OT:ideas on how to get rid of a massive hickey?
SilverNRed replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tell everyone you were at the Pistons game and Ron Artest beat you up (punching you in the neck repeatedly). -
On the moon, all numbers start at 3000. Primitive earth people wouldn't understand. Don't Question It! /Mooninites

LOL Word.

Girly Boys? "Thoughs guys"? "Your scaring me"? Step away from the keyboard. If I was Artest, I would've gotten off the table, walked to center court (or off the court), and been content knowing that I have tens of millions of dollars more than the guy who threw beer at me and live a life that he could never imagine. Security would have handled it because it was only 1 beer thrown by 1 fan at that time. Things were not out of control until the players stormed the stands. He got hit by 1 beer thrown by 1 fan and he started a riot because of it. If the man (Artest) had three working brain cells, he could've let it slide because it doesn't matter that much in the big scheme of things.

Yeah, exactly, because there's a real chance one or both of us is willing to take a trip from Texas or Indiana. How lame are you? Challenging people on message boards to fights when you know they don't live anywhere near you? Good grief, is anyone impressed by this garbage? Although, I guess if you were impressed by Ron Artest last night, then maybe......
-
Yes, because Ron Artest is an extremely credible human being. Based on the footage and what we know about Artest, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt over the fan who was attacked because *someone* threw a deadly cup of beer.
-
Of course he wouldn't! Almost no one would! But since this is the internet and everyone's basically anonymous and can't be called out on any of this stuff, we have a bunch of people who talk like they're Rambo or Dirty Harry. And it's sad. "Yeah, if that was me, I woulda beat dat punk up real good." Yeah, sure. Now go back to surfing the internet all day.
-
That's not how the fan remembers it...... That's funny - pummeling him while he's asking if he's the one who did it. Yeah, Artest was definitely doing the right thing.
-
It couldn't be worse than Dream Job.

Everyone is so tough on the internet.

Excellent. I've never been called out here before! Girly men? Whoa - watch your language, tough guy. If you really want to get into a pissing match about how intelligent we both are and what we do for a living, I'll be happy to oblige. But, for now, I'll let you off the hook and let that one slide. Clearly he did a great job "defending himself" when he just attacked whoever in the stands because the situation felt a lot safer afterwards. Things didn't get worse at all. No, you're right. Artest did the right thing by overreacting and starting a riot that could have injured him, his teammates, and thousands of people in the building. I'm sure security, the people there who had nothing to do with the incident, and his teammates all appreciated it. Never said anyone had any right to assault them. I said the fan who threw the beer was definitely in the wrong. Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing. Yeah, I didn't F with them (I watched the game on TV) and I would've probably left once the riot started if I was there. But I wasn't surprised so many fans went after the players after they watched a couple assault a 16 year old. Was he even the one who threw the cup? That isn't even clear. It's possible Artest didn't have the best view of who threw the cup seeing as how he was taking a nap on the scoring table when it bounced off his chest. Oh well, as long as he beat up someone, it's easier than fighting Ben Wallace..... All the more reason not to attack kids when you're a pro athlete. Uh-huh, great observation. Maybe you should cry about it.
-
He attacked some kid who didn't throw anything. Yeah, what a hero.

I have a good idea for ABC this Monday!

Does anyone really "date" Tara Reid or do you just agree to meet her at a hotel once you're moderately famous? -
Just checked out a Pistons message board and apparently the kid Artest attacked was 16 years old (!) and wasn't the one who threw the beer at him. More like 20 games minimum if that turns out to be true.
-
Totally agree. Whoever threw the beer at Artest was way out of line (and I'm not even sure it was the guy Artest pounced on because how could he be sure?) but Artest's reaction caused the whole thing to go crazy. How fans react after seeing one of their own get beat up by pro basketball players twice his size is anyone's guess but I don't think it'd be much different in any other city. John Saunders made a complete ass of himself. Calling the fans cowards for throwing punches? A lot of the fans throwing punches were trying to fight off the giant potheads attacking them and their friends. And they didn't say ONE WORD about the players.
-
They just showed it again - he got hit by a blue plastic cup! Yeah, running into the crowd to fight the guy he thought threw it was definitely going to make things a lot better. I'm sure his teammates enjoyed fighting their way out of Detroit after that.
-
Two Words: ****ing Awesome!!!! The idiots on ESPN right now are blaming it all on the fans but there wouldn't have been a brawl if Artest hadn't actually run into the stands apparently trying to fight the entire city of Detroit. One drunk throws a beer at you? Unless there was a glass bottle involved, I think that was a huge overreaction.

Well, I meant a "Christian" holy war but, yeah, I've read that stuff too. -

Go cry it off. Find a halfway credible university and maybe someone will read the paper they produce (and even then there are no guarantees because a lot of garbage comes from and is published by major universities). Berkeley? Golly, I sure hope Michael Moore's analysis comes to the same conclusion. That'd be an airtight case right there. -

"How Berkeley Can You Be?" Parade! (The first few pictures aren't work safe....and also are just sad.) -

I wasn't aware Tim McVeigh was waging a Holy War in Oklahoma City or that he was a practicing Christian. -
Nevermind that little scandal with the $20 billion dollars and Iraq..........
