Kyle Brandt picks the Bills to win the SB
90sBills replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would only be breaking news if he DOESN’T pick the Bills. -
Maybe. But let’s enjoy the next 10 days crapping on them.
-
They’re not sniffing the #1 seed with this group of receivers. Might not even make the playoffs. 😁
-
I think he was so frustrated he just said f*** it 😂
-
Richie James So…football?
-
He definitely ended up in the best spot possible. With a coach that enhanced his natural abilities to maximize potential. Remember, though, the Chiefs were great in the regular season but always flamed out in the playoffs. They blew multiple #1 and #2 seeds opportunities, including one with Reid. They won 1 playoff game in 30yrs and that was with Reid/Alex Smith. Mahomes was the missing piece that took them over the top. Elite qbs and coaches are judged by playoffs success. They have the perfect combination right now.

No other franchise have Mahomes. Master chef at making chicken salad out of chicken *****.
-
I’ve seen quite a few posts on here completely disregarding KC like they haven’t been a major obstacle. I get what you’re saying about matchups. To me there’s something about not being able to beat a team when it really counts. Especially when Allen played a near perfect game. I was hoping for the afc championship rematch that never materialized last year for redemption. Let’s face it no matter how the Bills perform in the regular season they’re only going to be judged in the postseason. As it should be for any top tier team.
-
The over is a virtual lock. KC can score against anybody as long as Mahomes is pulling the trigger. Lions defense was bad last year. With CJ out for KC Goff should have plenty of time to work with. He’s terrible when pressured. I see this thing going back and forth with Detroit eventually not keeping up.
-
What’s also unproven is beating the Chiefs in the playoffs. Yeah coaching blunders yada yada. Fact remains 0-2 in the playoffs against that team. Until that changes they are still the biggest threat imo. Oh btw they beat those dreaded Bengals in the AFC Championship game last year. Not sure if some people know that around here. They seem to talk about the Bengals like they’re the defending champs. Smh.
-
Definitely. Also the loss of their safeties will have a bigger impact than most realized.
-
Bengals won’t win their division and might miss the playoffs completely this year.
-
Allen throwing passes to their guys didn’t help.

I am probably one of the few on here that can admit Mahomes is the best qb in the NFL right now. And the Chiefs have moved on from that 13 sec game and won another Super Bowl. With that said why are you on a Bills forum touting your guy over our guy in a game that obviously most Bills fans considered the team’s best chance at a championship? Why would you need to contest something like this when you’re part of a fanbase that’s sitting on 2 championships in the last five years? Seems kinda trivial don’t you think?
-
I know exactly what you mean. Always thought that line of thinking is nuts.
-
Isn’t the point of playing is to win? Wether by 1 or 50 it’s still a win. Chiefs are not unbeatable in this parity league but Mahomes seem to have that it factor that Brady had to find a way to win.
-
This is where I’m at with offensive talent around Allen. Diggs is a true #1. Allen has to make the others viable. How many KC receivers look like all pro with Mahomes then flopped when they go elsewhere? Hill is the only successful KC receiver after leaving for another team. Allen is very much capable of making mediocre receivers better. Hopefully we’ll see more of it this season.

All-Pro DT Chris Jones not at Chiefs Mandatory Minicamp
90sBills replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh I agree. He’s an elite player who’s a vital center piece to KC’s defense. He’s also turning 30 this year and DTs’ productions drop off drastically after 30. Creed and Trey Smith are due. Also their stud MLB and CB1. They’ve drafted really well the last few years and it’s about time to pay those guys. Not extending CJ would allows them to keep a few. However it turns out it’s great to see the champs have some turmoil! This can only help all the other AFC teams including the Bills! -

I don’t think KC would do this. But I hope they do because it would cripple their cap for the next few years on a player that will most likely be on the decline. -

No doubt Allen can make amazing plays. As fans we love those! I don’t want him to lose that mentality. Just be more selective. I also hear ya on the Bills offensive philosophy. But Dorsey and Allen have to adjust if the Bills are to go far. Hopefully this year like you said. -

No, you did not. Your summary is filled with all the general criticisms Allen gets. You said that he is not above being criticized but when he gets criticized you’re there to defend him without any acknowledgment that the criticisms may be correct. I do believe he is an elite qb. He’s #2 in my eyes. But that doesn’t mean he’s never wrong. What I got from Saturday night was disappointment that he and the team were not sharp. With the way last season ended and how he said football was going to be his #1 focus you’d think he’d be more crisp with his execution in this first opportunity to showcase since that playoff game. Move the ball efficiently. Take what defenses are given you. So yes it was a very disappointing performance. Hopefully they beat the Jets and all will be well again. What’s there to be confused about? Defenses are adjusting to his playing style. Taking away the deep part of the field. Start taking the underneath stuffs. You said ‘It’s not the Bills offense’ followed by ‘Allen is more than capable of completing short passes’. Yes I agreed he is more than capable. Then do it. What is this crap about it not being their offense. The league is all about making adjustments to your opponent. So you’re saying they can’t do quick passes to help out their Oline as well as counter high safety looks because ‘that’s not their offense’? So you think only West Coast offenses have short passes? -

I’m not sure how one snapshot will prove anything giving that lackluster performance by the 1st team overall. Hopefully when it’s real in a couple of weeks they’d be a lot sharper. -

For starters Dawkins and Brown. Getting the ball out quickly will make the tackles look a lot better. -

I don’t think it’s arguable at all that’s he’s a top 3 qb in this league. Of course he can read defenses. He’s an elite qb. Can he improve on that ability? Absolutely! If he’s able to improve on knowing how defenses are playing him he would be more decisive on where to go with the ball. This will lead to quicker releases to help out the Oline. All of a sudden the Oline wouldn’t seem as bad because the ball is out quicker. Also knowing and taking what defenses give him will make his receivers better. What you’re advocating in your post is give Allen superior teammates in all positions for him to be successful. That’s not an elite qb. That’s a qb that needs his team to lift him up. Elite qbs elevate mediocre teammates and make them look good. There are offensive talents on this team. He needs to adjust his game to take advantage of them. I have a lot of hope going into this season. Those couple of series put a little dent in my optimism. I thought him and the offense would come out a lot sharper than they did. Given what happened in the Cincy game and all offseason to ‘focus on football’ he came out looking really indecisive.
