Hard to beat the Chiefs and the refs every post-season
90sBills replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe they’re a more disciplined team that plays with more poise under pressure because they’ve been through so many of those situations. It’s ok to give them credit for winning without thinking there’s some grand conspiracy. If the Bills could suddenly have this kind of success I would revel in all of the hate they’d get from all other fanbases. All the ‘they get all the calls’ type complaints. -

Tug on the jersey is literally a hold. And it was called as such. The defender that committed the foul even said it was a hold and he was hoping to get away with it. I’m not sure what’s controversial about that call at all. It all boils down to everyone is getting sick of KC winning. Are the officials bad sometimes with inconsistent and inaccurate calls? Absolutely yes! That’s been the story of the NFL since I was a kid. If you have different teams winning SB’s every year people wouldn’t really mind it. But when one team keeps winning then you get this current environment. -

My theory is the only way to satisfied fans is for KC to lose. If KC wins there will be refs conspiracy issues even if the only flags thrown in the game are against KC. -

Brockman from the Rich Eisen show is what I imagine a typical Pats fan to be. -

I hear ya. I don’t think there are any grand conspiracies to favor KC or any other teams. I do think the game is officiated by humans who make mistakes. Especially when those humans are often older men trying to keep up with young elite athletes. When there’s a team like KC (or Pats before them) that keeps winning, there will be resentments that often lead to conspiracies. I still think the game is officiated as fairly as they can so games will still come down to execution and talent. With that I’m taking Philly. They have the better lines on both sides. So I’m selfishly hoping you’re wrong about it being rigged for KC. lol Good chat. Cheers! -

I did? Was I wrong to assumed they were small bets since you said you’re a ‘small bettor’? If you made substantial gains off your belief that it’s rigged for KC then congrats. It’s hard to imagine how substantial out of the ‘10-15 bets per year’ that you made. Especially when most were on college games. Again, this is from the information you provided. That’s all I’m going off of. You also haven’t definitively answered if you made the profits by betting on KC because of your rigged belief. So I’m not sure where you stand with that. Appreciate you saying I seem bright. But believe me, I not very bright at all. Haha Anyway, I was just curious why you’re so adamant about it being rigged. Especially since you do bet sports. I don’t think the house would appreciate the league rigging it for KC so someone like you could collect profits from it. Now imagine millions of people like you. Vegas would be bankrupted. -

So you’re saying you made small bets on KC for a profit? Because that’s what the question was. It wasn’t a question about your gambling acumen. You seem to believe a rigged system for KC. Which begs the question why ‘small bets’? If it’s really rigged for them and you have profited from that belief, shouldn’t the bets be big and profits substantial? And yes. I did do well this season but it wasn’t because of any rigged systems. Thank you for asking. I know if I am certain of any sporting event outcome because it’s ‘rigged’ I wouldn’t be making small bets. -

What cheating? Does this mean you’ve cashed in on the ‘cheating’ and made a bundle on betting KC games? -
That’s one ‘formable autospy’!

Agreed that KC’s overall team steps up more than the Bills, especially in big spots. But to think that’s the only difference is where we disagree. I’ve seen too many improvisations and back breaking runs from Mahomes to just attribute that to his teammates. It’s all good. We all have different perspectives.

Absolutely, Shaw! I saw the same thing this season. That gave me hope that we could finally get over the hump this post season. I don’t really think that going into the year but the teams’s play, and especially Allen’s play, made me a Billiever. Then he started the AFCCG with that look and I was worried. He rebounded and I thought the worse was over. When the defense made that stop at the end I would’ve bet any amount we were going to the superbowl. Then I saw that look again on that last drive. Obviously it’s not all on him. I guess my frustration is seeing Mahomes do the things he does, as you alluded to, and wondering there’s no reason why our guy shouldn’t be that as well. Maybe that’s an unfair way to look at it as they’re different personalities. It’s just not about physical traits. Anyway it’s over. We can just keep on rooting. I do firmly believe that the offense has to win these games when the opportunity presents itself. No matter what kind of defense is assembled it’ll get shredded in the playoffs by great teams.

No. You’re the only expert here. lol Yes I get that the play was designed as a fake screen to Kincaid then hit Shakir. But the defense didn’t bite. Shakir was a low percentage completion at that point. That’s where recognition and improvisation needs to happen. At that point there’s taking off with his legs or Kincaid as the outlet. The line was holding up well on that play. There was time to go back to Kincaid. Either option would have resulted in a positive yards play. That was needed at that point. The second down was just a great play by the defense. That made the situation worse because the first didn’t yield any yards. It was a drive to save the season. They needed to be methodical and efficient. There were opportunities to be that. You didn’t think Allen was tight there? I thought he was and that prevented him from being his best self by making the best decisions.

The defender on Kincaid had his eyes in the middle of the field where Allen was looking. He’s a good 6-7 yards off Kincaid and drifting away. There’s no way he would react fast enough for tackle with no gain if Allen zipped it back to Kincaid. Plus he’s a db that’s smaller than Kincaid. He’d have giving up a couple yards after contact from the angle he would’ve to take. It’s also not clear in that clip. If you watch the game clip, it’s on the NFL app, there’s an endzone shot of this play. The gap to the right of Allen was wide open. Cook had leaked out through there. Allen’s legs would’ve gotten at least 5 yds if he’d taken off. This is the stuffs that Mahomes does all the time to pick up easy yards. Alen is a better runner than Mahomes. Yes the pass to Shakir was not dangerous but it was a low percentage shot for a waste of down. That was a must make drive. We needed positive yards to set up the next down. In normal circumstances I think Allen would’ve recognized that immediately and taken off. These do or die situations bring a different kind of pressure. Maybe he was overthinking and not just reacting. Anyway it’s easy for us fans to hindsight from the couch. We can only hope for a better outcome next time.
