Ragland traded to KC for 4th round 2019 pick
Gavin in Va Beach replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you're saying there's a chance... -
Did the annual dance this year. Canceled the service then called the winback number. Knocked off $45 a month from bill for 12 months. Free Sunday ticket Max. All movie channels free for 3 months. $200 gift card. Can't remember the last time we paid for Sunday Ticket. Gotta be going on Year 7 or 8.

ESPN host Ryen Russillo naked and drunk

Complete the tank, McBean. Do it.

"That's only 2 games. There are 14 more." It's not just 2 losses, it's the fact that they win the division, so now you're competing for a wild card where a host of other tie-breaking scenarios can come into play. I'm not arguing the Bills haven't been inept for a long time, been run by/coached by fools, and caught some seriously bad luck here and there. But to think that by tanking the season everything will get fixed is silly. -

Ha! Ok, so, let's concede 2 games to the Paytoilets. That means you have to go 10-4 in the other 14. Is it happening this year? +++++ I concede nothing! Father Time will catch that bastard eventually. I'm hopeful it starts this season. Honestly, the AFC is starting to look weird to me this year. 9-7 or even 8-8 could make the playoffs. -

Wish I had that outlook. But fighting for .500 is THE reason we've been out of playoff contention for 17 years. _____________________________________________ Man that's bull ****. We never fight for .500, we fight to win every game. And don't forget, as much as it pains me to say, a big reason we have been out of playoff contention for 17 years is because we play in the same division as Tom Brady and the Patriots. Thanks for making me puke in my mouth. -

Perhaps, but my worst case scenario is a 6 win season. Fighting for anything other than 2 wins or 10 wins is failure. Honest opinion: do you see this roster winning 10 games and making the playoffs? __________________________ Is it improbable? Yes. Is it impossible? No. We won't know the full possibility of this team until around Week 4. We should start 1-0 against the Jets, then Carolina, Denver, and Atlanta are next. Finish that run 2-2 or better and we have a shot. I will say, lose to the Jets in Week 1? Fire frickin' everybody and tank baby tank! -

"I know where you're coming from but here's the problem: 1) Jets 2) San Francisco 3) Cleveland 4) Jacksonville You have to be ahead of at least two of those teams in the draft order in order to ensure securing a franchise QB prospect. If you wait until mid-season it's already too late, and all the draft capital would need to be spent, if they're willing to accept the trade of picks at all. Tank." __________________________________ Of those teams only the Jets are likely a guaranteed dumpster fire. The others could be decent if things break a certain way. Every season there are teams that are going to suck who turn out good and teams that should be good that turn out to suck. Nothing is certain. Then, factor in the a top drafted QB is still no lock to succeed. For every first round QB to do well, 5 have crashed and burned. Tanking before the season even starts is foolishness. -

Too early to call for a tank. To quote the great Herm Edwards "You play...to win...the game!" We have a defense and running game that should keep us competitive in nearly every game. We get some breaks and the playoffs are not just a pipe dream. That said, we hit the mid-season mark/trade deadline under .500 with some injuries that will be difficult to overcome, then tank the $!*# out of the rest of the season. -
Streater Updates?
Gavin in Va Beach replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He'll be fine. McDermott is pulling a Belichick by hinting that Streater is in a medically induced coma at death's door, only to have him play in game 1 and go 9 catches for 125 yds and a TD. -
Greatest WR you've seen in your lifetime
Gavin in Va Beach replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Moss should be the answer. He was an absolute freak of nature...almost the perfect receiver. Sadly he could be childish and he let his ego get in the way far too often to be considered the best. So it's between Jerry Rice and Calvin Johnson. Would Rice have had the same success as Megatron with Stafford and associated journeymen throwing to him? I don't think so. Would Megatron have had the same success with Montana and Young throwing to him? Oh hell yes. His numbers would have been astronomical. Answer: Calvin Johnson -
Nice analysis. I also don't put much stock in 'they want their own guys'. These are professionals who immediately started watching tape and taking into account what they've seen and heard in practices/private workouts, etc. I'm sure they also keep an eye on how they see the team as a whole and whether it has good chemistry. To think they would just trade/cut/release players simply because they want to bring in their own guys is silly. As everyone knows, don't win and the NFL becomes 'Not For Long'. They aren't going to jettison good players they think will help them win. What is happening here is they are willing to make some short term sacrifices for the hope of a long term payout.

Go on record regarding the trades
Gavin in Va Beach replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everything you say is true if we are talking about a relatively healthy Sammy Watkins. I suspect a lot of research was done on athletes who have had his injuries and surgeries and they determined the risk as too great to pick up the option. -

Gavin in Va Beach replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. Problem is the full benefits of this deal likely won't be felt until the 2019 season, and I hate waiting. But I don't believe our chances to win this year have been seriously downgraded. This season's success will depend on the running game and the defense, same as it ever was. If we can tweak the passing game into some sort of quasi west coast offense we should be fine. -

RODAK: Watkins Trade Sets Up TT To Fail
Gavin in Va Beach replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With Tyrod we weren't going to be a primary "pass" team anyway. We all hope and pray that the light will go on for Tyrod and he'll stand tall and sling the ball around, but that likely ain't ever going to happen. The Bills are still setup to be a running team. Nothing has changed there. When we do have to pass, it's not like we don't have any talent, and Boldin is perfect for Tyrod. Tough and still able to get separation in the short passing game with hands of stickum. We'll be fine. Rodak has always been an alias for Jerry Sullivan. The Bills could donate money to cancer research and he'd find fault with it. He's a hack. -

I agree. I like Sammy but he's the Rob Johnson of receivers. The next time he plays for more than 2 games fully healthy will be the first time. And Darby is a coin flip to whether is plays great or gets burned, like most CBs. -

I'm thinking they were likely hired at the same time, just took awhile to make it "official". -
