Jim would know. Those offenses from the Super Bowl era were led by Thurman. Jim even mentioned at the time that when Thurman was having a good game (which was most of the time) that it opened everything else up. Jim also played behind a good OL. Allen doesn't.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Gregg replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
In defense of Jones just look at the Giants OL and WR's last year. Jones is an average QB IMHO but with the exception of Barkley who did he have on offense to really help him. -
You don't think Bill could win with Allen?
-
6 Super Bowl wins. Yes all the time.
-
Everybody has bad games or seasons. Shula, Landry, Lombardi as nobody can avoid tough times. Look at Bill's overall record as a HC/DC and then look at McDermott's. I would take Bill over Sean as the Bills HC 24-7-365.

I don't know about that. Beane is respected around the league and is considered a good GM. If he were really McDermott's puppet he could quit and get another job in about 5 seconds. -
For me at Giants Stadium I had tickets on the sidelines. But the price to sit in the same spot at MetLife they were going to charge me with a $10,000 per seat PSL fee. I have two seats. I said F that. I now sit behind the endzone. The PSL fee for those seats is $5,000 per seat. It will depend on the cost. People will try to sit in the same area that they currently do but $$$ will play a factor.

If by some miracle Bill did come here, then... 1. Terry would have to open up the checkbook bigtime. 2. Bill would run the entire show including being Beane's boss. He is a much better HC/DC then McDermott anyway so no way he would take orders from someone whose defense can't protect a 3-point lead with just 13 seconds and the other team starting at their own 25.

Agree on the roster. But that is more on Beane then McDermott. They have to build the LOS on both sides of the ball. But more so on the OL. They need to build around Allen. Give him a strong OL with a good RB and this team will be unstoppable. I could accept the WR's we have now even though we need an upgrade #2 WR if we had a better OL. Allen playing hero ball looks exciting and will win games in the regular season, but it won't in the playoffs against top teams. -
How many season ticket holders do the Bills have 50,000, 60,000? Wait until they transfer fans from the current stadium to the new stadium. If the stadium opens in 2026 then expect the Bills to ask season ticket holders to put down a deposit for tickets in the new stadium if not in 2024 then definitely 2025. Season ticket holders with the most seniority will get first choice as to where they want to sit in the new stadium. I went through this going from Giants Stadium to MetLife. Assuming the Bills do what, the Jets and Giants did.

McDermott has done a great job in turning the Bills around. Nobody would argue that. Going from 17 straight playoff less seasons to what we have had over the last 6 years has been fun to watch. But these playoff failures are getting old. I am not suggesting Pegula cleans house yet. But McDermott and Beane's seat should be getting warm if the Bills can't deliver in the next 2 or 3 years. By that time if we don't have a Lombardi or a Super Bowl appearance then it may be time to go in a different direction. -
Pretty much. You have a better chance of seeing Vince Lombardi rise from the dead and coach the Bills.
-
Never going to happen. But Bill did go to 9 Super Bowls and won 6 of them with a franchise future HOF QB. What has McDermott accomplished. If by some miracle this could happen, then **** yeah make it happen.

2023 Yankees thread.........Domingo German pitches perfect game

Good win. Always nice to start the year off 1-0. Need about 99 more of these and the AL East is ours -
The Bills and Dolphins will probably get on primetime as well. They did play 3 close games last year. I would say Bills-Dolphins and Bills-Jets are a good bet for primetime this season.
-
The Bills will get the CBS #1 announcers sometimes when they play on Sunday afternoon. No chance the Bills don't get Romo/Nantz at some point in the season.
-
The Bills won 13 games last year and have JA. They will get their share of primetime games. I would guess 4 with a chance to be flexed into a 5th game.
-
I would be shocked if one of the Bills-Jets games this year isn't on primetime. The other will be the CBS featured game that week with Nantz/Romo on the call.
-
That is why I said the Sabres need to get off that list next year. I think they will. There is a lot of young talent on the roster that is only going to get better. They do need to improve the defense this offseason. That is a must.
-
It won't happen this year, but the Sabres need to get off that list next year. If they have a good offseason in improving the D and G then I think they will.
-
Not a list you want to be on. The Jets can say they are #1 at something.

We can play the what if game all day but if you polled fans, coaches, players around the league I bet Mahomes would get the nod as the best QB in the league. Mahomes does have the #2 OL while Allen's was #26 last year. Mahomes also has the better coach, and his defense also plays better in the playoffs. So, I do see your point.
