  1. Who said anything about career aspirations? It was a job I held after I came out of college til I joined up in the USAF. Honestly though, most broadcasting jobs pay very litte. But to your point, I'm quite sure that the determining factor for most people, for most jobs, is what they will get paid (just as it is for most pro athletes). And also, the less they are tasked to do, the happier they are....again, speaking for most people. The latter is why so many people are screaming like a cat being held over a toilet after being told they need to get their butts back in the office and stop working from home. LOL
  2. I disagree. I used to work on air in radio (not talk though, just playing music). It's literally a cake job...like getting money for doing nothing. Easiest job I ever had.
  3. "Will the next person that sees anybody throw anything onto this field, point them out and get them out of here? You don't live in Cleveland, you live in Cincinnati!" - Sam Wyche, Cincinnati coach, in 1989 LOL
  4. I'll never understand the take that "they're not happy out there", or "they're not having fun out there." I guess If you're on a losing team, and are constantly getting pummeled, it's not that great, but these guys are living the dream, getting paid unGodly amounts of money for playing a game, about 6 months a year. No matter what, they should be relatively happy, and thank their lucky stars for where they are in life. Tens of millions of American men would give their left nut to be a pro football player. They've got real camaraderie with about 50-70 other humans for 6 mo ths out of the year, while many people are lucky to have a handful of close friends at work. They are adored by the community, and are treated like Rock Stars. If they can't be happy, or loose, for 3 hours a week on game day, IMO, they've got some serious mental problems. Playing the game should ALWAYS be fun.
  5. TBF, on that play where Denver ran in its FG unit, the clock was running, the Bills were out of timeouts, and they also ran in some players (saw at least 5 on the replay) on their FG defensive unit, and there literally was no time for somebody on the Bills side to do a head count. And even if they did the count, and realized they had 12 guys out there, nothing could be done about it since they had no TOs and there wasn’t enough time for the guy to run off. Who was going to be out there for the FG should have been decided during one of the TWO timeouts the Bills had just previously used. IMHO, the FG defensive unit should have already been out there on Denver’s 3rd down….in that situation there’s always a chance that a team will kick it on 3rd down anyway (in case there’s a fumbled snap, they can do it again/earlier in the game Denver did have a fumbled snap). In this case though, Denver wanted to run the clock down to nuthin, and that’s why they didn’t spike the ball on 3rd down.
  6. I agree, and the most disappointing thing is that they made no effort to conceal the fact that it was coming, so Russell Wilson knew exactly what to do. Also, the coverage was pure garbage. Jeudy was past Johnson almost immediately. How in holy hell do you let a guy get behind you so quickly, especially at that point in the game!? That is one time where Johnson absolutely should have been playing back a little and keeping Jeudy in front of him. It was 3rd and 10 with :35 on the clock when the play started and Denver had no timeouts left.
  7. Umm, the Bills are not a good team. They are mediocre at best, and far from good. The Bills have had one noteworthy win (vs Fish) this year, and that’s it.
  8. Even if Josh would have gone down at the one, like some are saying, that would be gambling big. The TD run was on 2nd and goal, if he went down at the 1 instead of getting the TD, the clock was at about 1:55, so they could have run it down to 1:15 for 3rd and goal, and that's if Denver doesn’t stop it before then, as they still had 2 TOs. Even if Denver had zero TOs, running it in was the right call. You only do that delay if the score is tied, so you won't lose if all of a sudden you can't punch it in.
  9. So not sure if the final moments have been detailed in this thread, but I just rewatched it. The 12 man debacle was just mind blowing, as the Bills had just used TWO timeouts (After the PI on Johnson was called, the Bills called TOs after Denver’s 1st down and 2nd down kneel downs by Wilson). So they obviously knew the FG was coming up very soon, and they had plenty of time during the two TOs to “get their ducks in a row”, yet they didn’t. Seems obvious to me that one player may have screwed up big time. I assume that the FG defensive unit is always the same 11 guys, so unless one of those guys was injured, who was the 12th guy who shouldn’t have been out there? After Wilson did the kneel down on 3rd down (that play started with :24 left), the Broncos had to run their FG team out there (as the clock was running) and the Bills ran at least FIVE guys from the sideline out there. There really wasn’t time for a Bills defensive Capt to do a head count at that point; and it wouldn’t have mattered anyway because they couldn't call a TO, and there wouldn’t have been enough time for the 12th man to run off the field. Bottom line is that during those two TOs everything should have been planned out as to who was going to be out there for the FG. Hell, the FG defensive unit should have been put out there on 3rd down.
