The Chiefs former practice squad kicker Mathew K. Wright, waived a couple days ago, is life time 51-59 or 86.4%. 11 of 11 from 20-29yds 19-20 from 30-39yds 14-17 from 40-49yds 7-11 from 50-59yds This is a guy we ought to take a look at if he gets through waivers.

Number one, this defense is not better with Matt Milano in the line up. It’s been worse since he has been in the line up. The snow was the 12 and 13th man against the niners. It was the difference maker in that game. Williams is the better player. As for last week, the entire defensive game plan was ill advised, poorly executed and lacked timely adjustments. Stafford comes in with the most hits of any qb and we don’t lay a finger on him. Yet we come within a minute of victory only to have bad strategy wipe out our last chance. I’ve hoped for more plays for Lewis Cine all year but he only had 9 last week. It seems likely that Bishop and Ingram will get snaps. The missing millionaires up front will hopefully find their arses, if not Detroit will score a bunch of points.

McDermott’s Post Game speech deserves its own thread
Jimmy Harris 69 replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve followed the bills since 1969, yea I’m praying for a championship too. But ive seen enough bad coaches and teams in Buffalo to appreciate the turnaround since 2017. So I have to disagree with that sentiment. This does matter. I really like this team and this quarterback. When I look around the NFL and see the massive sucking in places like carolina, Chicago, New York, Jacksonville and Miami, I am grateful for these Bills. I will not hold the failures of the past against this team. -

We Bills fans can be a tough room. Coach hit all the right notes in his post game. Honored the past, reminded them, and us all about the temporal nature of life. That’s where his wisdom lives. On the field, his team has run the table with a decimated receiving corp and team that was rebuilding (remember). I have been very critical of this coach and joined many who doubted his ability to get a ring. He has shown us something this year. It turns out his push to improve the run game is a league wide trend. He has learned from his losses to KC. Instead of looking tight, he’s making snow angels. Yes, we celebrate on victory Monday then move on. This team has the talent, the intangibles, the experience and the Quarterback to climb the mountain. Sean McDermott is Buffalo’s Coach. Five straight division titles show he should stay Buffalo’s Coach for a long time. -
Fitz - If you feel good about the Chiefs, you’re in denial
Jimmy Harris 69 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Once a dynasty is established, either people love them or hate them. At this point is a bit funny that folks get caught up in the Chiefs not winning well enough. But like them or not, the Chiefs find a way to beat lesser teams. Their fortunes changed here. That tells me we can do it again in the playoffs. Their close games also make the case that if a team plays the perfect game, the Chiefs will fall again. -
I just hope to hell we get a new kicker next year. No kicker deserves this many threads.

Thanks for the research Mike. For the record, Green Bay won the NFL Championship in 1965 before the Super Bowl began so they did in fact have a three peat; winning in 66 and 67. I see Buffalo winning this game. It remains to be seen whether they face KC in the playoffs. I remember the 1969 LA Rams went 11-0. They lost their last three and lost in the playoffs to Joe Kapp and the Vikings. The point being, they seemed invincible until they weren’t. The Chiefs might run into the same bout of mortality. Maybe some other poor sob will face them in the playoffs first and do the job for us.

Oh man a pro Edmunds take. Not too many of those here. It was one of his abilities (availability). I hope Cine gets his shot at backer. Buffalo Joe must be in blue heaven. Go Bills !

McD is going to stick with his low risk, low reward safety line up. It’s what he does…it’s all he does. Only something on the practice field in combination with failures(leading to loses) in games will give him the nudge to shuffle safeties after the kerfuffles in Baltimore and Houston.

Does Hyde return this year to the Bills?
Jimmy Harris 69 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would be more likely in January or February than in the regular season. As others have noted any such appearance would be driven by another significant injury to our safety room in the playoffs. Similarly, the Rams brought back Eric Weddle for SB LVI as an insurance policy. Hyde, whose career I greatly admire simply had too many physical problems to continue playing. A Modern Roman gladiator, wounded from too many battles. -
It seems clear the coaching staff doesn’t believe in Edwards so it would be in the best interest of the team to trade him for some asset(s). He would have been on the field by now if it was going to happen. Damar is a middling talent and Bishop is a rook, prone to giving McD agita. Yet Edwards is the forgotten man on Sunday. Cine has much to offer and he too can sit on the bench on Sunday. 🫤Time to cut bait.

I’m surprised Evans got a thread, in what scenario was a kid ever going to get a snap? There’s some kind of Tyrel shavers vibe going on here..

From the first Samuel has been miscast as a gadget player. The injuries set him back but the game usage is baffling. We see Mack Hollins running fly routes against Houston instead of Samuel. I know Mack is a super guy and a good blocker, special teamer, etc, etc….but he doesn’t have 9.3 speed, their 24 million dollar guy has that. Something doesn’t fit. It would be nice if this signing doesn’t go down as total shite.
