  1. I can't tell if you're being humorous or not. Either way, we'll find out soon enough. Would the Giants pay more than we would? I can see them grabbing a player we cut, permanently, but if you're Gilliam and the choice is Buffalo or NY (either team), to me that choice is easy, particularly given that Allen is here. All I'm saying is that I don't envision the team carrying Gilliam at the $2M+ he's currently on contract for.
  2. I don't disagree as he's the only FB on the roster, so if they keep one, he's it, but I'd wager against it, heavily, at his current contact value of $2M. If they really want a FB he's the only option now. But it's a bit of a reach to think that there won't be another FB on the market after cuts that can do what Gilliam does. To imagine otherwise it's too suggest that he's somehow special. Are you saying that he is special? If not, then that seems to fit the definition of expendable. Agree with you on Isabella however. We'll find out soon.
  3. I'll make a friendly wager with you that Gilliam doesn't make it at his current contact, if he does, he'll be brought back at something much closer to vet min. He defines expendable. Then how come he's hardly ever on the field? And what's so special about him as a FB that can't be found on waivers after cuts?
  4. Common sense right there! 👍👍
  5. I'm confused, you're 100% confident he'll make the cut at the $2M he's slated to get?
  6. $2M this season for a player that saw an average of 12 snaps/game, never carried the ball, and had 8 receptions. That diminished as the season wore on, averaging 9 in his last 9 games. In the playoffs he was on the field for 11 snaps in both games and never had a target or a carry. That's an expensive role-playing blocker. I wouldn't bet a nickel that he makes it thru Cuts. I can see him being released and possibly brought back for less, but $2M for what he brings seems like poor management. I'd also like to watch the plays he did play too see what he had to do. For a blocker every six plays that never runs the ball and gets one target every other game, I'd like to think that they could come up with another option that doesn't cost $2M. Just my two cents.
  7. Take Kelce off the Chiefs' list and IMO they're bottom three if not DFL. They're lucky to be ranked where they are. IMO KC's going back to being a midling top-10 offense at best this season, where they were the three years prior to last year. If Kelce were to get injured, they're pretty much screwed without a trade of some sort.
  8. To your point, and these are just facts, no opinions. Belichick in all seasons w/o Brady, including the continuation of the first two games of the 2001 season before Mo Lewis set Belichick on the track to stardom, ... He was 77-87 in the regular season (.470), 78-89 (.467) total including playoffs. He was 1-2 in the Playoffs having made the playoffs only twice during those 10 seasons. Despite being heralded as a defensive genius, with the #1 Scoring Defense in Cleveland the year that he made the playoffs, and with the #2 Scoring Defense in 2021 when he made the playoffs, his defenses allowed an average of 453 Yards and 38 points in his two playoff losses. His only playoff win was against the Bledsoe-led Patriots in '94. Bledsoe is one the worst playoff QBs in NFL history who led the league in INTs that season, his second, with 27, 8 more than the QB with the next most INTs. Over those 10 seasons his average Scoring Offense ranked 17th, Yardage Offense 19th, Scoring D 11th, Yardage D 13th. In 1994, the only year that his defense in Cleveland ranked much above average, he had the easiest schedule in the AFC and the 2nd easiest schedule in the NFL. In his only two other winning seasons, 2008 and 2020, he had the 5th and 4th easiest schedules in the NFL. (Side note: In 2020 four of the five easiest schedules in the NFL were our division with us having had the easiest) Head Coaches with comparable winning percentages that during the same time period from 1991 on ... Rex Ryan, 127 Games, (.480), 4-2 in the Playoffs, 2 appearances Lovie Smith, 193 Games, (.479) 3-3 in the Playoffs, 3 appearances Marchibroda, 186 Games, (.470) 2-4 in the Playoffs, 4 appearances Ray Rhodes, 80 Games, (.469) 1-2 in the Playoffs, 2 appearances (Identical to Belichick, in half the seasons) Jerry Glanville, 129 Games, (.465) 3-4 in the Playoffs, 4 appearances Belichick, 164 Games, (.470) 1-2 in the Playoffs, 2 appearances Not one of those coaches had better QBs than Belichick's had to work with apart from Brady. Enter Opinion: That speaks for itself. Belichick is two coaches. One no better than those listed above, and then the one that he gets credit for being with Brady on his team. The problem is that while Belichick has done anything but succeed without Brady, Brady has succeeded equally without Belichick. In New England he won 6 Super Bowls in 19 seasons, about 1 SB for every 3 seasons. In Tampa, and at the ages of 43, 44, an 45, he led the Bucks to the playoffs and won a SB, again, in his mid-40s, one in three seasons. Everyone can make of it what they want. I would strongly suggest however that we've ditched coaches here for less, and had McD turned that record here, he wouldn't be here now.
