Sullivan: really?
Gavin in Va Beach replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haters gonna hate. Preach on Jerry, preach on. -
I'm biased, but Chandler Jones no question. He had a bit of nastiness at SU and that is sorely lacking in Mario and in Buffalo.

Not to Add Fuel to the Fire This Week but.....

Intentional delay to see if Ralph kicks it in the next few months maybe? If you were the gub'mint, would you want to pour a lot of money into renovating the stadium only to see the team sold and moved months after Ralph moves into the owner's box in the sky? -

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Report: 7/31/2012

Thanks Mike. -
Dude that's peanuts. I've got like 5 different credits going, not to mention half-off of ST. Call back and on the voice prompt for the reason say 'cancel service'. Should automatically take you to customer retention. When you get a rep just go into a schpiel about how your wife wants to cancel, thinks it's too expensive, all your friends are telling you how DirecTv is giving them better deals, etc. Never actually cancel your service, but if that particular rep doesn't budge then say you need to think it over and hang up. When you call back the next rep will likely help you out. Guarantee they will give you more credits.

You just have to factor in a couple of bonehead Scoop plays a game and plan to overcome them. Scoop also made some clutch baskets/plays that you could argue helped us win the game too. As many times as he makes me shake my head and curse his name I'm certainly going to miss him when he's gone. Kid has tons of heart. Crazy game last night. After Wisco's 5th three in a row I was about to turn the tv off and go to bed, certain that fate was against us. Never ceases to amaze me how many teams hit their threes against us.

It has been said that Boeheim uses a hands-off management style. He doesn't get into the details of the kids lives, expects them to act like men, etc. It's becoming apparent that this style hasn't been working to make the team the best it can be. He's an awesome coach and gets a lot out of his players, but he's ignoring that these guys are kids as much as they are men and that sometimes they need that father-figure to give them the occasional kick in the ass to keep them on the straight and narrow. We've seen other talented players for SU implode over personal stuff again and again and it's possible that if JB were more hands-on some of that could have been prevented. Still, he put Syracuse on the map and unless he's been criminally negligent on this or some other issue I'll continue to support him going out on his terms.

Right now, UNC-Asheville is practicing nothing but 3-pointers.

MASN carried it. God what an awful game for the first 15 mins or so. I nearly turned it off. Orangemen just seemed out of it, lazy, and sloppy. CJ Fair woke up first and started making some plays to bring us back in it and then credit to Scoop to get the fire lit under the team. He still makes a couple of knucklehead plays a game but when he's on the whole team starts to follow his lead.

Good post. I liked comics in jr high/high school but got out of it when I went to college and hadn't picked one up in years. The local library carries comics, err, I mean graphic novels and when The Watchmen movie was made I had heard the comic was great so I checked it out. Thought it was awesome and it led me to checking out other titles. Became a fan of The Walking Dead and Y: The Last Man. Constantine. Stephen King's 'The Stand' just finished its comic run and was very well done. With the job, wife, and 2.5 kids it's hard to make time to read (though I try) so a comic is nice in that I can get an interesting story read in about 15 mins give or take. Maybe you should start a comics thread if you have some tips on other titles. I'll have to check out the Sandman.

Should have won that game by 10 at least. The old Scoop showed up too many times last night. CJ was awful and Dion looked pretty mediocre. Kris Joseph stepped up and that was the difference. Props to Melo for his play as well. Boeheim wasn't happy about last nights game nor should he be. What happened to Trish? Did Christmas even play? Southerland and Keita were non-factors as well. While the Orange showed some toughness in beating a Hoya team that clearly wanted it more and came to play, they also showed that there's still a lot of work to be done.

Not to mention Old Dominion.

SU - Bernie Fine investigation

Has to be the walk-ons. The scholarship players can pull much better tail than that, unless they have an old and ugly jewish lady fetish going on... -
Bodacious taa taas are never off topic. Da 'Cuse took a few punches in the face to begin the game, with Cinci pulling threes out of their ass, but just when all was looking grim they found their mojo and pulled it out. And they did it with Waiters having no touch and riding the pine for the most part. Christmas got some game working and our big three: Joseph, Scoop, and Trish got it going when we most needed it. The Bearcats are no slouch. Good win.

Anyone else come close to crying when Waiters went down? Yeah he comes off the bench, but he's the best player on the team. We might be deep, but if we lost him Final Four dreams go out the window. So glad to see him come back in. Good game for the Orangemen, even with their usual ten minutes of mediocre play that lets the other team get back in it. If they ever played a full game all out they would be unstoppable and win by 50.

Stephen King's Latest - "11/22/63"
Gavin in Va Beach replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just finished this book and found it to be excellent. I lost a lot of sleep telling myself 'just one more chapter'. Personally I've been thinking King had lost his mojo, 'Under the Dome' could have been so much better and instead it was tedious reading by the end, but with 11/22/63 he's back on his game. As a married guy with kids- I can't go back. Can't risk affecting anything that might stop them from happening. Were I a single guy with a 'butterfly effect be damned' attitude, then I'd probably be greedy and go back to bet some games and buy some stock, and would be tempted to pick the 'free love' era to do it. A rich hippy probably scored a lot of tail back then. -
Absolutely

This should have been the 2nd or 3rd show. I don't care about daily hijinks, I want to know about the son off living by himself and what he knows. I want to know more about the 6ers. Are they really in the past or an alternate universe? Stay in this vein and we're good. Go back to the 'Dino CSI' crap and I'll probably take it off the DVR, as I was about to until this past show.
