I stand by that. There's zero chance that with the support of the fans and community that McDoesn'tKnow continues to stay on for much longer. I give him next season tops. What Pegula does is anyone's guess, but relegating this team to a higher caliber version of the Sabres is not in his best interests.

Sounds as if those that understand McD realize that you have to ignore him in order to be at your best sometimes. As Dunne points out in his piece as well as logic dictates, Brady is also interviewing for a job simultaneously, he likely doesn't want to piss a temperamental McD off. Should be interesting. Yeah, that's the 1-0 Niners. We beat a team that finished 6-10 and we played them with Nick Mullens at QB.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
PBF81 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting that you say that, because by their survey, the new prices are going to mimic the aftermarket prices here a lot more closely than they will the current pricing structure, and that w/o the consideration of PSLs. I'm simply curious when these alluded to virtual tours are going to start for those interested in buying future seasons/PSLs and willing to drop the $150 non-refundable deposit that's reportedly required to do so. -
I'd strongly suggest taht you read Dunne's entire article. If you want to agree with the many sources he's cited, or call them liars, feel free. You won't hurt my feelings. But as I recall, many of the things that we now know to be absolute fact, were contested by McD's apologists as hearsay, nonsense, and without any substance or basis whatsoever. So that hasn't aged well. Otherwise, this really isn't all that important to me. McD's days are numbered and that's his own doing, not mine, Dunne's, nor anyone else's. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Completely agree! Thanks for pointing that out. It's a great piece, and contrary to the notions that Dunne whipped it up on short-order and simply decided to release it now, that's ridiculous. The amount of time and effort that clearly went into it must've taken many months at least. Well before the start of the season. But yeah, the piece says some positive things too, but it's also clear that those positives are McD's ceiling, and that he simply doesn't have the polished nuances that are necessary for the team to optimize the play of the team. Those things have also gone noticed by most people here as well however, but we've simply not had the hard evidence to validate them.
-
Well, per your control-freak comment, which we now fully know has a lot of validity to it, the odds as you imply are probably zero. LOL As you say however, if Brady has the stones to simply let the D cut loose like Daboll did, then as is the schtick re: McMeltdown, we may overcome our biggest impediment, our illustrious head coach. It would be pretty exciting though to make the playoffs as the 7th-Seed, then go on to win the Super Bowl. I almost think I'd rather have it that way in fact. GO BILLS!!!
-
Again, the one thing that you're not ackowledging, is statements by both current as well as former players, stating outright, that anyone that says something that McD doesn't agree with, much less challenges or disagrees with him, is chastised or castigated by him. That hardly fosters a culture of openess. You seem to ignore that entirely. Again, we'll see as time goes on, more will come out. It's not as if we have any say over any of this. And when you said "Poyer agrees" above, it's clear that McD treats his DBs differently than he does the rest of the team. That's been blatant to outsiders for years.
-
We'll see, hopefully that's the case. My personal take is that I'd rather make the playoffs as the 7th seed and win the Super Bowl than have the 1st seed and choke in the divisional round. I know that that speaks for just about all Bills fans if not every one. Having said that, few if any of us ever imagined that we'd be at the 11th spot currently reliant upon, in essence, winning out, or at least finishing 4-1 for that 7th seed. No matter how we slice it, McDoesn'tKnow is an element that needs to be overcome in these games for us to do whatever it is that we're going to do. Whether that happens, Sunday will be the first final piece of that puzzle. Hopefully this is that "unlikely" season where we overcome all the odds, including that of the 7th seed and worst team (record wise) in the playoffs, to win a Lombardi. If we're in it even, I'm going up to Buffalo, even if I have to go alone. LOL GO BILLS!!!

Been thinking about this a little bit more. Did you read Dunne's piece, the whole thing, not simply the free part? It's well worth the $8 alone if you want to understand the current state of this team. Among the handful of core takeaways are that players are loathe to speak their minds to McD for fear of retribution of one sort or another. That coming from current players/coaches as well. So to your point, and many of us have come to this conclusion independently well before this Dunne piece came out, which BTW, he'd been researching and compiling for quite some time, it seems that the highly praised "culture" here is precariously teetering on the fence leaning towards falling into the toxic category. Contrary to the thoughts of many as posted, that he woke up last week or a few weeks ago, and decided to write it and release it off the cuff.

We have no idea what those guys think personally. This is a very private team, more so than teams of the past, perhaps the most private, which when we think about it makes a little sense because that's the way their head coach is. What about Diggs? Pretty sure we don't know the whole story there. It's reasonable to suspect that we haven't heard the last from him. Poona Ford. Fournette. I'd also question Beasley. Do you have quotes from them saying as much? Klein should be on his knees before McD for even having the role he did, he wouldn't have gotten it elsewhere as he did here. Players get paid enough and they keep their mouths shut. It's a fair point however. Remember too, that what Dunne's pointing out by the players and coaches, lots of them, not just a few, is the type of thing that if you pipe up and say what you really think to McD, your time there could be finished. That's hardly a culture that prompts openess. Just sayin'.

The Fins play the Titans, Jets, Cowboys, and us at home. Baltimore on the road with the Ravens coming off of a west coast MNF game @ San Fran where they'll get beat up badly. We play @ KC, @ Chargers, @ Miami, Dallas, and NE. IF we go 4-1 and the Fins go 2-3, they win the division. If one of their wins is against us, in a game in which both teams will be completely different, and in different circumstances entirely, than in the first game in week 4, then 4-0 by us otherwise and wins over the Titans and Jets @ Miami will do it too. Even if we win out, which is all but laughable given that we have yet to beat a decent team besides Miami, who also hasn't beaten anyone, if the Fins go 3-2 they win the division. So yeah, it is crazy. LOL But hey, we're crazy fans.

