Rumor re: Brandon Staley (to be let go at year's end)
Gregg replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Does he want to enjoy a real homefield advantage or be coaching road games in his own home stadium. -
Jets Officially Open Rodgers 21 Day Window. Back to Practice.
Gregg replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is no way the Jets should play him. What would he be coming back to. Their season is over as they are playing meaningless games again. There is no way his Achillies can be fully healed in 3 months. A 40-year-old playing behind that OL. What could go wrong. -

You don't think Bill would be an obvious upgrade over Sean assuming he leaves NE.

If Brady continues to have the Bills offense playing well these last 5 games and more importantly gotten Josh playing at the top of his game, then maybe the next HC of the Bills is already in Buffalo.

Most BILLSY thing we are about to do to end the season

A replay of the Steelers game from many years ago. That would be so BILLSY. -
If we win out...what is impact on coaching decisions?
Gregg replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
If McDermott gets fired but Beane stays, then it will be Beane leading the coaching search. No way Leslie is the next HC. If Pegula fires both then I could see him hiring Bill. Bring in a proven winner by making a big splash hire. A team on the decline won't help sell those tickets with raised prices and PSL fees. Bill will get everyone's hopes up that he and Josh can win the Lombardi. -

You are probably right. The two toughest are at KC and DAL. Those will be tough games and will probably be close one score games in the 4th quarter. We all know how the Bills do in that situation. If by some miracle they win those then running the table is a very realistic possibility. -

It's being reported by Jay Glazer and was the back page headline/story in yesterday's Daily News that Daboll and Martindale aren't getting along. Wink could be an option for DC if he leaves the Giants at the end of year. -
There is nothing to blast with Bill becoming the next Bills coach. If he wants to be GM, then hell no. Beane does that. As a HC the record speaks for itself when he has a great QB. His defenses will also come up with big stops at critical moments in a game.

The win over Miami in the season finale has to be #1 on everyone's list. It combined with the Bengals win over the Ravens ended the drought. The scene in the Bills locker room when they were celebrating like crazy is something nobody will forget. IMHO.

I wouldn't want Bill here if he wants to be the GM and have total control. If Beane is the GM who controls the roster, then Bill is the perfect candidate to coach the Bills. I don't care that he is 70. I wouldn't care if he brought Josh McDaniel's in as his OC. Maybe Kraft makes him the next Pats coach anyway. Who knows. Give me the guy who has gotten to 9 Super Bowls and won 6 of them with an elite level QB. Bill is also a much better DC than Sean. He will be motivated to kick the Pats ass twice just to stick it to Kraft. He flat out owns the Jets. These are good things since the Bills play these teams a combined 4 times a year. I would rather have this then make an OC a first time HC. That might work or it might not. You never know.

1. Win in the season finale over Miami 22-16 and combined with the Bengals win over the Ravens to end the playoff less streak. 2. Playoff win over the Colts 3. Playoff win over the Ravens 4. Playoff blowout of the Pats 5. Both regular season wins at KC 6. Win over Dallas on Thanksgiving

Isn't Eisen a Jets fan. He can complement Allen all he wants but you know he loved the result of the Bills-Eagles game.

The injuries have derailed his career, but White has been a very good player for the Bills. I am not sure Mahomes does better with the Bills than Allen has. Mahomes has Andy Reid, Tyreek Hill (for a few years), Kelce and a much better OL than Josh has had here. Also, the Chiefs defense has managed to make stops in big moments when they had to. The Bills not so much. If they switched teams Allen has two rings and Mahomes has none.

Constipation. This one got stuck in my digestive tract.
Gregg replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall
You are not wrong about the Jets and Pats games. That was terrible and I would include the Broncos game as well. What made this game tough to take at least for me is I thought we were going to lose all week leading up to it. I thought they had a small chance to win. Then the Bills go out and get a 10-point lead. They are playing them tough all the way thru. Got the lead late in the 4th. Had a miracle FG made forcing them to go to OT. Get the lead in OT but can't close it out. If they would have lost badly then I would have been saying "whatever". But they got my hopes up that they were going to pull out the win but didn't. That is what made it disappointing. -
I would be shocked if that happened. I think he gets the entire season no matter what. If they were going to make the change in season, then right now is the time to do it with it being the bye week.
-
In fairness to the fans McDermott has been here 7 years. This team has gotten worse since 13 seconds. The frustrating losses are becoming more frequent. At some point the Bills have to move from McDermott if he can't deliver. The Eagles eventually moved on from Reid. It feels like the time is coming for the Bills to do the same.

Agree. We will have to wait and see how the rest of the season plays out. Right now, it's looking very good that we get the 2nd place schedule. I don't see the Jets or Pats catching us and I doubt we catch the Fins unfortunately.

He wins most of his close games unlike McDermott. He is doing it with Pickett as his QB. It seems like every week the Steelers are trailing most of the day in some low scoring game. Then the offense puts one drive together and they pull out the win. Not the Browns game but most of them.
