  1. That's fair. Allen isn't what's holding this team up, but here's how I see it, which aligns with your statements. Again, this is MY OPINION based upon the circumstantial evidence. Allen is a pretty simple guy, and by simple I mean pretty down to earth. Fame/fortune hasn't seemed to alter him like it does so many that have what he's gotten. He's also incredibly bright, and, this is key, he too knows what's going on behind the scenes with the team etc., but he's also classy enough to keep it in house. He loves golf, to the extent that, again, IMO, if he could choose between professional golf and football, he'd have chosen golf. He spends his entire offseason golfing, around the world now, by his own statements. He's looking forward to a nice post-retirement where he can play golf, not one in which he's so beat up that it pains and hurts him to play golf. His playing style, meaning all the running that the team encourages to make up for it's failures and inadequacies in their offensive ... regimen let's just say, isn't going to be possible in several more seasons, say once he exits his prime in five years or so. Unless he has a stellar OL and top WRs to make his life easier, I see him retiring early to play golf and enjoy his retirement, particularly if he continues on with Steinfeld. I'll add another perspective to it. We, meaning McBeane, and realizing that Beane is at least somewhat directed by McD, the guy that essentially hired him, haven't exactly done much to ensure that our generational franchise QB gets all the tools and protection that he needs. Put another way, the team in that way is no different than Allen taking the summers off to play golf, right. So maybe he's "taking a cue" from that and that's his way of quietly saying, you guys aren't doing anything to create the offense that I'd like to lead, or much to help me, while you're perenially tinkering with your D trying to maintain its #1 status, despite the fact that it plays like the 20th ranked status in the playoffs while I kill myself trying to win in the playoffs while simultaneously taking ALL of the media heat for failing to do so, while our illustrious head coach takes nearly none, so why should I do anything more in the interests of our offense when my efforts aren't being met as it is by the team/staff. That's just MO, I'm sure I'll be told how wrong it is, no need to people to jump on it. But, and I've never said this before here, but my position is that he's not going to be playing beyond his current contract. He's got more than enough money, his family isn't hurting and has their own business, his squeeze may have more than he has, he hates the stuff that comes with fame and wants to be down-to-earth, not a hoity spotlight type but can't right now. We'll see how it shakes out, but IMO the team's digging its own grave with him in that way.
  2. LOL, Samuel's had plenty of opportunity to be HUGE and has never even sniffed those results. 7 seasons to be precise. The trade compensation was this year's 6th and next year's 2nd and 5th. And you're right, Samuel's role is now HUGE, but honestly, anyone expecting that to materialize in the way that we need is going to be incredibly disappointed.
  3. When Brady proves to be no better than Dorsey it's going to be a riot listening to everyone talking about how it's because he didn't have Diggs. You honestly can't make a lot of what's forthcoming up.
  4. I wasn't making any assessment of who's better, just stating our starters. But OK, swap Halmer for Shorter, so Shakir, who played Slot last season, now at wide, Samuel, who has to play Slot, and Hamler. Is that an encouraging starting WR corps? LOL People criticized and slammed our past WR corps, this should be a real hoot with the sentiments if it isn't seriously upgraded.
  5. OK, but move up with what? We gonna trade away next year's first in a draft that's chock full of WRs? We got a 6th this year, which is worthless for any such trade. The 2nd next year is hardly a golden carrot. The 5th next year is also worthless for a trade. So out of curiosity, what do you think we trade to move up? We have a 28th overall, a 60th overall, then again starting in the late 4th and day-3, which are generally useless for such a trade.
  6. It certainly raises questions as to what else they've lied and are currently lying about in the most secretive Bills organization in history.
  7. Diggs will talk too, which is going to make this even more interesting. Grab the popcorn ... LOL
  8. FWIW, our starting WRs are currently Shakir, Samuel, and Shorter. If we don't use our 1st-rounder on a WR now ... SMFH
  9. So much for the "all is well between Diggs & the team" lies.
  10. 😂 Not jumping in on this congenial discussion, but that's hilarious.
  11. We also know with 100% certainly that the secrecy that you mention stems from him.
  12. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
  13. Wow, I did not know that.
  14. Scalper crackdown? What, they're going after Ticketmaster?
  15. That's an interesting comment, because some fans have taken into consideration that once the new stadium is open, Allen will be sniffing his back-9 and most of what they pay for could quote easily be another drought era. Just sayin' as I know it's been mentioned here as well. It's not as if it's a big secret. The question of course is to what extent, if at all, sales will be hindered. We won't know until the process is finished, or at least well underway.
  16. It is a matter of perspective, but keep in mind the TV option. I personally enjoy the view from the uppers, it offers a better whole-field-of-view view, but not everyone values that. There have been a lot of comments about watching on TV instead. Again, who knows, but watching it unfold is incredibly interesting for Buffalo.