I do love your optimism. Well, besides those few 25 sources, he didn't specify. Poona Ford's unhappy. So is Fournette. It also projects to that those guys weren't told the truth. Not that it matters in Fournette's case as he didn't seem to have any other offers, but not so for Ford. You also have to remember, that a bunch of our coaching staff is only here in roles that they wouldn't have elsewhere, specifically because of those personal connections to McD in Carolina. That's hardly an endorsement of your position.

The difference being that it's a cross-country trip, that seems to feed into it. The Chargers are the only team in the AFC that actually plays on the West Coast in the Pacific Time Zone. We didn't manage the trip to England very well. LOL On McD's watch, out on the west coast, we're 0-1 (Arizona), 0-1 (Chargers), 1-0 (Rams), and 1-0 (Niners), 2-2 total if we want to include AZ, but both the Rams and Niners were awful in the seasons that we beat them. The Chargers were OK, 9-7, but didn't make the playoffs that season, and they annihilated us. The Chargers this season aren't good but they're better than either of those two teams were, at least offensively, and Herbert is better than Rivers. The fact that other than Miami, the other five teams that we've beaten are a combined 22-39 isn't exactly a harbinger of good tidings. LOL First things first. I wish that the Chiefs had won last week. The fact that they lost makes this game more difficult for us to win. They won't be looking past us because we're the last and only particular concern of theirs on their schedule. McD's not in his element either. He's obviously a very private person, but for this game anyway, he will personally be in the national spotlight, fair or not. As well, according to Dunne's sources in his piece, McD gets anxious before the KC games and that anxiousness is palpable amongst the rest of the team. The whole spotlight thing isn't going to help that. Factor in that it's been 49 games, aka nearly 3 seasons, that KC's lost b2b games. They have also been stingy at home. 21, 17, 14, 14, 10, and 8, an average of 14 PPG. Brady's got his work cut out for him. Expecting a good defensive matchup here, largely because KC's WRs suck. That rookie Rice looks good though, his metrics are excellent. Dude's good sized too. It shouldn't be a reach that he and Kelce can post a good game against us with Pacheco in the mix. At least it doesn't seem as if they're suited to blowing us out, so if it is a blowout, we should be the ones doing the routing. Then again, Reid v. McD ...

Should have worn your Mr. Clean costume.

Week 14, Bills v. Chefs - Predict the Score
PBF81 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
They haven't lost b2b games in 49 games. We're their last big hurdle to winning out and possibly the #1 Seed.. If we can be the first team to put up more than 21 points @ Arrowhead this season, we should win. If not, then not. Fewest TOs wins this game otherwise. -
It's definitely going to take a large element of luck, not to mention, how are we going to play. Problem with the wild card is that we have almost no tiebreakers. There's virtually no chance that we win the division. It's also uncomfortable knowing that other than for Miami, the teams that we've beaten are a combined 22-39 (.361). What remains are two division leaders, the best non-division leader, and @ the Chargers where we haven't won since the Knox days. That doesn't sound encouraging or validating.

Props to the players for keeping certain things private I suppose. This entire thing is way overblown IMO, but yet it is another tile in the grand mosaic of McD's character flaws that lead to his inadequacies as a head coach. I mean what's next, if Von Miller did assault his GF, using that as pitch for loyalty bc at least he went back to her despite that she was only a GF and not his wife or something. It definitely raises judgement issues, which are a huge part of where his coaching has gone off the rails. Just my two cents.
-
This single thing in particular isn't enough to do it IMHO. But everything adding up is simply too much. It was obvious that this season would be the one where he was exposed for who's he really is, but the fact that it's all cascaded so quickly is stunning. As mentioned, he keeps giving himself rope to hang himself with. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what anyone but Pegula thinks. But at some point even he's gotta consider the outside pressure and image of the franchise. McPuckerUp?

And just BTW, if you think that McDoesn'tKnow can't possibly turn the "culture" that exists at OBD sour in short order, think that one over a little bit more. This ridiculous insinuation that we're otherwise headed for division championships every season and playoffs is clearly over. The free ride of three bereft AFCE teams post-Brady is now over as well with Miami the better team. And a little something to think about from Dunne's article, you should definitely read the context, but here's the summation; One ex-Bills assistant said he’s been hearing from players and coaches alike who want out. “It’s all a persona,” this coach said. “You wouldn’t have players and coaches asking — begging — to get out of there if the culture was so great. That’s a good team that’s won a lot of football games. It’s hard to win games in this league. It’s not easy. Players and coaches would rather go somewhere else than be there and be miserable.” I'm not saying that's not embellished at least a little, but it's far from not likely. If we miss the playoffs, we'll likely be seeing some visible discontent from the outside even. File under Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.
-
Yup! With a HC that knows offense. Sure, if you consider a team that can't advance in the playoffs a good thing. Otherwise, a whole lot of people would question your definition of a "good thing."
-
And those teams finished 5-11, 5-11, 5-11, 7-9, 9-8, and 8-9. 39-59 combined, not a playoff team among the bunch. Should be a good game. KC has allowed 21, 17, 14, 14, 10, and 8 at home. Four good offensive teams in the batch too. One of those games where the team that makes the fewest mistakes wins. I know that I will be, he's ceiling'd out, why would anyone want a coach like that to stick around. You happy with ceiling out?
