  1. Oh yeah I was referring to the supposed Herbert to MN rumor
  2. Sorry I was joking there's no way Gabe should stop them from drafting a guy like BTJ
  3. Figured! Wondering how that trade could work in practice then. Seems like it just couldn't?
  4. I'm no cap expert but looks like a trade hits the Chargers with $63mil dead cap for this year? But a post June 1 trade is only $13mil? Can picks exchange hands on Thursday with a player being designated a post June 1 officially?
  5. But they just signed Gabe Davis 🤣
  6. Shakir is a speed slot, Samuel is not a pure outside WR, we don't have a bona fide X or Z. One pick X, one pick Z. Pretty simple. Rookie 1 starts at X over Hollins & Shorter, Rookie 2 shares snaps at Z with Samuel and some Shakir. Unless they think they can get a cheap-ish vet plug in at either X or Z post June 1 🤷‍♂️ Shorter should have been a priority FA last year not a 5th round pick. He's eminently replaceable, good practice squad option. Hollins is here for special teams unless Shorter beats him out
  7. For sure. But you can learn from history. It doesn't typically repeat itself, but it often rhymes
  8. 2022 draft the move definitely would have been to trade back and take two day 2 swings at CB rather than trade up and force it for Elam (and still take Benford in 6th!) Could have gone Cam Taylor Britt with the trade back 2nd rounder, kept the 4th and taken Tariq Woolen, and taken Benford as a CB with potential to move over to safety. We'd be rich in CB's right now... This is about as loaded of a WR draft as that draft was at CB, wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to trade back a little and take two on day 2 and another sleeper value on day 3 (Jalen Coker type)
  9. Until we draft Legette & Polk at 33 & 39 LFGGGGGGGGGG
  10. This certainly qualifies as master strategy! Or if CAR wants to get back into the first round, could go #28, MN 2025 2nd, #60, and #144 for #33, #39, and #101. That's almost exactly even on the Rich Hill chart if you consider MN 2025 2nd is worth a mid-third this year. Basically just turns Diggs & Bates into a total of 62 draft slots in exchange for moving 5 slots down for your first pick. Giving KC and Baltimore first crack at receivers we might want makes me a bit queasy though even if I might like that trade in a vacuum Let's get two!
  11. I wouldn't haaaaate it because I think there's a lot of untapped upside potential and I want a big bodied physical receiver with great hands for January home games. But I would also want to see them add a speed element early as well then. And people in the know seem to think he's best used as a big slot, and we took a big slot last year in Kincaid so... If he can play X better than Gabe and we use added capital to trade back up in R2 for a speedier Z with route running chops I'm good with it
  12. I thought I saw him run some routes at the senior bowl that suggested he could be a quality outside downfield receiver, maybe his college coordinator didn't put him in a position to do so?
  13. FML Are you sure that wasn't about Burton? Not saying you're wrong just saying can't remember hearing anything like that about McMillan
  14. Legette R1 + Polk R2 LFG
  15. Draft Legette at 28 and you have your height/weight/speed guy for the next five years, then use MN 2nd rounder to move up from 60 for Polk and you have a jack of all trades guy with a high floor. Both have great hands, both have dawg mentalities, both give you something you're missing. Set at WR for two years, go on a spending spree next year for high impact guys at other premium positions (like DE), then round out the rest of the roster with solid day 3 guys at S, RB, LB, IOL depth, etc.
  16. I agree, that is a pretty funny superstition
  17. seems like overkill but YOLO!
  18. Can I interest them in Minnesota's 2nd rounder next year?
  19. I'd do DK for a second rounder in a heartbeat but why would Seattle take a $36mil dead cap hit this year for a 2nd rounder? Are they looking to offload him?
  20. No wonder Beane was so annoyed we didn't get that 3rd round comp pick
  21. This is a good point. How did he look next to Jayden Reed when they shared the field in the same system? I liked Reed a lot coming out last year and he has had a nice early return
  22. You listed a lot of elite TEs for those other teams (fairly I might add) but people often overlook Gronk as a weapon for NE, a probable first ballot HOF game changing weapon in his own right!
  23. IMO needs to be QB, pass rusher, pass catcher. Mahomes/Chris Jones/Kelce (plus Hill for one SB) Stafford/Donald/Von/Kupp (and OBJ played like one for half the super bowl) Guys that warp the field and command attention. Do things that are unstoppable. Had Josh/Von/Diggs until Von went down in '22. Kincaid doesn't strike fear into the defense (yet, and may never be), Oliver gets erased in the playoffs, Milano is nice but not a guy you game plan around, Samuel & Shakir are nice complementary players. Now it's just Josh. Trade way up for Nabers or Odunze and that gets you to two, then with all the cap space next year get a complete game wrecker pass rusher in his prime. Fill out the rest of the roster with rookie contracts and solid vets. Hope the big 3 are healthy in the playoffs and a couple other guys like Kincaid develop into very good/great players that can exploit the attention the big 3 garner. That's the formula.
