Trump Alone at the Top
Gavin in Va Beach replied to Gene Frenkle's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'd point out almost all these donors are deeply embedded in the "the establishment", investors who primarily advocate open borders and free markets, the very things Trump is campaigning against. They likely never wanted him from the beginning, and are now jumping on the bandwagon to undercut him in the hopes things can return to "normal" when Hilary is president. I think the GOP would be making a grave error in thinking things could ever go back to "normal". -

Hillary's Campaign Kickoff

You make valid points, but I disagree with the direction of your conclusions. Also this "proto-fascist Nativist nationalism" comes across as a lefty tactic of intimidation which is supposed to give us the bad 'feels' and make us ashamed. Sorry but it doesn't work like that much anymore, People are fed up. It's really just a cop out against being pinned down on specifics in what you are trying to say anyway. How's about you unpack that and tell us what you mean by it? If you elect, or facilitate the election of Hilary, she will do everything in her power to make sure she has the easiest chance at re-election, and the media will work with her to downplay any major scandal she has as demonstrated with what's going on right now. The country may be unrecognizable at the end of her first term as it is, so your point about that with Trump holds no water with me. Republicans learning from the Trump ascension? How? They will be returning to the pipeline of candidates that come up through the ranks (Rep, Sen, Gov) that whore themselves for special interest money. You want to pin your hope on the fact that they might change, when I see change right now. Good job though, gambling that a Hilary election won't risking flushing the whole country down the toilet on your hopes that things might change in the future. The backbone of the country is trying to make change happen right now. /golfclap -
Hillary's Campaign Kickoff

If that's true, then maybe it needs to be destroyed so it can begin anew. And seriously, doesn't conservatism mean you should actually "conserve" something? Conservatives never conserve dick. The Libs want to go 10 feet and the conservatives hold them to only going 5 feet, then pat themselves on the back at how good a job they did holding them to 5 feet, when all parties involved know that at the next go around the Libs will again ask for 10 feet, the conservatives will hold them to 5 feet (thereby giving them the full 10 feet they wanted previously) and the cycle goes on and on. Rinse repeat. Have fun with that, "conservative". -
Hillary's Campaign Kickoff

The major party path in this election is the Democrat path. There are leaked emails showing how Dem party leadership worked together with the Hilary campaign to torpedo Sanders chances at getting the nomination. Sanders represented a healthy Democratic party debating ideas and they did everything they could to smother him in his crib. The major media barely mentioned it and nothing has changed at any level within the Democratic party. In fact, Bernie has since been coerced to get in line. The Republican party path is nearly non-existent; hard to call it a major party path at the moment. Right now it's the Trump path. The major media gleefully report, right now, how Trump is 'going to war with the GOP'. The establishment Republicans, also viewed by many as RINOs or Democrat-Lite, are schitting themselves that the country club party good times they've carved out for themselves in Congress are in danger of falling apart. They haven't been a true opposition party in years. Trump is a blowhard buffoon. Everyone has known this since the 80s/90s when he started appearing in newspapers. It doesn't mean necessarily that he's stupid and I think people underestimate his intelligence, but he definitely comes across as an uncouth jackass.I do not care. Right now he represents the only real threat the establishment has had since Perot, who also had a real chance to win before he went stupid and dropped out due to 'Republican conspiracy'. He got back in but he had destroyed his image of knowing how to fix things and replaced it with an image of a loon. Trump doesn't really have to worry about that, we know he is a loon, but he is a loon with a plan and if he keeps hammering that plan then he has a good chance. Tomorrow they could publish a picture of him in a tutu blowing a donkey and I would not be surprised, and it would not change my vote. IMO, the status quo is slowly killing this country and Hilary is the personification of the status quo. I don't know how much longer this country can survive the corporate aristocracy looting this nation in the name of globalism, but I believe my children's generation will start to feel it's consequences. Hilary is a looter and will continue to enable the looting, if not make it even easier. And if you put a gun to my head, I will admit that I think deep down she is a truly evil B word. Vote for the moron team of Johnson and Weld, or Jill what's her name, as a protest vote against the major parties? Please. Trump IS the true protest vote. -

I can't disagree with any of that, especially if the report of Ryan being pressured is true.

If I'm Terry Pegula, I ask Bill Cowher for a meeting and when I sit down I pass him a blank check and tell him he can name the GM he wants.

Watkins Injury Update - post em here
Gavin in Va Beach replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He does seem brittle. Whenever you see him in workout clothes he looks very ripped. He might be a case of one who works out too hard, becoming more susceptible to injury. -
Is everyone happy Brady got to play us?
Gavin in Va Beach replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm happy it was Brady. Sure I wish we won, but the Bills are still figuring things out and losing to Brady teaches them more than beating Garaopolloalamala. To quote Fight Club: "A guy who came to Fight Club for the first time, his ass was a wad of cookie dough. After a few weeks, he was carved out of wood." We're shedding the cookie dough phase, soon we will be carved out of wood. -
Sorry if this is a repost, I looked and didn't find any threads with this article from Stephen White at sbnation.com. "Rex Ryan's defensive game plan last Sunday against the New England Patriots was as soft as puppy ****. That's my big takeaway after watching the film. I couldn't understand how the Bills could go from absolutely annihilating the Colts and Andrew Luck just a week ago, to turning around and giving up damn near 500 yards passing and 40 points in a loss to the Patriots. So I turned on the coaches tape to try to get to the bottom of how Tom Brady torched the Bills defense so effectively this weekend. The film tells me at least part of the reason for the Bills' disparate performances in their last two games was much less aggressive play calling from Ryan against New England. The eye in the sky don't lie. And that friggin' sucks." http://www.sbnation.com/2015/9/23/9375125/bills-patriots-tom-brady-rex-ryan-defense-breakdown
