  1. The most encouraging part of the offense as I view it, is the play of the OL and the fact that our starting five are essentially taking all the snaps. No more rotating players. This is the first time on McBeane's watch that I recall that being the case. Our 5 starting OL-men each had 100% snaps last week. This week Brown and Torrence were at 100%, McGovern and Dawkins at 95%, and Morse at 92%, with Edwards, Van Demark, and Bates exclusively backing them up respectively. I didn't watch when the subs came, but presumably at the end of the game when it was well in hand. The relevance of that is incredible. For the first time in years we are likely going to have a level of chemistry along our OL and we're about to see what that looks like. That will help Allen's game tremdendously, and it goes without saying that the running game will be boosted significantly as well. I'm still incredibly bullish that this offense sets franchise records this season. It's too early to extrapolate projections, but I would not rule out both Diggs and Davis over 1,000, Kincaid appears to already be Allen's third favorite and we may yet see a 700-800 yard season from the rookie as he's apparently supplanted Knox in the receiving department. And Cook, great game. He's on pace for over 300 touches. Hopefully he holds up. Very exciting game yesterday. Currently Cook/Diggs/Davis rank 8th, 21st, and 47th in Yards-from-Scrimmage. That's three players in the top-48. I'm anticipating all three finishing in the top-50 easily. And honestly, I don't care if we do go 10-7, even if it means a wild-card, but then sweep in the playoffs. Division wins aren't the goal, a Lombardi is. If our OL stays healthy though, dang, I'm giddy at the prospects for this offense.
  2. He's fine. Gotta keep the statements in context however. Go look at the overreactions to his signing. Again, if at the end of the season he has two or three hundred rushing yards and two or three TDs, I don't think anyone's going to be matching those claims much less suggesting that he was an indispensible part of the offense. If he weren't on the field yesterday it wouldn't have changed much in terms of the outcome. Someone else would scored on that or the next two plays. He's a backup, that's all. That's all he's going to be all season. The D we played was not good, they sucked last season. He's got 48 YFS to date. If he were to average that every two games he'll post about 400 YFS by season's end. I doubt he'll even do that. He's averaging 3.8 YPC on the season, which is low-end. Granted, only two games. Either way, our offense, and therefore our team, is going to go as our offense goes, and the biggest contributing factors there are going to be the OL, which has been much better than the preseason rankings generally speaking, Diggs, Davis (who's on pace for 1,000), Kincaid, Knox, and Cook/Harris. Allen of course too but that goes w/o saying. Reacting/over-reacting like this on a week-to-week basis is not good analysis on the season. LOL At the end of the day, Murray's a fine backup, but a backup nonetheless. Based on his age, almost 34, and his career 4.2 YPC history, which isn't likely to increase much at this point, his utility is limited. If Cook and Harris were to go down, we'd be looking for a replacement, he wouldn't cut it. There's very little NFL history to suggest otherwise. I used to like Murray a lot when he was on the Raiders. But at 34 his role is clearly as a backup/role-playing RB. That's not to say he won't make an exceptional play now and then, most players do. Framing them in a singular or all but singular manner, ... LOL And who knows, for those looking for others to be wrong, hey, I could be. But when he offers something significant over Cook/Harris in games against the better Ds that we face, then and only then will that be the case. Who knows, maybe he'll dig up the stamina to post 1,000 yard 5.6 YPC rushing season if Cook goes down. At the end of the day, I don't care if people are happy if someone else is wrong. I personally don't validate myself and derive any self-esteem from proving others wrong even if they are. I also don't mind if people do that at my seeming expense. My opinions on Murray have not wavered. If people misunderstand them, that's on them, I don't care. Also, as I said before the game in predicting this type of offensive performance for us, on D the Jets were brutal in their season/home opener, the Raiders easy in our home-opener. The truth as to how good our O is, and the individual players on it, will lie in how well we play the tougher defenses like Miami, NE, and Jax in the upcoming weeks. The schedule obviously gets tougher in the second half of the season. I suspect that our offense continues to improve, but no, I also don't anticipate Murray being an essential part of that improvement. As stated, how good our O ultimately is will come down to Allen/Diggs/Davis/Kincaid/Knox and Cook/Harris, and our OL in particular. Arguably the biggest positive generally speaking, to me anyway, is the high snap counts of our OL again. While not 100% across the board, both Brown, who played well, and Torrence were both at 100%, which is incredibly encouraging. Morse at 92%, and Dawkins and McGovern both at 95% is a fantastic sign as well. I wasn't really paying attention to the OL substitutions yesterday, but I'm gussing that Van Demark, Bates and Edwards all came in towards the end of the game to spell our seniors. LOL Washington shouldn't be too bad next week. The Miami game after that should reveal more as to what this team is all about.
  3. And BTW, think about how much time some of them spend chasing down the posts of others. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Again, whatever makes 'em happy. I'll play the villain if it does.