  10. Up until the PI was called on Johnson, the Bills were in good shape. It was 3rd and 10 from about midfield when the PI was called, and that stopped the clock at :35, and then the Broncs had the ball at the 17 yard line. The Broncs had no timeouts going into the 3rd down, so once they got the PI and were down in easy FG range, it did make sense for McD to try and save time (by calling those 2 TOs after 1st & 2nd downs) in the hopes that Denver might spike the ball on 3rd, make the FG and then kickoff to the Bills with about 20 secs. left. ALSO, they could have fumbled the snap on 2nd & 3rd down.....stranger things have happened. In THIS instance, using those final 2 TOs did make sense, but as it turned out, Denver ran another kneel down play on 3rd down, ensuring that the clock would keep running and it would leave the Bills with very little time after the made FG anyway (was 4 seconds left when the first FG went wide right).

I assume that the FG defensive unit is always the same 11 guys, so unless one of those guys was injured, who was the 12th guy who shouldn’t have been out there? Or maybe the FG defensive unit is just whatever 11 guys are out there on 3rd down? Who knows, but I would like an explanation, just for s**ts & giggles. OK, I just rewatched the end of the game. After Wilson did a kneel down on 3rd down, the Broncos had to run their FG team out there (as the clock was running) and the Bills ran at least FIVE guys from the sideline out there, so they must have a designated FG defensive unit.
  12. I was specifically addressing a post by somebody that said the Special Teams coach should have been fired today. I agree with you re McD and the “Big Picture” of the team. 😉
  13. OK, listen, I’m all for Pegula dumping McD in January unless he somehow miraculously turns this team around this year, and they go to the SB……BUT, these are NFL players, the best football players ON THE PLANET. They’re not Little Loopers, or high schoolers. Other than pro level complicated schemes, plays, and coverages, they should NOT need a lot of coaching for basic skills such as tackling, route running, covering kicks, blocking, and catching passes. Please get real.
  14. Why? Is the coach hitting those short punts? How about on the coverage of punts….are the players not responsible for staying in their lanes, shedding blocks, and making good tackles? This Bills team is FILLED with players who DO NOT execute….DO NOT DO THEIR JOBS….on game days. Have been seeing it ALL YEAR LONG. Yes, coaching is integral to a successful team, BUT there is only so much the coaches can do. Like I’ve said a few times in here recently, it looks like a lot of these players are just in it for the paycheck, and could not care less whether they win or lose. Missing the playoffs means more time off for them, and I’m certain many players are just fine with that.
  15. Same here, although I never imagined it would be for something so stupid. I remember in my HS football days (40+ years ago) on any special teams play, there was ALWAYS one guy on the field assigned to make sure we had 11 guys, and only 11, on the field. When I saw the flag, I thought it would be for the Bills using hands to the face, or maybe jumping up onto another guys back to try and block it, which would have been Billsy for sure, but not as bad as the idiotic coaching failure of 12 guys on the field.
  16. Being serious, slim and none. If they can’t win the games they should win, they have no chance against teams that are better than them. In all honesty, they should have lost vs the Giants, and they were lucky as heck to get the W vs Tampa Bay. Did you see what the Cowboys did to the Giants the other day? You think the Bills can beat them!? Anything is *possible*, but it’s not realistic. I think they win 3 more games, at the most.
  17. Any owner that would let a player dictate his team’s staffing decisions is weak and pathetic. I don’t see it happening, honestly. You don’t let the residents run the asylum.
  18. Not sure if this has been asked in here yet, but I don’t have the time to go through 26 pages. How much “new stuff” can Brady even bring in in the middle of the season? Don’t they pretty much have to stick with the playbook they have, and *maybe* add a few wrinkles to that? Can the offensive players learn new stuff in weeks?
  19. First the Penn State OC, now Dorsey….who’s next? Don’t these firings come in 3s!? 🤔😂
  20. These are the Buffalo Bills we’re talking about here. You know that, right?
  21. Should have canned McClappy too, obviously. Dorsey is the scapegoat. He didn’t drop balls or throw INTs or fumble the ball. X4
  22. I suspect that this may be true, but I’d like some details/proof/inside info…..You got any?
  23. Only thing I figure is that he thought that after Denver made the FG, there’d still be a little time left on the clock for the Bills to receive a kickoff and pull off their own 13 second miracle. If he didn’t call the TOs, Denver was going to let the clock run down to nuthin and spike it at about 2 secs.
  24. No. They should sell the team ASAP. Shouldn't Terry P. be concentrating on his wife/family at this time anyways?
