LOL He is a stud. He has no bigger supporter than me. I haven't even approached being as hard on him as almost everyone. I know, competent play against the best teams and all, and expectations of Championships and competence in the payoffs. What on earth am I thinking.

LOL Fair enough. Then there's that. Give Josh Allen someone not to make the dimwitted "13-Seconds" decision(s), and he'd/we'd have one Lombardi now as well. We were there!

A win over the hapless Jets? Yes, that's correct, not good enough for me. Good enough for you? Great. But my standards are quite a bit higher as a Bills fan. Wins over the Jets, Raiders, Skins, Giants, and Bucs, correct, ain't cuttin' it for me either. So we'll have to agree to disagree. I'm happy that you're pleased however. Hopefully we'll go 5-1 against the rest of the schedule. Then I'll be one of the happiest people here.

I'm not quite sure that's what I implied. It wasn't what I meant to imply if so. What's funny about it is how people continually throw up analagous historical facts as relevant exceptions, except that they have contexts that don't even match what's going on here. Give Rodgers and Manning the defenses that Allen's had and then it's an accurate comp. Since that can never happen, it would seem that it's not an accurate/apples-to-apples comp. There are endless such exceptions. It's always amusing what gets thrown up.

Celebrate a win over a team like the Jets? Well, OK. I'll be quite a bit more jacked if we can even make the Eagles game a good game. Beating the Jets, yeah, sorry, at home with a QB that's quite likely never to seriously start anywhere beginning next season doesn't quite cut it for me.

LOL You've just gotta love the things people put up in defense of all things Bills.

You sure it was all that obvious? Seems that we played the same in our three game string against Miami, @ Washington, and the Raiders. In fact, Romo ranted about our point-differential, which is great as a whole, but it's largely as a result of those three games. In our other 8 games we're PF 171 and PA 157, for +14, not even 2 ppg, which is patently average. Without yesterday's game contributing to that it's negative by about the same amount. In the six game string prior to yesterday it was 123 PF and 139 PA for -16. The inconsistency of this particular team hasn't been seen in eons. It's easy to rave over yesterday's performance, but we're talking about beating a team that hasn't even averaged 10 PPG over their past four games. It helps when your defense is able to provide a 14 minute time-of-possession advantage, limit the opposing offense to 54 plays, allow them nothing better than starting field-position at their own 34. We also had 10 of our points set up by our D at the Jets' 21 and 23 YLs. Concerning for us is going 1-for-4 in the Red Zone, and having a very average 3rd-down-conversion-rate. The Jets have the 12th ranked scoring D, not the 1st, not even in the top-10. Not one other team on our remaining schedule is going to be anywhere close to that anemic offensively. So we'll see. It was a good and much needed win, and for sure a step towards a retracking of the offense, but it was also the type of win that provides false hopes for something more than we are. Not one other game this season is going to be anywhere near that easy. Four of the last six are on the road as well and four are against teams with 7 or 8 wins. Ahead we face the 2nd and 5th ranked scoring Ds, but more alarmingly, we face the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th, and 11th ranked scoring offenses, four times on the road. That's going to be a whole lot different for our D than Zach Wilson and the Jets. We should find out beginning this Sunday whether this game will end up being an outlier or the front end of a new season of sorts for us. It's wise to be cautiously optimistic at best.

Exactly Brady didn't fudge it up.
-
Oh I'm sorry, it seems that bringing up his being limited by coaching actually does him a service in that department. Nice hyperbole otherwise! As you were. Nice of you to point to other posters however. Nothing substantive to add to the conversation otherwise then?
-
Makes one wonder why we haven't gotten more from the team during that time span then. That seems to implicate coaching as well.
-
It helped that the Jets' offense couldn't get out of its own way and our D dominated them. That always makes things easier for an offense. Keep in mind as well that that was the first appearance of the Brady schemed offense. As the games continue, more video of our O will become available to opponents. That shouldn't be discounted. Very optimistic, but as we all realize, the gauntlet lies ahead.
-
We're getting ahead of ourselves. This team is known for its sporadic big games at key times. The Jetss are a hapless team that has averaged 16 PPG. Zach Wilson is awful. Far from Hurts, Mahomes, Prescott, Herbert, or Tua. Home crowd helped, but those are far from the conditions that will exist forthcoming with four of six on the road. Let's see how the "new and improved" Bills handles the Eagles, a better barometer. McD's issues didn't simply spring up this season, they're patterned. Playoffs are expected at this point, with something greater than a D or WC round loss too an inferior team or due too coaching blunders. Nothing should have changed in that regard. Let's see how it shakes out.

That was hilarious. I thought that was a serious flop for a moment. What a sense of humor he's got! Sauce Gardner's a first-class punk.

The Good, The Sad, The Ugly, The Joe Brady Era Begins Edition
PBF81 replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have to hope that this wasn't simply one of our emotional high games at home and that the momentum continues. @ Philly's going to be a real test of that. -
Indeed. Having said that, curious WTF took them so long to figure that out.

Will a win over the Jets to get to 6-5 bring everyone back in?!?!
PBF81 replied to DBilz2500's topic in The Stadium Wall
They really are, aren't they. LOL This has to be Zach Wilson's last year as a starter. Presumably they'll be drafting a QB, hopefully not a good one. -
Do you want Sean McDermott to be the head coach of the 2024 Buffalo Bills?
PBF81 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
It does, so yeah, I hear ya. Presumably you understand the point however. Happy Thanksgiving BTW!! -
No Oliver?

There's very little comparison between '70s era football and that of today however. This was a good game, what was needed, and frankly, expected. The Jets suck, averaging 16 ppg coming in, now 15 or so. We also had an advantage or new offensive scheme, or at least somewhat. Hopefully it helped the team find itself a little. Unfortunately for us, all of the currently seeded teams except for Pittsburgh, who played one that did, won. At least the fans in attendance don't have to leave the game like they did last week. -
This should be the last season of Zach Wilson. Hopefully they don't land a top QB.
-
Has Gardner been fined by the league much? If not, he needs to be. What a general hot-headed *****.

Maybe Shakir's a bona fide #2 WR. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Singletary & Moss both look much better on new teams
PBF81 replied to Chicagobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Presumably because Pierce had been starting. Not sure whether he's injured or why he's not playing, but Singletary's playing better than Pierce either way. And in his two starts he's gone nuts. What, averaging 131 and 1 TD/game. Even as a backup he's outperformed Pierce. I don't care, just pointing it out. So coaching essentially? -
11/19/23 Week #11 GAMEDAY Bills vs Jets Pregame Thread

We seem to be saving a number of things for the Super Bowl. -
Indeed Good rule of thumb, never discuss politics online. LOL Thanks BTW! True, but at the same time, grace needs to be extended to those that were wrong for purposes of continued civil discussion. As an example, there's a prominent poster that's been on me like white on rice in our all but diametrical view of McD. And I'm not the only one, just using me as an example. He's put up one of those "red X's on just about every post even remotely critical of mine re: McD. But not once have I made a "see I told you so post." Why not? He sees it too. No need for me or anyone to hammer it in. Now if he continues on his path of support for McD, he's only asking for ardent opposition to it. So far he hasn't, so again, he's sees it too. If we had made the Super Bowl despite McD, with Dorsey leading the O, as I thought it would lead to record-setting scoring production, then McD, right or wrong, would have cemented himself as being a great coach. That's simply how narratives are. Those of us critical of McD would have to deal with it. Of course a Super Bowl win would have greased the skids of dealing with that situation nicely. LOL
