick, A slant, a dig or an arrow route that is basically three steps and throw it. I think there concern was pass protection and devito holding onto the ball. Either way it was the most absurd thing ever and daboll is now going to be viewed differently in New York. He is going to have to pull off a miracle win over Dallas or Philly to get back some of that good faith he had.
  14. Yes but he is still a good player and can play inside and outside. He would help the bills and he will not command a lot in return. The giants have players to replace him also.
  15. Jeff George
  16. I don't see how they stop the bengals running game. Without stopping that they have zero chance of slowing down the passing offense. Sadly it seems the bengals can run dives and draws and just run at will with the current state of the middle of the defense. This just feels like a week this team is going to have to take its medicine and then forget about it and move on.
  17. send him to ny for adoree jackson works for me. If the bills are convinced he can not play and they are 100% staying with this head coach/defense next year then swap him for someone who can help. Jackson is not great but he is good and he can help this football team.
  18. not going for the 4th down feels like the move that has turned the fan base and the media on Daboll. That second half offense was one of the most cowardly things I have ever seen in the nfl. Not even allowing a pass attempt after devito's first play. Tommy Devito looked very good in the preseason, there was no reason not to even attempt to throw the ball. anyway, Daboll + Schoen have lost all the good faith they had built up from last year.
  19. I had multiple people here tell me I must not watch football if I think the bengals are good. The bills do not have the horses to slow down that offense. They are going to have to win a 38-35 game. Doesn't feel like they are built to do that right now. It feels like the game sunday will be a worse version of the playoff game last year. They have to go get help for this defense today or tomorrow, they just have to
  20. i would just for the hell of it call the rams and ask about kupp and donald
  21. would be nice for the bengals to lose and the locker room to start grumbling. Would be a great weekend if the chiefs, dolphins and Bengals all lost I dont care as much about the ravens yet because I still feel like no matter their record...when we hit december they will have some issue that derails them...it seems they always do.
  22. This team two years ago had three head coaching level coaches on the staff. For some reason they now only have one. Why you would not want as much experience as possible when you have a team ready to compete for a championship I will never understand. Teams that win and all the great coaches have always had great and/or experienced coaches on their staffs.
  23. OMG did he actually say this during the game. The producer and/or engineer should have immediately gone to 30 minutes of dead air. that is really bad.
  24. well if not for the facemask that is exactly what they had
  25. Exactly. Without mahomes reid is just a really good regular season coach. It was always something for reid's teams in the playoffs before Mahomes. My personal favorite was the loss to the panthers in 03 where Philly had every advantage and made the championship on a miracle 4th down play at GB. Then they got manhandled at home. The difference between those teams and the chiefs is Mahomes. I could have sworn the actual facemask was after the whistle had blown. Doesn't matter though. It was just coincidental that his hand hit the mask there.
