This draft is absolutely loaded with wide receivers and I would consider trading away our 2025 2nd rounder we got from the Diggs Trade to get back into the 3rd round.

    My sleepers are:

    Javon Baker

    Ja’Lynn Polk

    Jamari Thrash

They won't wow you with their measurables, but they get open and catch the ball.

Love Polk! If we traded down and got him in the 40's while adding more picks it would be a great draft

I agree -- the only caveat I have is that if there is as great of demand for other teams to move up to #33 as Beane claims, he would be hard-pressed to avoid trading down if an offer comes in that is too good to refuse.

Great public negotiating, get a team like Arizona to overpay to only move down 2 slots. If we have 2 or more similarly graded receivers still on the board, hit that bid all day

Hopefully they can trade down slightly and get a big deal say an early 3rd.

yeah at this point seems they're comfortable with a number of receivers left, might as well just keep trading down and letting the board fall to you at WR. Take three dart throws at receiver (two tonight and another tomorrow) and fortify the rest of the roster with as many top ~150 picks as possible. Trade 6th & 7th rounders remaining this year for 5th & 6th rounders next year

You can't teach the kind of speed Worthy has, but you can turn him into a better route runner and thats exactly what Andy Reid will do with Worthy IMO, unfortunately...

Yeah he's their new Desean Jackson but faster

I think that a Center is actually very realistic - thinking that they're going into the season with McGovern at Center and sliding Edwards in as a starter at guard isn't something that Beane would just be OK with - meaning that they're targeting a high draft pick to either come in and start right away, or at least by mid-season

I'm not TOTALLY opposed, but that would be prime trade back for more assets and get one top/mid 2nd round if so

See Puka Nucua’s name once in that thread, and its bottom of someone’s list.  Even if we get one of the “names” early, can always strike gold with a later round flier too.

Jalen Coker's my day 3 sleeper, hope we use a 6th on him if he's there and wouldn't hate a 5th

  7. Bills send #28, #144, MN 2025, and Kaiir Elam to San Francisco for #31 & Brandon Aiyuk. They don't have to draft a CB early and get a better shot at an Aiyuk's replacement at 28, we get our new #1 WR and still maintain a first rounder

I can buy that on Thomas.  I watched all his targets yesterday.  The straightine speed is absurd,  no doubt about it,  and maybe thats enough for a mid/late 1st.  Everything else...meh.  I'm not going to argue if they pick him,  I've been wrong before.  I just don't see it.

Yeah I did too. Some confusing drops, couldn't tell if maybe the sun was in his eyes or something because they were bizarre, gave me bad Gabe flashbacks. But I see his floor as a crazy fast Gabe Davis, which definitely has value, even if he only gets 3-5 targets a game but he's running 25 go routes/game his rookie year. The threat is real

Just wanted to reiterate all three points you just highlighted.

I have believed for a couple weeks now that Nabers has a good chance to be the first WR drafted, and that many NFL teams (if not the majority) have him over MHJ. The things he does best are exactly what is en vogue in the NFL right now.

I, too, have some serious concerns about BTJ. He is a height/weight/speed guy who seems to be seriously lacking in some of the most important traits and abilities that a WR can possess. I understand teams thinking they can coach him up, and obviously the physical tools are intriguing, but...he scares the bejesus out of me. I don't think he has much of a floor. I think his floor is "outright bust".

And lastly, anyone who thinks Worthy is John Ross or any kind of one-trick pony just hasn't watched him much. They key is that he doesn't just have straight line speed, he also has lateral speed, quickness, and agility, and it allows him instant separation on shorter routes at times. I think he's gonna be a very good player in this league.

Can't wait for draft night, and God I hope Beane and crew choose wisely from the WR pool.

Totally get it on BTJ. But he has blazing speed that has to be respected in a huge frame no less. If teams have to play high safeties or else get burned for a TD in the blink of an eye, that's where the underneath mismatches get exploited with all the short area/YAC threats we have (Kincaid, Shakir, Samuel, Cook, and Josh).

So I could definitely see a bust if he's expected to be your #1 from day 1. For a fit with the pieces around him I think he works very well with the skill sets we have decided to emphasize on the roster.

    My blockbuster trade prediction is:

    Bills receive:

    Justin Jefferson

    2025 4th

    Vikings receive:

    2024 1st

    2025 2nd

Can we fit his $19mil under the cap? This seems insanely cheap for him and obviously something I'd do in a heartbeat if so

i do not like options 2 and 3 at all. why give up the MN #2 next year AND move back just to pick up another 2 this year. I didn't look up the value chart data but i don't see how the numbers work in our favour.

I used this draft chart, it's exactly even if you consider MN 2025 the equivalent of mid-third rounder this year (general rule is a 1-round discount for year-ahead picks).

    https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart-Rich-Hill.asp?RequestTeam=buf

Also you move up at least a round back into the end of day 3 in both scenarios as well

  12. Thought it would be fun to try to predict some draft day trades to see which (if any) come to fruition (or close) after the fact

    My three favorite:

Bills send #28, #60, and MN 2025 2nd rounder to Seattle for #16 and #81. Bills draft Brian Thomas Jr. with #16 and maintain a 2024 day 2 pick.

Bills send #28, #60, #144 and MN 2025 to Carolina for  #33, #39, and #101. Bills draft two second tier WR's at #33 & #39, get the first pick on day 3. Could easily use one of the five 4th/5th rounders to trade back into day 2 from #101.

Bills send #28, #60, and MN 2025 to Washington for #36, #40, and #100. Bills draft two second tier WR's at #36 & #40, get the last pick of day 2 and maintain all picks on day 3.

It’s tough to see how the Bills could work a deal to pay an expensive vet contract. They chose not to be more aggressive on contract restructures so that tells me that they chose not to go the high priced vet route. I think they’ll target next offseason to add talent that way. This season it’s just the draft.

Oh yeah I was referring to the supposed Herbert to MN rumor

And they were trying to retain Calvin Ridley after they signed Davis and lost him.

They do have Gabe Davis, Zay Jones, Devin Duvernay, and Christian Kirk in the Slot. So it's possible they go elsewhere and wait on WR.

But with them seriously trying to retain Ridley and not being able to get it done, i'd assume they're still looking for a bigger piece alongside Davis than Zay.

Sorry I was joking there's no way Gabe should stop them from drafting a guy like BTJ

I’d rather go get MHJ to be honest. I’m not as high on Jefferson as most for whatever reason. Although he’s still 24 so that’s a plus

The CTESPN thing is a rumor of Herbert to the Vikings

I'm no cap expert but looks like a trade hits the Chargers with $63mil dead cap for this year? But a post June 1 trade is only $13mil? Can picks exchange hands on Thursday with a player being designated a post June 1 officially?

I don't think our 2nd next year is enough to get to get from 28 to 17. And if Thomas makes it to the Jaguars, the Jaguars are probably just going to take him. The feeling around Thomas is that we'd have to get ahead of the Jaguars to ensure him.

But they just signed Gabe Davis 🤣
