  2. Don't know why anyone expects much from a coach/general manager press conference. Their job is to play cards close to the vest and withhold information. It's like everyone expects a Mora "Playoffs....you want me to talk about playoffs? Playoffs?" or a Herm Edwards "You play. To win. The game." press conference. Nah, those come from exasperated coaches under pressure. Keep talking in boring cliches McDermott. I'm good ?
  3. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Most likely he had a verbal deal with us or someone and it was pulled when Cleveland drafted Mayfield.
  4. Not a fan, but he has earned the right and respect to go out on his terms. That said, I hope the Bills sack him into early retirement in week 8.
  5. What an old bastich! HFBD Joe!
  6. Shouldn't that say, "Strong the confusion is, in this one"
  7. Going off of this site, the Bills will go from $18+ mil of cap space to $78+ mil of cap space next season. Granted that number will fluctuate will new signings and other releases, etc. but the bottom line is next year we should have the cash to be serious players in free agency. No excuses not to be competitive in 2019. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/buffalo-bills/
  8. Thank God for small favors.
  9. And Brady sucks, take a flyer on him in the 6th round. And Warner sucks, don't even add him as an undrafted FA, let him play arena ball and bag groceries. And so on. How many predicted all-pros flamed out after being given chance after chance? How many potential all-pros washed out of football because they never got a chance? More than a few I would imagine. Analyze all you want. Then throw it out the window because who really knows? Allen may suck. He may be great. He's a Bill now, so I know what I'm rooting for. If he doesn't pan out, we try again. Sun still comes up tomorrow.
  10. I do hope you're right. And you never know, maybe this is the year the Patriots and/or the Steelers come crashing down, making it more of a scramble.
  11. And it was true last year. We caught some breaks and snuck into the playoffs. It appears though that many of us (I include myself) were thinking that if we drafted Rosen then we'd be ready to compete and win right away, but now it's rather apparent that Beane is still planning long term.
  12. I think the Josh Allen pick, and the trading up for Edmunds, shows that Beane is not really worried about this season and is taking the long view. We all are talking about how many need areas the Bills still have and are lamenting the fact that we don't have the 2nd and 3rd round picks to plug those holes but we may need to come to terms with the fact that Beane and McDermott are ok with some holes going into this season. If they were planning to be competitive in 2018, and were still planning on drafting Allen who is undoubtedly a year or two away from starting, then they likely would have kept Tyrod another season or brought in a vet free agent QB (who knows, they may still). But with no proven QB on the roster we are likely facing another "look out below" season. Now this is the NFL, and some younger players can surprise and teams can get hot, so you can't totally write off the season, but I would be prepared for some growing pains. The good news is we'll lose a ton of dead salary cap money after this season, something like $25 mil or so I believe, so look for Beane to be very aggressive in free agency next year.
  13. "Cautiously optimistic"... ....and trusting the process
  14. Damn, Beane gets $%!^ done.
  15. How about Romper Room? And when teams make a pick they can say "Romper bomper stomper du, the Bills select Hal Jalikakik from Whatsamatta U"
  16. To be fair though, that article made all the owners seem like dipshits. And nowhere was the primary issue addressed by anyone, that people hold the singing of the national anthem as a sacred occasion and if the players have a right to kneel then fans have a right to get pissed about it.
  17. I will trust the process..... ...and drink heavily
  18. Create so much confusion a desperate teams says "screw it" and way overpays for your #1 so they are guaranteed to get the guy they want.
  19. I like turtles
  20. My guess is Denver. They don't seem to want the stress of drafting a QB high right now, with their recent troubles, and would be happy to stockpile picks and take a QB later. That's why King has been hyping us trading with them and giving them more lower round picks than just a couple of high rounders.
  21. Know that scene near the end of the first Kingsmen movie, where Merlin makes the heads explode of all the people that have that implant? That would be Bills fans.