  9. Indeed. My take on that is that McD, having been both a DB as well as a DBs Coach, has as good a bead on talent there as anyone ever. Unfortunately when it comes to DL and LB, not nearly as tight.
  10. The proper way to analyze this would be to put each of those plays on a video reel and find out why the situation exists. Only then can one know why, and by percentages, those plays broke down.
  11. If we build a giant wooden badger ...
  12. Funny you say that, I pointed out in a thread somewhere, I think about the "Top 5 Teams" thread, that Philly had an incredibly easy schedule last year. So yeah, I agree. And on the note of their roster, which we agree on, to whom more is given, more is also expected in this context.
  13. Nick Sirriani's from Jamestown, NY also.
  14. He certainly seems to be doing a decent job thus far. Other than QB I'd trade rosters.
  15. Seems OK so far though. We haven't heard anything about his short game being a problem. No need to worry until we need to worry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  16. Yeah, it came back to me now that you said that. As to last season, in fairness he had TJ Edwards in front of him on the depth chart. Edwards was in his fourth season. That's proper planning BTW. I'm bullish on Dean though. I really wish we'd have drafted him. Ah well, offense is going to carry this team henceforth, presumably Beane will continue to draft some OL-men in rounds 1 & 2 if not 1 outright. I really see the KC offense taking a step back, and I don't see any other offense at the moment in the AFC anyway, that's should outperform ours. I'm not 100% sold on McGovern, but liking what Torrence brings in his first snaps as a pro. He and Williams are the two I'm focusing on in the preseason. If our OL can hold together and push for top-10 status, I really see great things offensively this season.
  17. Of course, I thought that wasn't it tho? What do you mean; African or European swallow? What? I don't know that! AHHHHH!!!
  18. Now I'm really curious! ??
  19. OBD Feats of Strength forthcoming!
  20. LMAO!! You've just gotta love his sense of humor!
  21. Jeffery Simmons was the AFC Defensive Player of the Week that week. Not sure what Simmons did. Oddly, Allen was the AFC OPW But he and Edmunds both started that game as well, again, as the only two LBs starting. Klein had a Sack/FF/FR on 3rd-and-2, with 6:35 left and us up by 14, resulting in us getting the ball at Seattle's 19. We were unable to convert a TD but settled for a FG to put us up by 17. Seattle scored on the following drive. Klein also had a sack two drives earlier on 2nd-and-15 that set-up a 3rd-and-25 on which Tre made an INT. The Chargers game was a better game for Klein though. Not that I'm aware of. I know he was a terror at UGA. He's starting for the Eagles at MLB this season. We'll see how he does. I'm expecting great things from him.
  22. Did he at least take his jersey off and leave the field in a huff shirtless?
  23. Once in 2020. Edmunds & Klein both started that game as the only 2 LBs to start. He posted 1.5 Sacks, 3 TFL, and 2 QB Hits against the Chargers which were 7-9 that season. What's most telling to me about Klein, today, is that in his last 543 defensive snaps since then, he has no significant stats. 0 Sacks, 6 TFL, and 2 QB Hits. I'm tellin' ya, not taking Nakobe Dean instead of Cook last year is going to prove to have been a mistake. Cook may even have been available in the 3rd round. Oh well. Water under the bridge.
