  1. Absolutely, no argument. Yeah, I don't count OT for scoring since it's beyond 4Qs. The other 30 was Carolina. 'nuff said. As you say, 30 should win it, as in the first game, 22 might win it, but why allow it to be so close if we don't have to, eh. Everyone in the world, pretty close to literally, knows what Allen can do. There's no sense in limiting him for purposes of "not showing anything" to our SB opponent. I haven't felt this good about a playoff game after the WC Round since the '90s. GO BILLS!!!
  2. Thanks! Completely agree with you on that bolded part. In fact, I just posted this in an another thread ... Agreed, and maybe not even that much, but why not score as often as possible to polish up for the SB. The Chiefs have only played four teams ranked among the top-10 in scoring D. The Chargers (1st) Denver (3rd) Pittsburgh (8th) and Baltimore (9th) Against Pittsburgh they had a short-field three times due to two great returns (P & KO) (42 TD and 54 FG) and otherwise one fumble. (34 TD) In their Ravens game they had a Balt 4th-and-3 choke give them the ball at their own 49 (FG) and Jackson fumbling to give them ball at Balt's 14 (FG). 21 otherwise. Against the Chargers and Denver they put up 16, 17, and 19. In our first matchup, Allen set them up at our own 40 (INT) for a TD. Apart from that they had two drives for 70 & 88 for TDs. After that they were pathetic, 40 total yards on 6 drives with a max of 31 that ended in a punt. Meanwhile, we posted TD drives of 65, 70, 70, and 83, and a FG drive of 62. The game wasn't even as close as that score, and if Allen doesn't throw that pick, we may have won that game 37-14. If we don't turn the ball over, and don't allow any huge returns, and make sure that Kelce doesn't have a season best, we should be fine. The Chief's D is good but not great despite their 4th overall ranking based upon a slate of weak offensive teams. GO BILLS!!!

  4. FWIW, our secondary back in the '90s was hardly the strength of this team. In fact it was probably the weakest unit. Granted, we don't have the front-7 that we had back then, but we also have Allen. FWIW, we held the Chiefs to their lowest total yards in the regular season. Houston held them to a mere 212 on Saturday, 162 passing, 50 rushing. The Chiefs are hardly trending offensively. In fact, it's probably safe to argue that their offense is worn out. No premier offensive players unless we count a TE that's nearing the end of his career and that averaged 8.5 Yards-per-Reception, down 30% from his career average, and with his lowest TD total (3) of his career. Kareem Hunt (728, 7, 3.6) shouldn't be of any significant concern, and after Kelce the only other receiver on their team that has posted more tha 500 yards receiving is the rookie Worthy (638, 6, 10.8). Have Milano shadow Kelce and cut Allen loose ... we have to put the [offensive] pedal to the metal in this one, trying to play ball-control here is the wrong answer.
  5. One of the keys for this game was to not have shot our load against the Ravens, but not sure I see that being a consideration, the entire team and all things Bills understand the ramifications for this game. No player or group of players much less the entire team will be looking past this game. Other than for Denver having played KC's JV team, we score more points than anyone on KC this season. Take Kelce out of the game and the job is half done. We cannot rely on the defense however, or takeaways. We need to be aggressive offensively as you stated.
  6. Agree on the matchup vs. the Chiefs. The Chiefs are also overrated. They've played only a few top offenses this season, Cincy, Baltimore, Tampa, and us. That's why their D is ranked so highly. They're getting precious little support from their running game, they rank 22nd in YPG and 28th in YPA offensively. Long gone are the days of Hill & Kelce in his prime. Cook/Davis/Johnson should be able to post a good day. Allen shouldn't need to be called upon to have to do it all in this one. But for the love of football, if we win the toss, take the damn ball this time. The last thing we need is for the Chiefs to put up 7 first.
  7. True story. Besides, how much of what is discussed, even when it's relevant, is actually insightful.
  8. The important things in life, sex and politics. LOL
  9. Allen threw the ball more against KC earlier this season than in any other game this season. With Rapp & TJ questionable we cannot afford to let Mahomes take advantage and go up there. Balance in our approach would be good, but with our playoff history, it makes perfect sense to let the strength of this team for 6 seasons now, and the best in the league, do his thing and not simply hope that our running game comes out swinging. If we go up by 10+ and the passing game is having limited effect, then great, run more, but it makes sense to do everything possible to have this offense humming going into the Super Bowl. Philly, the likely opponent, will be a tougher out than KC.
