You're right, Beane's drafts have been nothing short of solid. As you were. I really don't want to argue this anymore, you obviously have an immovable position, whatever it is. 🙂
-
There's no comparison in the lines. Give it up.
-
LMAO, you comparing Philly's drafts to ours now? Hope about Philly's OL? DL? Front-7? Good one.
-
Just texting with a friend of mine, we wouldn't at all be surprised if we didn't even win the division. We're set to regress some.
-
Don't worry, "Trust the Process," be patient, and let the youngsters at HC & GM have another decade to learn.
-
Agree, but that's what happens when you how a coach and allow him too how good own GM, and one that hasn't earned the role. I've been saying the same, something stinks here, and I bet that it's in McD's contact.
-
LMAO ... Good one!

I didn't even bother watching. The Super Bowl is nothing but a pop-culture phenomena, much more than it is a sporting event, and the NFL has made it that way deliberately, I typically don't bother watching. If the Bills were in it, I would obviously watch it, but I'd have to hold my nose and would turn it off at halftime. Otherwise, to me it's no different than any other game that's on on the weekend. If the Bills ever moved, I'd be able to count on one hand the number of major-league sporting events I'd watch in a year, with fingers to spare.
-
That's funny, so has the coaching on this team, and the drafting if we want to go there too. Strangely, I'm sure that there's a connection.

The importance of a great OL is a new concept at OBD and for Beane and McD in particular. Be patient though, "Trust the Process," and give 'em another decade. They'll figure it out eventually. Maybe by then Allen will be the OC.

We're not doing the best that we can in the playoffs with the talent that we do have. That's a coaching issue.

The Super Bowl winning team just gave up 35 points in a Championship game.
PBF81 replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
They also needed 14 points courtesy of their D and STs to simply be in it. They were lucky to win. They were also severely outplayed by them offensively. As well, they also gave up 35 to the second highest scoring team in the league, not one TD less to a team with a JV OL or four points less to a team with a 7th-round rookie QB with almost no starts. -
Sean is not a bad coach, just a bad fit for this team and era

Get over it? Bills fans have been getting over it for decades. "Wide right!", "Music City miracle", "13-Seconds" on McD's watch. That's your standard? Otherwise, allow me to play devil's advocate with you a little bit here. We're talking about McD being defensive minded, and you're talking about his highly ranked D's in his defense. Given your position, how do you explain the following: In 2020, us allowing 38 points to KC, while Cleveland and their 21st-ranked D only allowed them 22, and the Bucs and their 8th-ranked D only 9 in the playoffs? And we allowed more yards and points than either? 2021, of "13 Seconds" infamy, our. #1 ranked D allowing 36 in regulation, while the Bengals' 17th ranked D allowed only 24, and Pitt's 20th ranked D allowing only 6 more with 42, AND with us allowing WAY more yards than either of them? Let's ignore that "13 Seconds" for now. And of course this past season, our 2nd-ranked D allowing 31 to a team led by a 3rd-string QB, and 27 to a team with a JV OL? Meanwhile, the Chiefs and their 16th-ranked D held the same Bengals to 20 and over 100 fewer yards. A lot of this is perspective. Many see an established pattern here despite whatever regular season ranking or D has. Why would that change, particularly as our defensive talent diminishes? Common sense suggests that it won't. -
How do the Bills win the Super Bowl next year?

Yup, I couldn't agree more, but Vegas is one thing, reality another. -

How do the Bills win the Super Bowl next year?
PBF81 replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
The odds of that are remote. We can't even get straight answers from Mr. Integrity, our head coach, as to who's D it is. The odds of Holcomb superceding both of them are slim to nil. The offense has at least shown that it's capable of playing at a high enough level in the playoffs to win a Super Bowl. The D on the other hand has not, and is set to get worse. -

It's been said that doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results is the definition of insanity. Our defense simply doesn't show up in the playoffs, as a rule now. BUT, off it doesn't show up, then we're not winning anything. Really only two dots to connect. The reasons are clear too many and don't need to continue to be discussed ad nauseum. The coaching and design limitations and failures of the offense can be worked around, but with the defense giving games away in the playoffs every season, is not going to happen, particularly as key players age and leave. Poyer and Von Miller were both brought her as free agents, they weren't drafted. We don't have the resources to restock the D as we have, and Beane's drafting ain't cuttin' the Weber's. -
Frazier: The hard FACTS on why many of us want a change.
PBF81 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Obviously Terry can, but he won't. As to his seat being hot, it will be next season if one or more of several things happen/don't-happen. A. We don't win the division. What's seemed like a lock for years all of a sudden doesn't seem so gimme. B. We don't get at least to the AFC CG. C. Our defense regresses significantly, which I can easily see occurring. Von Miller's finished as an above-average player. He'll be lucky at 34 to come back 100%, then he's still fighting age issues, but that's not even likely. He'll diminish from there. If Edmunds leaves, LOL, we don't even have two starting caliber LBs. Poyer was huge on the defense, his absence will be felt. Otherwise, some fans can see that McD's limitations aren't going to improve. Why should they, he doesn't even hold his coaching staff accountable. As Dirty Harry said, a man's got to know his limitations. McD doesn't know his. Some people catch on sooner than others. Their performance in the playoffs on their watch, unless they play an offense bereft team like the Pats, has been horrendous. -

Pegula will never say anything and Beane's not going to fire the guy that got him a GM job he didn't earn. I'm starting to think that there's something in McD's contract that let's him run the show at OBD. -

He coordinates the passing game, ... come on. Don't worry, he'll be the one that gets fired next year as the scapegoat, ... if it's not the concessions manager that is. That's OK, they can pay me whatever he's getting to point the finger at me. I'm up for it. -
The Von Miller trade was a swing for the fences with risks. If he was correct, it may have propelled us to a SB win. If not, then clearly there would be significant set-backs. The assumption underlying the trade was that the singular piece missing from our inability to win it all was a premier pass-rusher. The upside, if everything went right, then we'd win a Super Bowl. The drawback, any number of things could go wrong: diminished performance, that particular piece not being the "singular piece," or injury to a 33-year old player. The risks obviously played out whereas the benefits did not. Here's my take: Had any of the following of Beane's draft picks worked out to above-average performance at the pass-rushing position, then he wouldn't have needed to take that risk: Rousseau 1st round, Basham 2nd round, Epenesa 2nd round, Oliver trade-up high 1st-round. Neither did any of his free-agent acquisitions. Now we have soon-to-be 34-year old OLB/DE that hasn't played to a premier level in several seasons (last one having been 2018), and coming off of an ACL repair. The odds of him being above-average next season are not good, if he even hits the field for week 1. At 34 he's only going to diminish. So at the end of the day it turned out to be a bad move. The risks were hardly unknown however, so it was a swing for the fences, but a miss.

Frasier doesn't seem to understand what Yards-AFTER-the-Catch are. That should be a terminal liability for a DC.
