Well, again, we just allowed the Chiefs their best offensive performance on the season. Better than they did against low ranked Ds like the 32nd ranked Carolina and several other teams ranked in the bottom 10 defensively.

With McNabb and Vick
-
What talent does KC have on offense for them to have posted their best offensive outting on the season?
-
Here's the thing, you (generically) envision another coach coming in here and what, not winning, not winning this crap division in spite of having Allen? A coach would have to be blind, deaf, and stupid not to post winning seasons, and at least third of the teams in this league, as they are, could win our division. KC, LAC, DEN, Cincy, Balt, Houston, Washington, Philly, Detroit, GB, Minny, Tampa, LAR, Seattle, and maybe even a couple of others.

Well, and you said it, against good teams when we don't have a TO edge, we're a 50/50 team at best. -

Belichick believes Kelce is the Chiefs offense
PBF81 replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Houston would killed the Chiefs w/o Kelce. No one else did anything on offense. Kelce was responsible for 117 of KC's meager 212 total yards. -
Again, context within the thread. Not every post addresses the OP. If you're going to comment on his pro career while responding to my statement about his status in the Draft, that's on you.
-
Context. My original comment was about coming out of college and rankings in major draft profiles. Trying to prove a point by moving the goalposts from the original basis is bad form. But, to your point, LaPorta was also used a whole lot differently than Kincaid was, clearly. That isn't obvious, ... and a part of the discussion and issue? Let's stay focused here.
-
LaPorta's college max was 670 yards & 3 TDs, in his junior season. Those decreased to 657/1 in his senior season. So not sure where you're getting those numbers. Kincaid had 890 yards and 8 TDs as a senior. According to just about every (never say never/all) major draft profile, Kincaid was the better overall receiver as a TE. I don't recall a single major site that had LaPorta listed as likely to go higher than Kincaid. They also didn't draft Kincaid to block, they drafted him all but purely for his receiving abilities. That kid Mayer from Notre Dame was rated higher than LaPorta in some draft profile rankings as well. Injuries have a little to do with it, but it's clearly our system that limits all receivers, by design, because that's what they told us not in those words. Seemingly some of it has to do with McD's insistence on running more, which has generally worked well against crap teams, generally not so well against the better teams with an exception or two. A good guess as to why is so that they don't have to shell out big bucks for a top-name WR.
-
Perhaps it's because Allen's Completions, Attempts, and Yards in our new system are down by about 20% across the board there. Everybody Eats, but no one's getting more than sustenance rations. Kincaid was the most prolific receiving TE in his draft class. It's pretty inconceivable that those receiving skills don't diminish overnight. The bigger concern is why did we draft a TE with those credentials in round 1 if all we were going to do was turn him into an "everybody eats" TE to put up average numbers for a TE. Shakir's only put up 200 more yards than he did last season with Diggs and Davis here taking his opps. Could be methodology/system. Which receiver, TE or WR, on this team has been overwhelming or even above average. Short answer, none. But that's by design, agree with it or not.

Whatever you do, don't be aroused by the uniform choices. Bad look. You beat me by seconds. LOL
-
The Chiefs hit 30 points only once this season, that was against Carolina which thanks DFL in both yardage and scoring D. KC has the 15th ranked Scoring Offense. Denver the 10th ranked & Baltimore the 3rd ranked. If we can't put up 30 and hold them to 24 or fewer then we don't deserve to advance. In our first game we held them to 259 total yards, Mahomey to 181 passing yards, and 19 total 1st-Downs. It shouldn't surprise anyone if this is Kelce's last season.
-
Not the point, but agreed. Then it shouldn't be heralded as some kind of monumental achievement. Brady had the run of the mill in similar fashion for 20 years. It helped them tremendously with seeding come playoff time.
-
Winning our division isn't exactly a monumental challenge. A lot of teams would win it regularly given the state it's in.
-
That right there! This Chiefs team is a shell of the one over the past four years. Kelce's nearing retirement, their good at most things but not great at anything in particular. No great RB, no great WR. Their offense hasn't performed well against to defenses this season, of the few that they've played. They haven't put up more than 30 all year in regulation, when they put up 30 it was v. Carolina. Their defense is very good but hardly superlative. If we can't beat them now ... It's the Super Bowl Matchup that will a be tougher matchup.

Is that the message in the locker room this week ya think?

Personally, this Ravens matchup is my "McDermott Game."

The national media narrative since the Bills won
PBF81 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed, and we also tend to blow big games when we get ahead of ourselves. The way that the games have fallen here ensures that's not likely to occur. Which is a good thing. As I said at the beginning of the season, I'd rather go 9-8, get in as a Wild Card, then run 4 straight to win a Lombardi. Rather that than another division win and ouster in the D-Round. Who cares how, and yeah, some luck would be nice, particularly given some of the horrid luck we've had over the years, but let's just get it done! -

There's way too much as it is and the number keeps increasing. At some point it's all noise.

Oh, and that bubble-screen play, .... SMFH. I think it was to Knox but I can't remember. As soon as I saw it setting up I said to myself WTF. Hopefully no more of that nonsense either.
