Here's the thing, and here's why the reason for our playoff futility is obvious despite a lack of clarity for a lot of people, but who in our playoffs has consistently been a factor in the playoffs for us, on either side of the ball, besides Allen? The short answer is no one. Davis comes the closest, he and Allen are singlehandedly responsible for our best playoff game and the one deepest in the playoffs also. There isn't a single player on the team, including Diggs, that has even approached being consistent, not one. There's a core reason for that, but many choose to ignore it. Not much we can do anyway, but as they say, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results ...

Rather than the whole being greater than the sum of its parts, we've been fortunate to get the sum of the parts, often less than the sum of the parts. Brady was a master at the short-medium high-percentage passing game. That's why he was so good in large part. Allen's the worst of the best at that, easily. With the case we have, he'll have to master that right quickly. Otherwise, this team has no identity on Offense besides letting Allen run loose when we can't beat teams with our talent differential alone because our offense lacks any creativity and because our defense folds like origami as someone pointed out. The question is why it lacks offensive creativity. The answer is obvious, some simply have their fingers in their ears and hands over their eyes. Sometimes, often in fact, it's not entirely what you have, it's how you use it.

Factor in whether Cook's even up for a full NFL season in running the ball. Over his last five games his rushing average plummeted from 5.2 to 3.6.

What else do you notice about all three that may be the primary difference? HINT: particularly that we're talking about TE & Receivers more generally.

Because Allen's so efficient with the screen pass. LOL If that's the direction that they're going than they're pretty stupid. That hardly plays to Allen's base skillset and it'll show. There no obvious plan and whatever it is that they're "planning," if it actually is a plan of some sort and not merely shooting from the hip, it's a complete departure from what they've done over the past for seasons seemingly. It should be concerning.

DJ Moore last season was better than anyone we have on the roster. Four and five seasons ago so was Allen Robinson.

Under Brady at Carolina, he had 97 targets, 18% of their attempts. FWIW That was his most efficient season ever. 851 yards, 3 TDs, but only three big games. The problem is with his other 6 seasons where his Catch-% is a miserable 63%, particularly given where his routes are run. It's pretty bad given that. He's also averaged just over 400 yards and 3 TDs per season in those other 6 seasons. Hopefully Brady can get him to max out. Allen didn't throw significantly more passes or log significantly more completions than Carolina did that season. There are a lot of curiosities going into this season.

That seems to have been the plan throughout McBeane's tenure here except that they once had a momentary lapse of reason and got out their checkbook on a risk.

I think that our overall plan maybe to stun other teams by starting double TEs and three slot WRs and a FB/heavy-TB. By the time the opponents compose themselves, we'll be up 9-7 in the 2nd-half. With our retro "complimentary football" approach, that may be all we need to glide into the postseason and onto our first Lombardi. Quaking LOL Meanwhile, Vegas odds on whether our last year's 5th-rounder Shorter even makes the team; What Claypool's 5th team in 6 years will be next season; Whether Coleman's telling jokes at the end of the season as well; Whether Samuel's still on Brady's Christmas card list by the end of the season.

Shorter, a mid-5th rounder last year, is turning into a real bargain. LOL