  4. Yeah, it should. I signed up for NFL+ though, went to get the A22, and it gave me an error notice saying that DAZN isn't supported in my country, which is the US obviously. So I cancelled it. Stunning that a corporation as large as the NFL with all of its resources can get a simple streaming thing down. Too busy making sure that their online gambling links are all working perfecty apparently.
  5. The number of people that thrive on slamming others ... Makes more of a statement about the ones doing that than anything else. Why not simply relish an all but perfect game in its aftermath. LOL ... People are funny. And what, when Murray has 200 rushing yards and a pair of TDs at year's end, that's going to be called "significant?" Well, OK. 31 yards from scrimmage in a singular game against one of the easier Ds we'll face all season, in our home opener, which was a rout, doesn't exactly make me change my mind. It shouldn't do much for you either.
  6. LOL, ahhh, let him have his fun. Honestly tho, crowing ovet a 6 carry for 22 yards performance, and 2 more catches for 9 yards, against an bottom defense though? 31 yards-from-scrimmage. I still say that he adds nothing significant. Any number of dime-a-dozen RBs would have had a great game yesterday. Our offense was fantastic. Cook on the other hand ... No complaints on any aspects of the game. No team is perfect on any given Sunday, I'd be thrilled with that offensive performance every week. If people need to validate themselves by proving others wrong in isolated instances, hey, great. Whatever makes 'em happy. I'll play the part for that. LOL
  7. Having said that, if the offense continues to play as it has, and can, then we should be fine. Granted, not the best D we played against, and we had the energy of a home opener supporting us, but the OL seems to be coming together in ways we haven't seen on McD's watch, and this offense has sick potential. It's effective and fun to watch. Hopefully it continues to improve and plays well against the tougher D's on the schedule.
  8. You can catch GR too via your phone.
  9. Miami: 237 yards and 15 1st-Downs at the half.
  10. Agree. Even his three picks last week weren't grossly inaccurate. They were simply all into tight double-coverage. The first, on 3rd-and-8, was no different than a punt had they failed on the conversion anyway. The middle one was the least accurate, but it wasn't like Wilson's throw directly to Milano.
  11. Anyone park on the far side of ECC? If so, how was it?
  12. Tough call. On one hand would love to see Belichick get as close to 0-17 as possible. On the other, NE isn't going anywhere, Miami may be, so a NE would be good for us.
  13. Giants are going to be lucky to post a winning record.
  14. @Beck Water ??
  15. Exactly. Last week was the toughest that we will probably face, largely because on top of them being good we haven't solved their D yet, and the Raiders are low end. Overreactions on both ends. D has played very well today however. Having said that, Allen (IMO) will be fine. Let me know if you know anyone in the US that gets it. I know nothing about DAZN. I did visit some forums and LOTS of people there saying that there are unexplained issues with it.
  16. How do you get All22? I signed up, but the DAZN said I was out of country (in the US) and couldn't use it, which is apparently required for A22. Thoughts?
  17. And yeah, my comments are not whatsover geared pro or con of her, I didn't even know who she was until camp this year. She could be the sweetest girl or the biggest B word in the world for all I know. LOL
  18. What's said and reality aren't always perfectly matching. Just sayin'. BTW, so far our illustrious defense isn't looking so good further validating the point.
  19. Apparently the masses had too much money in Vegas on the Bills. I'm joking, .... or am I. LOL
  20. I didn't say otherwise, I don't think. I was reacting to the notion that the D played well and all but perfectly when that's simply not true. But if the D doesn't allow Hall to go 83 on a "misalignment" (that clearly doesn't have anything to do with McD on a side note, ... sarcasm), then it's all a non-issue. The point of posting what I did was to show that holding the Jets to 16 in regulation is hardly some feat associated only with top defenses. To your point however, last season when we allowed them 12 points, we gifted them none. So there's that. As I said, five teams, most ranked nowhwere near our #2 ranking, held them to fewer than 12 points, three times also with no "gifted" turnovers, twice with 1 "gifted" turnover, both of those times in the 4th Qs well after those games were over. The Jets breached the 20 point mark in only 6 games last season. My point on Allen is that if he hits even one of those INT'd passes for a completion that results in a TD or long gain to set up a TD, then he's a hero that can "thread a needle like noone" and the conversation is completely different. Also, it's ironic to blame Allen when the only reason we've had winning records here, and four playoff wins, is entirely because of Allen. Anyone thinking that McD would have had this team making the playoffs regularly much less winning the division with the likes of the QBs w've had during the drought era has their reality clouded.
  21. Ahh, ... here?
  22. Yeah, or people that thrive on stirring up controversy and have Schadenfreude.
  23. Tough to disagree with. Coaching. It's also puzzling that every season we seem to deploy a new, at least to one or other extents, offenses. And of course Allen never has the receiving "tools" that he needs. Apparently he needs the modern equivalent of Rice, Moss, and Gonzalez for some to think he has what he needs to be successful.
