Unless Jim Kelly is now an owner of the Bills, or in a top management position, this should have ZERO bearing on the situation. What matters most is bringing in a top level coach who can get the Bills to the SB, sooner rather than later. I would say that Harbaugh fits the bill perfectly.

Yes, a professional football player, who is a Captain of the team, who makes tens of millions of dollars a year, working only seven months out of the year, is exactly the same as your average Joe working an 8-5 office job, 5-6 days a week, every week, all year long, for about $60-70k. Exactly the same….no difference at all. 🙄

I’ve seen this posted over and over again in the last few days, and yes, it seemed *likely* that the Chiefs would have marched down the fold and gotten a game winning FG, BUT….there are no guarantees. It certainly wasn’t an absolute, and anything could have happened (INT, strip sack, fumble, defense holds and they punt & Bills get ball and get GW FG).

Sometimes the right answer is the most obvious answer: because it’s a team sport. No matter how good ONE guy is, ya need a lot more than that.

No, what’s gross is that for the last couple of months I have had to put up with people disrespecting me by very often doling out those insulting emojis on my posts, simply because I had a different opinion. So yeah, when it turns out I was right, you betcha I’m pleased that I was vindicated. Now, this is not to say that I wanted the Bills to lose, or that I was not as big a fan as anybody….FOR 50+ YEARS….because I didn’t and I AM. But I also can be objective about the Bills, while many in here cannot. This very thread illustrates the latter.

The counterpoint here is that JA and a couple other QBs in the league (Stroud is one) do not have to "step into" their throws all the time (within reason/obviously can't arm only throw a 60 yarder) to make a good throw. So bottom line is that you're making an excuse for JA. -
From your own 30, down only 3 in the 4th qtr, at home?! Umm, not only no, but Hell NO! It was an absolutely terrible call. Also, making Martin the active punter for the game was just as terrible. I'd bet the farm that Matt Araiza would have been able to flip the field in that game. Another front office blunder. But McD & Beane deserve more years to get it right! 🙄 The call was made on the sideline BEFORE the teams trotted out and got set, just FYI. 😉 So the "they only had 10 men out there" narrative is BS.

I mean, maybe tell the safety on Kelce's side to cover him when he runs by Klein? Do something, anything other than just letting him run wide open. Just spitballing here....LOL

I read in here this morning that the Bills had only 2 "walk throughs" and no practices in prep for this game, even though my calendar says they had FIVE FULL FREE DAYS (Tuesday-Saturday) before Sunday rolled around! Yeah, there's definitely something to be said about dedication, drive, and ambition affecting your success. I have been saying all year that most of the Bills have had very little of the aforementioned traits.

Going back and reading through this thread is quite interesting. Bottom line: I am vindicated, while OTOH many others were so far off base that it's astounding.

Sort of like how the receivers are paid to CATCH THE BALL?! LOL Or how the defensive linemen are paid to put pressure on and/or sack the QB and stop the run? Or how JA17 is paid to read the defense and make a good throw to the best available option? Or how Sam Martin is paid to punt it farther than 40 yards? Or how McD is paid to conduct good clock management, and good use of available personnel?

Would an extra day of rest helped the Bills?
Bob Jones replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe an extra day for the receivers to practice catching balls might have helped! -
Actually, plenty of athletes have gone to "head doctors" to get their minds back to focus on their sporting performance. It worked for the guys in "The Natural", right?! 😂
-
Ha ha. Love the reference to Sean Connery in "The Rock" from 1996. Although the exact quote is: "Winners go home and F*** the prom queen." 😉
-
Ha ha. Obviously, the receivers need/needed to spend MORE TIME at practice catching balls, every week, all year long. Practice makes perfect, or close to it anyways. 😉
-
That long pass was 62 yards in the air, albeit a little bit wind aided, but WOW! Obviously, it should have been caught....ANY NFL receiver should make that catch. Sheeit, most top D1 college players would make that catch. Do the Bills practice catching balls during the week, at all? @Royale with Cheese LOL

I don’t think Bass deserves to be cut. Last week his foot slipped on the turf when he duck hooked that one kick. And yesterday the wind seemed to have a great effect on the ball. I know in the game day thread some people were saying he's got a "bad slice", similar to what a golf hacker does. Question: is that even possible, considering the physics of it? I'm no scientist, but I don’t even think it's physically possible to put the spin on an oblong ball during a FG try, to make it "slice" like a golf ball does. If the kick is hit properly, AND the ball is tumbling end over end, there can be zero side spin on it. The latter is very different from a punt, which of course can have sidespin, as the foot contact the ball in a totally different way vs a placekick.

Divisional Playoffs - Chiefs at Bills - Post game thread
Bob Jones replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills are exactly who I thought they were…a pretty good team with a great QB, a mediocre coach, a couple young rising stars on offense, and a lot of aging/middling talent that needs to be replaced. For anybody who’s watched all their games this year, the latter seemed fairly obvious. Myself and a few others have been saying this for months now, and taking a lot of puke emojis, Red Xs, Eyerolls, and Thumb downs in here, but that’s OK. The injuries definitely didn’t help, but in the end, I believe Reid would have outcoached McD in any case, and the results would have been the same. JA can only do so much, as this is a true team sport. -

The best/smartest thing to do would have been to continue to methodically march down the field and score a TD, leaving as little time on the clock as possible. In the latter case, the Bills would be up by 4, and KC would need a TD. The coaches certainly could have directed JA to do the latter and/or even run plays with no deep patterns. Also, in doing the latter, hopefully you force KC to use their TOs, making a TD comeback for them even harder. -

The fact that Martin was even active for the game is another coaching failure, in my view.
