  1. The two of 'em can get together and feign a combined 18th birthday party.
  2. Imagine how it's going to look if Rodgers does come back this season, and immediately off of that surgery puts up above-average numbers with the same team. Otherwise, Wilson's got the perfect face to apply filters to in order to create a cry-baby face.
  3. BTW, I just looked, of the top-11 teams ranked in scoring offense last season, only one managed to miss the playoffs, which was Detroit, which was ranked 29th in Defense, not 5th. We'll see, and I'll run the numbers at season's end with our actual final rankings, but there's good reason to believe that we'll be in historically superlatively bad territory in this way.
  4. LOL I wish that I could say that I feel sorry for ya. I wish.
  5. To be a fly in the wall of the league officiating office ...
  6. Who would have thunk it, but this appears to be more of a defensive matchup than an offensive one. It's the game that McDoesn'tKnow has dreamt about.
  7. LOL Wow, that's saying something. Yeah, I'd agree with you then. Do you see some other team picking him up? I'm only asking because I'm not sure that I see a whole lot of interest in a 72-year old coach that wants GM responsibilities as well, and who's only track record of success apart from Brady is abject failuire. IDK, that sounds like the perfect time to let him go. You couldn't have missed his track record with their drafts. Now the Pats will have a top pick in every round. Not sure I'd want to entrust Belichick with that.
  8. The leverage that we have is Allen. How many coaches are going to have a chance to coach with a QB of Allen's characteristics. If they'd rather go coach a team with a lesser QB or no long-term QB prospect, for more money, so be it. Seems to me that they wouldn't have been here primarily to win then anyway. Not sure we need a coach here that is more concerned about money than about performance. Besides, the money would follow the performance. And otherwise, put performance incentives in it. What coach wouldn't think that having Allen gives him a far greater chance to succeed and make him great as well. Just my take however.
  9. The notion that Belichick, even at 72, is better than McDoesn'tKnow is a given. Still, Belichick is strong on defense, knows little about offense, has struggled without Brady doing the offense's thinking for him, but more importantly, isn't a long-term answer either way. It's also far riskier than it needs to be. There are any number of candidates that would be better for Allen & the Offense, which means a better overall team, than McDoesn'tKnow. No need to hit up an assisted living facility for a guy that would likely want both the GM and HC positions and who's only proven that he sucks at the former. Either way, to start, McD likely isn't going anywhere for as much as most fans want him outta here, so it's more or less moot. It comes down to Pegula who's a strange cat in that way. I suppose if we finish 2-3, which is unfathomable, but should it happen then the pressure will be on him. I'd be fully in favor of a 2-year contract for the next guy, with stipulations involving an AFCC and SB appearance, with a guaranteed 3-5 year extension based upon that. It's still a business, right.
  10. His playoff performances sans Brady are miserable. Look them up. Ironically, the only non-humiliating playoff game he was ever in, his only playoff win in fact apart from Brady, was against Bledsoe's Pats. Look up Bledsoe's playoff history when you have a second. I'll provide links to both below. He was an attrocious playoff QB. Horrible. No reason for this kind of beatdown by a Neil O'Donnell-led offense, particularly when you have the 1st-ranked D. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199501070pit.htm Here's his only playoff win per above, and the Pats were far from a great team that season, good, not great by any measure. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199501010cle.htm Then of course there's the abject beatdown he took against us in '21. Bledsoe's playoff history, ... his best playoff QB Rating was 72.3. LOL https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BledDr00/gamelog/post/
  11. Why would anyone hire a 72-year old coach that has only succeeded with the GOAT and been a miserable failure without that GOAT.
  12. Just looked, 4 was his biggest streak. Right now we have the 5th ranked scoring offense and the 5th ranked scoring defense. I suspect that our D will slip significantly, but if not, I'll be curious how many times a team ranked in the top-x for both missed the playoffs. If my suspicions are correct I'm not expecting to find any, but we'll see. I'll do the exercise once the season completes if we do fail to make the playoffs.
  13. A lot of people saying that, but I'm having a difficult time envisioning that. What's the general fan sentiment in the New England market? If that's in peak "get rid of him" form I can see that.
  14. You are are you. I'm pretty sure that any coaching edge goes definitively to Reid here. My concern would be that Pacheco cuts loose and provides that element to the Chiefs' offense. That wouldn't be good. That's all fine and good but our offense hasn't been particularly impressive on the road though either. With the exception of the Eagles that is. We're good at getting up for a single game or two, let's see if we can get up for 2 more toughies, 3 total, b2b, and then three more against meh teams and Miami again. You speak for a lot of us.
  15. It could also be that they just suck that badly. They outplayed the Chargers statistically and the Chargers are a better team. The Chargers aren't tanking. LOL Either way, the Draft should be interesting with Belichick likely having a top-3 pick, possibly 1st overall.
  16. And we're still coached by McDoesn'tKnow who's responsible for likely keeping a team that currently has the 5th ranked O and D out of the playoffs. Nothing changes there, with the weak link.
  17. What was their competition in the AFC at the time? Favre never missed when his scoring offense was ranked better than 10th. Marino did three times when his offense ranked in the top-10, but with defenses ranked 16th, 24th, and 26th. So for a team with a 5th ranked offense and a 5th ranked defense, not sure you'll find a team in the free agency era anyway that whiffed on playoffs like that.
  18. Given our schedule there's zero excuse not to be at least 10-2 right now, possibly even 11-1 with a runaway path to 1st and homefield. Otherwise, this discussion doesn't even approach being complete without factoring in the one person that is responsible for this debacle.
  19. Josh Allen was the horse and he happened to be on it.
  20. That's a fun stat, but only one of those teams finished with a winning record and none were playoff teams. Obviously quite a bit different now.
  21. First things first. Let's see if we can log a W @KC. It's going to come down to our D. Hold 'em to under 21 and we have a great chance. Not, and not so much. Then Dallas at home. If we can go 2-0 there ...
  22. Do you know what The Process is? If so, do tell.
  23. Chiefs are tough at home. They've allowed a max of 21 offensive points, and to some to top offensive teams too. Philly 21 Chargers 17 Fins & Lions 14 Bears 10 Broncos 8 Denver's not going to catch them, but they're fighting for seeding. I was hoping they'd beat GB. Less pressure for them to win our game. Don't bet the over.
  24. Indeed, and as usual, were left to our dreams of what could have been. I'm still PO'd that we're not 10-2 and in the lead for the 1st Seed and homefield. I mean the skids were greased for that one. They're different. Mahomes has a better short soft touch, Allen has a stronger arm. Either on KC would be in the same place.
  25. Here's a follow-up question, which of the contending teams have better receivers than we do? We have the best QB apart from KC, whose WRs blow. It's gonna take 9 straight wins. When's the last time that happened?