  10. Several thoughts here, from someone that's researched this extensively. Your concern is valid, but at the same time, listening to Bernard after the game, he said that the coaches focused on forcing TOs all week. It's something that they've done all year per the pressers and the like. So from that perspective, if it's a "taught" thing, it's good. There are only five games this season in which we were equal in TOs, none in which we were negative. We were 3-2 in those games, which were Cardinals (1-1), Fins (1-1), and Broncos (0-0), the Wins, and the Losses, Baltimore (1-1) and Rams (0-0). While discounting the throwaway Pats game, the meaningless Loss, two of our three losses were games in which we were even in TOs. The other loss was to Houston where we were +2 in TO margin. Of the seven playoff teams we've played, including playoffs, in the four games in which we had a positive TO margin, we were 3-1 with our only loss having been to the aforementioned Texans. We all know the reasons why there. In the three games against playoff teams in which we were even in TO margin, we were 1-2; Losses to the Ravens and Rams, and a win over Denver in the WC Round. In four of those seven games were were significantly outplayed in Total Yardage among other metrics. Yesterday for example, we were outplayed. We allowed 416 Total Yards while logging only 273 ourselves; with Jackson nearly doubling Allen's passing yardage with 2 passing TDs to Allen's 0 and while posting rating of nearly 30 points better; and with the Ravens still outrushing us. Discounting the meaningless season ender v. the Pats, it was our third worst total yards performance on the season, worst passing performance, and our rushing performance was about average for us. You're not going to win many more games if that's all we do offensively without generating TOs, to your point. However, next up is KC which is a shell of the team that won two straight Super Bowls. They have no RB worthy of note, their leading receiver is a 35-year past-prime TE that topped out at 823 Yards and 3 TDs on a meager 8.5 YPR. Put Milano on him and that essentially takes care of that. After that their leading WR is a role-playing rookie that's averaged 6 targets and 3-1/2 catches per game for 638 yards and 6 TDs on also a relatively meager 10.8 YPR considering that he's a flyer. Then there's Hopkins who's averaged 3 catches for 22 yards over the past five games. We've complained about our WRs, but our crew is All-star compared to theirs. The big question is whether we continue to approach games conservatively as we did yesterday, Complimentary Football as defined by our team, or is Allen unleashed. Clearly the weather favored the more conservative approach yesterday. It's a fair bet that we approach that game differently. With Rapp and TJ's statuses unknown, Mahomes should be able to post a good game regardless of his less than notable WR corps, particularly since we can't count on our pass rush against KC's excellent OL. Having said that, we hung 30 points on KC the first go-round and the Chiefs have only scored 30 against any playoff team that they've played once, and they've averaged 27 PPG against those playoff teams not including that last game vs. Denver. At the end of the day, those TOs and their "buy a ticket" theme has been coached, with rousing success it should be added. Whatever works, and it's worked generally speaking although not quite as well vs. playoff teams. We should win this game and I'll step out and suggest a double-digit win. But if we come out and play conservatively and limit the strength of this team in this era, then it may not be the best approach to start the game, particularly if Mahomes can take advantage of TJ and Rapp injuries and put up some points early. Assuming that we win, the Super Bowl opponent should be a more difficult matchup. So, LOL, the short answer to your concern is that it's valid, but to date it hasn't been as much of an issue as it could have been. They're also obviously going to continue to focus on generating takeaways and limiting our own giveaways. GO BILLS!!!
  11. Since we won, but it came down to the wire. Had we lost everyone's sentiment would be entirely different. Besides, I was commenting on BidsJr.'s comment that McD took the ball out of Allen's hands at the end of the game. The point is that was never really in his hands per se. That was the third fewest Attempts he's had all season. (SF, @Miami) It's one of three without a passing TD. (@ Balt, @Indy)
  12. Was it ever in Allen's hands, the game that is? He went 16 of 22 for 127, 0 passing TDs.
  13. The Ravens had drives of 93, 88, 80, 73, and 57, four of them resulting in scores, 3 TDs and a FG. We had drives of 70, 70, 52, 37, and 24, all resulting in scores, 3 TDs and two FGs.
  14. LOL Yeah, but why let good strawmen ruin great arguments. LOL
  15. We'll even give him Ranch with his wings if that's how he prefers them.
  16. Just sayin'. In other games it might be wise to use him much earlier.
  17. Agreed, but let's not forget him though and think that we can run four games w/o him, eh.
  18. Cohort You still can't own up to your own statement, can ya. Try some integrity some time. Talk about being sad.
  19. I don't know about the worse talent part. Personally I'd take Allen over Mahomes, our offensive skill position talent is notably better, the OLs let's say are comparable, marginally different at worst. Defensively is where they have an edge. Coaching as well. We definitely have more pressure, particularly going in at 4-0 v. them in the RS but 0-3 in the PS. 4-0/0-4 would be a horrific look. I'd bet we win, but who knows. As to 8989 saying we're healthy, not sure what Taron's status will be, have we heard anything? Looked like a dislocated shoulder to me, if that's what it was he won't be playing next week in every likelihood. Fortunately KC isn't loaded at WR.
  20. Right. All the times I've said I'd be upset if we won a Super Bowl instead of saying the exact opposite, that I wouldn't care how it came as long as we won one. I'll never put anyone on ignore, but quit avoiding your own statement. Otherwise, seriously, do you really believe yourself? That if we were to beat KC next week and go on to beat either Philly or Washington in the Super Bowl, that anyone here would actually be whining? What a cynical demeanor.
  21. Agreed I'd be nervous if we were favored. I'd rather be a 7 point dog for this one. Who cares what the masses think anyway, that's how the odds are determined.
  22. If we play our best game, make sure that Allen's involved in the passing game, there's no reason why we can't win this by 14+. KC put up a mere 212 Total Yards against Houston, their running game hasn't been clicking lately, and a 35-year old TE put up most of their relevant yards. Put Milano on Kelce and force them to go elsewhere.
  23. Just f'n get it done on Sunday night! Get this damned 0-3 KC Playoff monkey off our backs.
  24. Oh, sorry, I didn't know that I wasn't happy. Thanks for letting me know. What, people are capable of only a single sentiment or emotion simultaneously now, or what. When we need psychiatric help we'll be sure to summon you. Stop insisting that there's ANYONE here that would "whine" when we win the Super Bowl. It's simply childish.
