  1. Okay I get that he's past his prime obviously but 105 career sacks, 3 time first team all-pro, 1 DPOY, another 2nd in DPOY voting behind only Aaron Donald in 2018, and finishing top 10 in DPOY voting just last year isn't much of an impact?
  2. I appreciate all the responses and laughed at many of them, my question was "what would it take?" not "I would personally do this, is it dumb or not?" Definitely led with an extreme, so I can see how people reacted so negatively. LOLLL Trying to figure out what a clearing level would be that both sides would be amenable to, if at all. My point was I think we'd have to overpay because the Chargers are still in it, but how much of an overpay, and what compensation would be worth it to get a potential game wrecking edge that would also get the Chargers to bite. Some think Mack isn't that anymore (or never was), and I appreciate that view and if that's the case I wouldn't do it for any price. Others see 17 sacks last season (admittedly me) and say damn we could use that to get past KC. If Von can get back to being that type of player for us then great, that's what he's here for. I hope that's how it plays out! But I wouldn't necessarily bet on it. I think a game wrecking DLineman is the last piece to get this roster over the hump and I hope Beane can make a move for someone somehow at a fair price or even a slight overpay before the deadline. I say overpay in a vacuum, but some things are worth more to one side because they're closer to a goal, hence the question "what would it take?" One poster likened Mack at this point to the early season version of Leonard Floyd before he fell off a cliff, which I liked. Maybe the better question would be what's the max you would pay to add that type of skill set/production for the stretch run this season, and would that be enough to get a (hopefully) 4-4 team with a new regime perhaps thinking more long term to bite?
  3. Yeah this is where I'm at, plus I'd like to absolutely bury the division with a Jets loss combined with us beating the Dolphins on Sunday. It leaves wiggle room to get into the playoffs if some short term disastrous shorter term injuries lead to a slide.
  4. Fortunately for them it doesn't hurt nearly as much when you have your QB on a rookie deal!
  5. Would you say he's better or worse than Jerry Hughes during our playoff runs? I don't watch the Chargers very often, how did he get 17 sacks last year? Genuine question. That's more than anyone we've had in a long time
  6. Agreed! My thought was no one is collapsing their interior, at least not someone we could add, might as well try to take advantage of the relatively weaker edge
  7. Ha yeah the fact that they'd be 4-4 is why I think it would take more than what might be worth in a plain vanilla scenario but could be worth it for us to take us over the top. What you you give?
  8. Man had 17 sacks last year!
  9. what do you think it would take?
  10. He's 33 years old on an expiring contract, with a cap hit in the range of Cooper. If they lose on Sunday @Cleveland, might the new regime be open to make a deal for the future? AJ Epenesa, Javon Solomon, 2025 Diggs Pick (~#60), and a 2026 1st round for 2nd round pick swap? Is that way too much? Way too little? Not even in the zip code of acceptable for either side? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/14414/khalil-mack
  11. who's also become a YAC beast, so basically a much better extended run game
  12. Kevin? way past his prime, and center of gravity too high among other issues
  13. the Miracle at Rich was blacked out locally! After halftime we all went outside to play football in the street with my dad listening to it on a portable Walkman playing all-time QB and we re-enacted the comeback plays in real time. Seared into my brain more than the actual game probably would have been haha (clearly)
  14. Patrick Mahomes: Myth or Andy Reid?
  15. Yes agreed we have a lot of good but not great D linemen. Oliver & Rousseau can flash & pop at times when they have a favorable matchup but they disappear in the big time far too often. I love DaQuan Jones but he's been injured the last two years in the playoffs and is getting up there in age. He's not a consistent game wrecker but a very nice piece at 1T. At this point the hope is Von comes back with even fresher legs for the home stretch and commands some attention like he did in '22 so the other guys can get favorable matchups. And of course, all have to be healthy for the playoffs or it falls apart like a house of cards. It could definitely play out that way, but I like selling a small piece of the farm for an absolute stud like Garrett better than the hope.
  16. I see 2025 1st & third plus 2026 first & third thrown around all the time on speculation. I feel like three players on low contracts plus a first and two seconds beats that 🤷‍♂️
  17. Chris Jones & Aaron Donald have been just as much or more of the reason their teams have won the last 4 super Bowls as their blue chip QBs. Don't make Josh wait until he's Stafford's age on a new team to give him one of those game wrecking monsters on the DLine. If it's there, you go and get it by almost any means necessary.
  18. Assuming he's healthy, I'd offer them Epenesa, Elam, Solomon, 2025 1st, 2025 2nd (Diggs pick), and a 2026 2nd. Super Bowl.
  19. Bears' new GM Poles is actually highly competent. He's been drafting well, ripped off Carolina something fierce, finds solid free agents, hasn't maxed out the cap, put his #1 overall rookie in a prime position to succeed. Pretty much nailing a rebuild.
  20. Until Von comes back and we trade for Myles Garrett LFGGGGGGGGG
  21. They've had insanely good injury luck the past few years down the stretch, bound to rear its head at some point right??
  22. Malik Nabers??? He double dipped at CB & LB in 2023 with much success
  23. Does an acquiring team assume the void years as well? Or do those accelerate to the dead cap hit of the original team?
