How much would Sutton cost in a trade in terms of picks? $12mil is fine for a quality veteran X and totally doable, bird in hand, it's a Gabe upgrade for equal or lesser $
Then we can go best WR available on day 1 or 2 rather than trying to force an X, and draft a developmental X later
I'm into it if the pick capital isn't too steep

Yeah, I totally get this. I haven't studied his tape and I don't know if the "lazy" tag is accurate or not.
If so, it's a big red flag. I read in a combine interview that he likes to "vary" the speed of his routes:
"I never run routes full speed," said Mitchell during Friday's press conference. "That's just a part of my game that allows me to run routes for the whole drive and mostly just feel like I'm in control.
I'd like to know if the root of this, no pun intended, is laziness or something else.Maybe a chess move, lulling DBs into complacency? Just thinking outside the bun here

Here is Morse’s replacement come 2025 with the pick they got for Bates …His name is Tanor Bortolini …
I kinda hope not, dude has short arms and can't bench, could see him get owned by long-armed DTs blowing up pass plays instantly. Doesn't matter what your 40 time is at center if you lose leverage right away

They both take a lot of plays off.
Interesting. Honest question I haven't watched anything but highlights, did they take plays off in the playoffs? Were they potentially doing it in college to preserve themselves for the pro pay day? Is that a thing?

Let's not overthink this. Just do whatever it takes to trade up for Nabers or Rome and laugh all the way to the bank

I like Austin Reed. Bit of a funky throwing motion but has 50+ starts, a nice frame and some decent wheels. Could get by with him in a pinch for a game or 2 on a cheap deal for the next four years

Thats the biggest issue when you play cap games, which the Bills will be doing. Depth gets thinner.
Bills were extremely lucky health wise on the OL last year. It won’t happen again.
Yep this is obviously the year the IOL goes down FMLLL I'd rather have a high quality versatile IOL depth piece that knows our system inside & out than another rotational DE

Mitchell would be my pick. He just needs to add 10-15 pounds. Reminds me of CeeDee Lamb. I would be ecstatic. Kincaid and Mitchell in back to back drafts. I think he’s someone that can make a big impact in his rookie year. Having Diggs also gives him a little time to develop as well.
Yeah he's got great hands and subtlety in his routes. Now add on the measurables from this weekend and I'm all in on him

Rome Odunze. Move into top 10. A guy who not only participates in all of the combine activities, while most of his colleagues opt out, then redoes a drill multiple times by himself because he knows he can do better, needs to be on the Buffalo Bills.
I'm getting shades of the Kaiir notebook here...

You're probably the only one who still has Troy Franklin that high. While we all knew Xavier Worthy was fast, we didn't know he was THE fastest to EVER test. That's a big deal.
On the flip side, we thought Troy Franklin was 6'3" - he's 6'1". We thought although small, he was 195. He's 175. We thought he had Elite speed like Worthy - he's a 4.4 guy. Then in the on the field drills, he struggled. Probably the most all over the field gauntlet I've ever seen, dropping balls, and falling down in others.
Not to say he can't be a good WR one day. Just to say that the prognosticators were closer to his reality as a mid to late Round 2 guy than the posters of this board who were hyping him up as WR5 prior to the Combine. It was about as bad of a Combine for a guy that was hyped up around these parts as I can remember.
I was all aboard the Franklin train. New information changed my opinion. Very disappointed in how that all turned out for him across the board

A D. all day if we stay at #28 and he's still available

I'd go up to #6 for Nabers

Wow! What's this cost us in dead cap?
What a flop of a trade.
$500k dead cap vs. $4.5mil savings. No brainer cut

McConkey is an absolute route running master, Shakir is not in that class. I’m not dissing Shakir, but I think McConkey is going to be very good - just doesn’t fill the hole the Bills have outside, but then neither does Worthy.
There are more than 10 receivers in the draft that could really help the Bills, but not as many that will play outside where Davis played. I think we can discount Coleman and Franklin to the Bills round 1, but Mitchell and Legette probably fit that role.
Agreed, I think McCokey can eventually play outside at Z like Diggs but we need an X. If someone can convince me there's a Gabe upgrade at X later in the draft I can be convinced on Ladd earlier as an ultra slot/Z rotation piece early on that could take over for Diggs at Z in a couple years. Never opposed to more weapons. Have to walk away with an alpha height weight speed upgrade at X this draft at bare minimum though, that's my priority
4 hours ago, TheBeaneBandit said:True. Could still be a dark horse for me because when you watch the film he constantly runs away from people at that size. Impressive.
I'm also intrigued that he was a kick returner, need some sauce & instincts on top of speed for that. Eric Moulds started out as KR too

So now everyone loves A Mitchell after the combine?
Where were you guys all thread with me? Hes been my boy!!!
Yes, checks all the boxes for me now.
Age, frame, route running, hands, deep speed, explosiveness, ability to be an immediate Gabe upgrade with potential to be a #1 in 2-3 years as Diggs rolls off

Rice was taken in the second round and there was no guarantee the Bills would have drafted a WR in the second round after grabbing Kincaid in the 1st.
Yet they felt the need to jump us all the same 🤷

My dude, I think you're really setting yourself up for disappointment with the non-stop 28 AND 60 posts.
We usually fill 2 starting holes in Round 1 and Round 2. And with the amount of money we don't have this year and the amount of holes we have, it's more likely than ever this year.
Between Diggs, Round 1 WR, Kincaid, Shakir, and Knox - the next WR we take is looking at theoretically at best - 5th in targets and reps. The kind of reps that player would have isn't something you spend a 2nd on.
Meanwhile the odds that we'll need a Starter at another position like DE, DT, S or at least a DE or DT that would be 3rd in rotation who would be seeing the field FAR more is almost a given.
I do think we'll double down later. But if you're going to get upset if we only take 1 at 28 - probably best to prepare yourself for that now.
Starter at 28, succession planning at #60

And Rashee Rice last year

Yeah, he's got great hands and plays big in big games. Cosell really likes him. We're going to have to trade up from #28 to get him.
I'll blow a gasket if the Chiefs trade up ahead of us and grab him.
Legit worst case scenario. If they trade Sneed they'll have more than enough ammo to do so if they please

Check out Masson Smith LSU. I'm hoping he is available in round 3. I would move up in round 3 to draft him.
Maason Smith in 3rd plus Jordan Jefferson at 1T day on 3, who says no? The poor man's Sweat/Murphy 1T/3T college running mate duo?