  17. Well, if 3 in 4 renew, that'd be 75% of 70k or so, or 53k. Figure then that 3 in 4 on the waiting list are still interested, they'll have nearly sold out based on that. As Kirby Jackson says, may simply be a vocal minority. My view stems from just a handful, maybe 6-8 people that I know that currently have STs. Only one says he'll pay more to attend games, didn't even mention the section. The others have expressed that they've been turned off by the rising prices as it's been, but they're at their limits cost wise. Who knows, maybe they'll change their tune. One interesting tidbit however in discussing with them, is them realizing that Allen's not going to be here forever, and that's a big part of it because none of them would think about paying the current asking prices if Allen weren't here now. I guess I'm simply associated with that vocal minority, even though I don't think that they've been vocal. LOL
  18. I think we'll have a clearer picture by the end of summer. It's interesting to watch unfold I must say. One thing's for sure, I'm always skeptical of "official numbers" for just about anything where something is being sold. LOL Reminds me of this ...
  19. I was more referring to people in the clubs or lower level that would pay the same but have to move to the uppers for example. In short, what does what someone is paying now, get them in the new arena. Of the relatively small number of people that I know, most are average Bills fans, none live elsewhere and fly in regularly for games for example. LOL They live in the region, have moderate incomes, etc. From what they're told me, and what a bunch of people have said here over the past year or two, is that they're at the limits of what they're willing to pay. They swallow the annual price increases with some "kicking of the dog," but they've said that if the prices go up much more they're out. Those are the ones that I'm talking about. What are face value for lower level sideline tix right now what, $200/game? IDK, seriously asking. So say $1,600 per seat. That amount may get them mezzanine level corners or lower level end-zones, but according to them they're not willing to pay that much for those seats. On top of that there's the approx. $3-5k PSL which is more than they've told me they're willing to pay. Maybe the percentage of people that I know with STs aren't a good cross section, who knows. As stated, it is definitely going to get interesting. I see some consternation and resentment down the road. I'm so glad that I only do secondary market tix anymore. LOL
  20. Yeah, and it seems to be getting more interesting now. As to people downgrading, there have been a ton of comments about people saying that they're not downgrading for more money. Again, simply sharing what we're reading, who knows, could all be smoke, but I'm not as convinced as you are that they'll sell out so easily. Good thing they're doing this now while Allen's at the top of his game. LOL
  21. According to their survey, they had the Lower Bowl between the '40s, no heat or coverage obviously, at $9k and the seat prices at $2,280, or just under $300/game. It seems as if there's been price inflation since they released their survey about two years ago, so $10k sounds about right. It's a good guess that the tix are up over $300/game now too.
  22. Not taking sides here, but official reports had only several hundred people coming through to date. Obviously they're the high-level moneybags. It's certainly curious whether the next level of tix shares the same level of success as their stated 75%, if that's even true. What we do know is that even here many fans have expressed that they're not going to renew, many with the simple price increases but most with the PSLs and clearly notably higher prices. Here's the thing, many of the non-moneybags buy STs because they're a good deal here in Buffalo, soon to be not so good a deal. I hear what you're saying, and frankly, I don't understand all the derision and strife here among posters for what should be a simple honest discussion, that they'll sell out easily. But more fans here even have said that they're not going to be paying PSLs and notably higher prices in the new stadium, also elsewhere. And again, of the handful of STHs that I know, few are planning on paying those PSLs and prices, whatever they are, understanding that they'll be significantly higher than they are now. Maybe they weren't telling the truth, who knows. But taking them at face value ... So while I understand what you're saying, if all of those people are telling the truth, what are the odds that there are so many ready to backfill behind them that don't hold similar views? Otherwise, where are the people that will sell the place out in STs going to come from? Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I'm seriously asking here, rhetorically apparently, but maybe you know from experience. I'm going by the prevailing winds however, which seemingly strongly suggest that they're going to have difficulties selling once they get out of the high-fallutin' moneybag sections and clubs. Many will "downgrade," I understand that, but many have also said that they're not going to downgrade (sections) if there's no heat/coverage. That's why this is so interesting and fascinating as to how it plays out.
  23. So Allen not working harder during the offseason, which even I won't dispute, then equals him being the reasons for our playoff losses. Sure. OK. SMH Discussing this with you is like playing whack-a-mole in terms of what the particular focus of the discussion is. Sorry, but there's no "hero worship," but blaming Allen when he's been the only reason why we've even won any playoff games, besides possibly one, is absurd.
  24. That's a ridiculous statement. Claiming that Allen's among what is holding us back ... SMH LOL Allen damn near best the Chiefs in '21 by himself.
  25. Agree, it's complex. That overlaps with my comment. That fear of losing their seats, it's not reasonable that everyone thinks they're going to get pretty much exactly the same seats because the new stadium will be so much different. That's not even a possibility. It's obvious. As to why they're doing it this way, that's immaterial. It is what it is, but that doesn't make it "fair" or ethical. When I said "menu", by no means did I mean then opening it up to a free-for-all in sales, but simply post the varying PSL/ST process for all to see so that people can prepare. There has to be some process to keep it under control. Not saying that's entirely practical either. It seems that people want to know, when their "turn" comes up, we want to be in (this, this, or that) section, what do you have there? kinda thing, and based upon what they can afford without being pressured into spending more than they were prepared to spend. We'll see, I'm still expecting much more drama. Personally I don't care, I'm not paying for a PSL nor buying Seasons, so it doesn't really apply to me. I do know quite a few fans that have been STHs who've told me that they're out now, and there's no shortage of them here either saying the same. It should be interesting.
