You underestimate the positive impact it is just to get to practice interviewing. It can be very helpful especially for say a young QB coach. Plus how do we know Brady doesn't bolt for a HC job in college.

It never hurts to get a chance to present yourself. Plus these GMs all know each other. If a guy interviews really well they might let their colleagues know. Also what if someone under Beane or McDermott gets a GM or HC job somewhere else they may remember a guy that interviewed well.

You may think it is a sham but it's any opportunity to impress someone.

^^^this is all that needs to be said on the matter. It's a very good protocol even in a scenario like this

Anyone know the furthest down the list this has ever gotten?

Still whatever it takes for MHJ team. The guy would be a top 30 WR in the league tomorrow. Maybe higher.

It would take way too much to get him unfortunately. Like basically what the Panthers gave up for #1 last year and we don't have it. It would take less to get Nabers and he's the clear #2 to me. Like a better Jordan Addison. Odunze looks like a saucier Gabe with better hands, Coleman looks like a Demaryius Thomas type, and Legette doing absolutely nothing until he was a super senior is a major red flag to me. Egbuka seems like a technician but less of a field stretcher.

If we trade up I hope it's Nabers, if we stand pat I hope it's Odunze or Coleman, if we trade back I hope it's Egbuka, and Legette is a stay away for me unless back of R2 or later.

Cook running out of bounds instead of going for the 1st down made me just as upset as him dropping the TD.

I was thinking about this, and my take is he's in his head about avoiding a fumble. McD's benchings have created a mistake-avoidance mindset with him rather than playing with a loose mindset feeling the game in the moment.

A college hoops coach I love was caught mic'd up in the huddle last week saying something along the lines of "we want to be making aggressive mistakes, not mistakes of avoidance." I thought that was awesome when I heard it. As a coach you want your guys in attack mode and living with TOs that result from it. Otherwise  they're making mistakes because they're in their own heads, hesitating in split second high pressure opportunities second guessing themselves, and they're making mistakes anyway as a result but you don't get the upside to go along with it. I think Cook has fallen victim to that with the way McD has treated him with respect to mistakes from his literal very first NFL carry.

Might have something to do with the miscommunications we've seen with Josh/Davis and others this year too. Guys not feeling out the option routes but thinking too much about what will happen to them if they make a mistake, then a mistake happens in the split second decision as a result. If so, that's just bad coaching and not the mindset I want pervading the franchise.

We may need to draft wrs in back to back years... early picks.  Gabe's gone for sure and Stef's clock is ticking.  Love to get Odunze but if we win 10, we're probably too far away.

Trade up! We'll have 10 picks and like last year not many day 3 guys will likely be making the roster and they'll just get picked off onto other active rosters so what's the point. You know Brandon loves using his 4th rounders to trade up... if a guy that can be elite on a controlled contract for 5 years is sitting there, I would think Beane pulls the trigger. Doesn't have to be Odunze necessarily, there are a bunch of high quality boundary options this year. But agreed he'd be a great fit

  6. For what it's worth I have a lot of Packer fan friends and when the trade happened they all said he's not a good slot corner but is very good on the outside. So hopefully we can keep him where he's strongest because he's looked very good on the outside for us so far as advertised

Damn shame it’s not Rousseau. What’s wrong with this guy? Did he have a couple spark plug wires fall off or what?

Thought I heard he has a broken bone in his foot that he can either play through the pain or have season ending surgery. He's definitely not what he was at the start of the season when he, DaQuan, Ed, and Floyd were wreaking havoc as a healthy unit

Bills go 5-2 down the stretch. Mark this post! 🤙🏼

    Go Bills!!

And unfortunately unless those two losses are against Philly & Dallas, we probably still lose out on conference tie breaker sitting at 2-5 currently. Letting Mack Jones, Russel Wilson, and Zack Wilson come back to win will haunt. Would have been way better to have lost to TB, NYG, and WAS than those AFC scrubs. I'm only confident on making it with a 6-1 finish

Kincaid is a very strong addition to the offense.  Hopefully Beane will a draft a WR early this upcoming draft.

It's a pretty stacked WR class at the top, lots of guys in the 6'2"-6'4" 200-220 lb range with long speed, burst, change of direction ability, and hands. Reminds me of the 2014 draft a bit. Gotta grab one! Boom easy Gabe upgrade. Then go RT next and draft another receiver later as Shakir insurance & a Harty/Sherfield uprade. It's so easy a baby could do it!

But let's not downplay the 3rd round pick.

In my view, 3rd and 4th rounders are hugely important, moreso for Cap control than added value onto the field. The Bills have at least 2 starters from the 3rd round this year. Bernard and Spencer Brown. Bernard has been well above expected, but just pretend he was a replacement level player for his position just as Spencer Brown is. Meaning straight average. Good enough to start.  Their REAL value is that those two dides have a combine 2M in cap hit, and the Bills don't have to spend 15M in veteran money for those two spots.

So if the Bills got another replacement level start from a 3rd round pick in 24, that's a 6M cap hit the Bills are eating for Douglas. So that's the value trade Beane had to make.

Not easy, but hopefully worth it.

Got a 5th rounder back. So a late 3rd rounder for a higher 5th rounder. Moving back 1.5 rounds rather than giving up a 3rd. Plus we have the Tremaine comp pick 3rd rounder. Seems extremely cheap, no-brainer to me

  11. He's not on the list (and not the best) but in the spirit of Remembering Some Guys, I always like Thomas Smith. I was young but I remember him as a CB that couldn't catch but always seemed sticky on his man and a PBU machine. Middle school me could be totally off on him though haha

Should we call it the A-Gun?

Or, I guess since it was named after Keith McKellar, our TE at the time, we should call it the D-Gun after Dawson/Dalton.

In all seriousness, the Bills offense has looked a lot better in the 2nd half the last few games with an uptempo approach. Maybe this’ll give them the spark they need.

This would also help JA read coverages better. Diggs mentioned the need for JA to have more time to assess the defense by already being lined up in his presser.

    The D-K Gun

  13. With the fully healthy defense wreaking havoc getting other teams off the field early & often giving the offense short fields and leads to build on you could make the argument we didn't need more explosiveness surrounding Allen. But the D is so weak and able to be exposed now, need to strike fear in the opposition and have the ability to put up 30+ on the regular or we'll miss the playoffs completely.

With that said, if a guy like Terry McLaurin is even a remote possibility I hope we pursue it. I'd give up close to what we sent out for Diggs, given his age and reasonable contract going forward. We have the extra 3rd & 6th this year and I want a stud WR in R1 anyway, McLaurin could be it instead. Need that speed and top tier receiving ability ASAP

Ridiculousness of signing Cole Beasley aside, if someone were to be cut on this roster, Poona Ford would not be a shockingly laughable cut.

He spent most of the season as a healthy scratch. Has ridiculously underperformed expectations. When activated, he played terribly. Kendall Vickers has been activated off the Practice Squad and played instead of him.

He hasn't been remotely close to the guy we thought we were getting when we signed him.

Yeah I hope Poona can at minimum make himself a space eating 1T because we need it desperately. Been disappointed as well, thought he was a great depth signing. Terrible timing on Ankou getting poached from the PS. Really hope Daquan can make it back near peak form for the playoffs! He was a huge missing piece in the Bengals loss
