Echo Chamber on Liberal Campuses

I gotta agree with you on this one. In a class I'm taking now the professor ties everything he teaches with theories on Marxism, claiming that capitalism is the most evil econcomic system out there, but most of the students just roll their eyes... -

I'm with you. And WTF is Hurley doing just trashing all his hoarded food? Ummm...maybe some of the other crash survivors would have appreciated it (Hurley and Libby didn't know about the air-dropped food at the time)? I went from liking the guy to thinking he was a prick with that scene. Where the hell is Desmond? Why didn't Locke tell anyone about the Black Light map? Jack asks Ana Lucia to start up an army. Looks like they haven't done schit about it since then. The 3 chicks go and check out the medical research hatch and what, didn't tell anyone about it? To me the writers of the show have begun to think of themselves as too clever by half and keep adding more and more crap to the show when we had plenty of red meat to keep us busy to begin with. When the show first started it was rumored that it was only supposed to last 2-3 seasons, but at this rate it's going to take 10 seasons to tie it up. It's starting to get a little ridiculous. -

Man I feel for you because we just went through something similar. We drove down to Va Beach for St Pats and the trip down was the drive from hell (10 1/2 hrs give or take). We left around midnight so Chase (20 mos) would sleep through most of the trip which he has done before. About 2+ hrs into the trip Chase wakes up and starts babbling in his sing songy way. After about 20 minutes of this I hear him hiccup so I turn around to look at him and say something (my wife is driving) and he smiles at me this huge smile and then proceeds to puke all over himself. I'm not sure what exactly he ate but I know some of it was peas and it stunk to high heaven. We had to pull over and change him and put his puked-on jammies and blankets in the trunk and it still reeked pretty bad the whole way down. He probably would have cried the whole trip after that but I'm not ashamed to say that a portable DVD player and a Baby Einstein DVD were on hand and that got him calmed down straight away. He had diarrhea the next few days so the pediatrician said to just keep him pumped full of pedyalite if he seemed fine otherwise. He still ate pretty well, napped regularly, and never ran a fever so that's what we did. Kicked it by the 3rd day. -

Happy Birthday Johnny! I was going to get you Marx's Das Kapital or Mao's Little Red Book, but I figured you had them already. So I didn't. Happy Birthday anyway! -

For all the stats he compiled, Eric was usually found lacking in the clutch. That fuggin' fumble in the Miami playoff game still pisses me off. A Buffalo icon for his numbers and longevity, but will the Bills really miss him that much? I don't think so. Bye anyways Eric, and good luck. Except when you play the Bills. Then I hope you suck...

The only one that you could argue who has publicly lost faith in JP is Moulds and he will be gone soon. I'll wager that Evans has some faith in JP and I know of no reason why the front office shouldn't have some either. The only way the Bills could really want to trade Losman is if ole' Ralphie wants him gone because he reminds him too much of Mularkey and/or Donahoe...

Dems are the party of National Security?
Gavin in Va Beach replied to Ghost of BiB's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I can't bring myself to B word about Democrats anymore when the Republicans are selling out this country just as much if not more than when the Dems were in power. We're being taken for a ride and most seem to want to quibble about who gets to drive. Dems Bad! Reps Bad! Hey, look! I found lint in my bellybutton... -

Hippy Jesus: "If it feels good do it!" How does Jesus preaching love and forgiveness square with the idea that if you don't accept him as your lord and savior then you're going to hell? That doesn't sound very lovey or forgiving to me. And if you believe the Book of Revelations, Jesus has a hand in the smiting down of a very large number of sinners/those that accepted the false prophet. Why can't he turn his cheek and let bygones be bygones? -

I'm thinking the guy that plays Hurley is unable or unwilling to lose the weight in "real life", so he's forcing the writers to keep coming up with ways to get him food so he can stay plausibly fat on the show.
