Yeah. I read your post. You talked about vaulting into the 10… hence why I asked for the 15 range. 🤔

Sorry I misunderstood! I'd do #28, 2024 3rd & 5th, and our 2025 2nd if the right guy was there. Or... if a team like the Seahawks or Saints want a man corner with some experience and upside, Elam instead of the '24 3rd

KC could spend a future pick to move up. They just won with Rashee Rice and a bunch of JAGS at WR and know full well they could possibly run it back with the addition of an elite/high level WR coming in. I don’t think they are plotting how to beat the Bills necessarily but they know we want a WR so we are the one they need to jump.

A 1st and 3rd can get them from 32 up to possibly 25, with 3 NFC teams in front of us that’s more doable than within conference. If they see their future WR1 in this draft they will move to get him.

Totally agree. Plus they have Sneed on the trade block for a first. They could vault into the top 10 easily or get 2 quality WRs in the next tier. I really think we need to get one of the top 3 wideouts just to stay even with them. I'm fine giving up #28, next year's first, next year's third with an assumed comp pick coming back like this year, our combined three extra 5ths & 6ths this year, plus a player. Then draft another WR in second or third round who would be ready to blossom as a #2 to Nabers' #1 as Diggs transitions to a lesser role or retires. Every other need can be addressed with bargain FAs, day 3 picks, and UDFAs. A guy like Nabers would be a difference-making stud for a decade+

Early results: Fiske is a freak. Currently leads for vertical jump, broad jump, and ran 4.78 40-yard time

Maason smith came in a touch over 5s, looked comfortable post-injury (knee).

    Mekhi Wingo was at 4.87

    2nd runs about to start

DeWayne Carter keeps jumping a touch too early

Unfortunately Fiske is 24 years old and has 31" arms or I'd be drooling

  3. I'd like to see Franklin hit the magic # on the bench. He's my #1 outside of the top 3 but if he can't pass the commonly-held threshold (can't recall what it is, 9? 10?) I'd get concerned he'd be too vulnerable vs. press coverage

No one's giving us a 3rd for Elam. Reportedly there were no offers for him beyond a bag of balls at the Deadline. That's why he wasn't moved. An injury riddled last part of the season where we didn't call on him until Douglas AND Benford went down didn't improve matters.

I find it highly unlikely that Beane is trading away a next year's 1st for anyone. His 1sts are gold to him. He didn't even trade away the extra 1st he had when we got Josh. The only time he did move a 1st was when Diggs was available and he decided he'd rather him than any WR that would be on the board when we picked that year. Future 1sts factor too much into his plans to replace players he may or may not be able to re-sign.

The other problem here is teams don't generally want to move down 20+ picks. Even if the value works, you still have to convince the team to move down THAT far. Very unlikely they'd want to.

Most mocks have Nabers going to the Giants at #6. I don't see any way they'd pass on him and give him to us. I don't care what the deal offered is.

KC sent us less to go from 27 to #10 for Mahomes, plus like I said Schoen owes us. Malik Nabers come on down LFGGGGGG

would you trade our 2025 1st + 60 + something else to acquire another 1st this year if it meant drafting both of those players?  I think their skills would complement each other well

If they both hit…which they should…

you are really really good at weapons for Allen for the next 5 seasons

    total nightmare for defenses.

    Diggs (1-3 years)

    Brian Thomas Jr

    Troy Franklin

    Khalil Shakir

    Dalton Kincaid

If I'm trading next year's 1st and this year's 2nd I'm including #28 and Elam to get in the top 7 for Nabers

Looking at this draft chart, getting up to #6 with the Giants is not crazy. If Elam is worth a third (~200), 2025 first worth ~400, that gets you to Minnesota at #11. Swap this year's 2nd for NYG's 4th (net 225) and I think we've got ourselves a deal. Schoen owes us! Malik Nabers you ARE a Buffalo Bill

Hypothetically, for those who have an idea of the depth of this WR class:

    Would you rather the Bills..

-Take a WR in RD1 and then again in say RD5

    or

-Take a WR on Day 2 and then again somewhere early Day 3

Id love to go WR in RD1 and then again on Day 2, but I get the feeling if we go WR RD1, we’ll be drafting defense for a while, whereas if a defensive playmaker on the DL is taken in RD1, I could see us taking two swings at WR in Rounds 2-4.

My ideal would be a high upside deep threat X receiver R1 then a versatile inside/outside guy R2 (like a Polk/Roman Wilson/McKonkey). Trade up in both rounds of that's what it takes to secure both. Use all chips at your disposal (the extra 5th/6ths this year, future expected comp picks, Elam, etc.) to make it happen. Give Josh an arsenal that's versatile, complete, high end, and stacked with depth to control for injury risk.

Why do Bills fans hate DE’s so much? Explain it to me. Please don’t say because they’ve drafted DE’s before.

We get zero pressure on Mahomes no matter how much we invest. What DE at 28 is going to change that? There are plenty of WRs in this draft that can give us more than Gabe & Sherfield at outside WR2. And we need several to ensure we aren't an injury away from exactly what we had this year at the position or worse. That's an actual difference made when trying to get over the hump against KC

I like Johnny Wilson’s frame but honestly if it wasn’t for Coleman that team would have struggled mightily. Wilson dropped a would be TD in every game I watched. Shouldn’t happen for a guy his size. I know the whole “body catching” thing can be overplayed but a guy with his reach should be using that wingspan to his absolute benefit.

If these mocks are falling they way the draft does and WR is the pick it has to be Mitchell or Thomas Jr. IMO.

Franklin not thicc enough for you? I'd take him over Mitchell, hands be damned. He looks like a taller DeSean Jackson to me, which would be lethal opposite Diggs

Drop rates for some top WRs in the 2024 #NFLDraft:
    • Johnny Wilson: 16.1%
    • Javon Baker: 10.6%
    • Devontez Walker: 8.5%
    • Troy Franklin: 7.3%
    • Keon Coleman: 7.2%
    • Marvin Harrison Jr: 6.9%
    • Ladd McConkey: 6.3%
    • Xavier Worthy: 5.4% MEDIAN DROP RATE
    • Malik Nabers: 4.9%
    • Xavier Legette: 4.8%
    • Rome Odunze: 4.8%
    • Ja’Lynn Polk: 4.8%
    • Brian Thomas Jr: 3.8%
    • Adonai Mitchell: 1.7%

I’m going to keep saying it. A Mitchell at 28 Bills

Nice, where is this from? I'd be interested to see others like Malik Washington, Roman Wilson, Jermaine Burton, Ricky Pearsall, Malachi Corley, McCaffrey, etc.

Had a dream last night that Harrison fell to the 11th pick and the Bills traded up to 11 but drafted a defensive end instead. One of the worst nightmares I've had.

    Truly harrowing!

    Mel Kiper's Top 10 WR's Big Board

    1. Marvin Harrison Jr.

    2. Rome Odunze

    3. Malik Nabers

    4. Brian Thomas Jr.

    5. Ladd McConkey

    6. Keon Coleman

    7. Xavier Worthy

    8. Adonai Mitchell

    9. Malachi Corley

    10. Xavier Legette

Troy Franklin doesn't even make his Top 10 list. Wild. McConkey is way too high for his size and (lack of) speed. Legette is too low IMO.

Odd... I guess Mel likes thicc bois over stick bois

We gotta hope we can hit on a WR like DK Metcalf who fell down the board into the late 2nd round after being touted early on as a projected higher first round pick.

We need the so called “experts” to wrongfully run down a few top tier WRs so they fall to us (in round one or if Beane decides BPA in rd. 1 isn’t a WR so he’ll be forced to jump up in rd. 2 which many of us expect because, like others with much more knowledge than me, I concur the drop off after the top five is pretty muddled but there will be some legit gems in there (that’s why many of us want two WRs in the first four rounds with S and DL fitting in with the BPA) but we just need something we have far too little of … luck.

No Cody Fords this year, that would be a big blow at this juncture.

One of the most depressing picks of all time. When I saw we traded up I said hell yeah we went and got DK Metcalf! Then I saw it was Ford and biggest let down ever. Been torture ever since thinking about DK opposite Stef 😭🤣

Isn’t that the wildest thing? The offense is undeniably worse without Tyreek but they still come away with back to back SBs… 🤯

Yeah, wild how their defense didn't fold like a cheap tent when it mattered

I don’t see a way they make it up that far without trading Diggs or something but I would be absolutely 100% down for that.

If he falls towards 10 I think we could make it happen 🤞

it's all quite cyclical, and defenses always catch up, so you really have to be able to do a few things to be a killer O.

this is why i think we are going to draft (hopefully later) a real bruising power back.  we are going to face nickle d's who want to crowd and body up on the wrs (frankly, that's the way you play to stop the bills), and having to tackle a big powerful ball carrier a bunch of times hits differently late in the 4th quarter.

    Day 3 Pacheco type please

Wouldn't it be great if Shorts could somehow be that guy? I guess we can dream.

Guessing he wouldn't have remained on IR if that were indeed the case but who really knows until probably August. I'm certainly not counting on it and I hope the FO isn't either

Anyone saying this isn’t cryptic or weird is just using blinders. He knows his contract doesn’t allow (financially, for the Bills) a trade so even if he wasn’t happy here, why not just say “I can’t wait to go at it with Josh and the boys again next year” or something equally non-attention grabbing. He’s a narcissist just like his brother.

A post June 1 Diggs trade saves $19mil against this year's cap. Doesn't help much with getting under the cap by March 15, but in theory Beane could make a big trade including Diggs in June or later. I hope not but it's something that could definitely be done cap-wise

I really shouldn’t have answered, because there is not enough info. What is the cost? Sure, I’d love Marvin Harrison Jr if we only have to kick in a 6th rounder, but that will never happen.  I said no way because I have to assume the cost would be enormous, and we have holes to fill with cheaper, younger guys. We need WR and defense.

If we want to win it all McDermott will get day 3 safeties and cheap FA fillers on his DL rotation and Josh will get studs 2 deep at every skill position plus OL
