McDermott weird comments about Josh Allen
Bob Jones replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't care who the OC is, or how "bad" your team is, if you're making $40 mil A YEAR (6 months, really), and you're playing a game, and you're not happy just to go out there and play, you need professional, mental help.- 464 replies

Browns hosting QB Joe Flacco for workout
Bob Jones replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's just like in the movie "Moneyball!" 😂 Good for Flacco. -
Clarissa Thompson admits to fabricating sideline reports.
Bob Jones replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
What she "made up" was probably exactly what they would have said anyway. She shouldn't have done it, but those sideline interviews are worthless, and VERY predictable as to what they will say. The *only* time they might be worthwhile is when let's say a player gets injured in the first half, and then at halftime the coach has some inside info re the condition of said injured player. But in my decades of watching pro/college football, they very rarely have that info either, usually, it's just "the docs are looking at him, and we'll have more info later tonight." -
Will a win over the Jets to get to 6-5 bring everyone back in?!?!

So, for more than 4 hours? Just like the 100mg dose. 😂 -

It's in Orchard Park. 12th man gets the win, baby! And, no, not the 12th man on the defense. 😂 -

I agree with most of what you're saying....my Dad used to always say that the Bills are born losers, LOL...but those 2 timouts taken by McClappy at the end of the game were not to freeze the kicker. They were taken because after the defensive PI penalty was committed by Johnson, everybody in the world knew that Denver was just going to run the clock down as close to zero as possible before they kicked the GW FG. He was stopping the clock hoping they might get the ball back after the successful FG, and pull a 13 seconds on Denver. But Sean Payton outsmarted him and did not stop the clock (by spiking the ball on 3rd down), and that's when both teams had the Chinese fire drill getting their FG units on to the field. In all the confusion, the Bills ended up with 12 guys out there. Personally, if I'm McD, I would have put the defensive FG unit out on the field after their final timeout. No reason to have your Dime Pkg still out there, as Denver was not going to chance it by running a normal play, with no timouts left, and :24 on the game clock. -

Yes, in a NY minute. Guarantee we'd all be back on the SB train! 😉 -
Just perused this site. As others have noted, Bills need to go at least 5-2 for the rest of the year AND get some "help" from other teams. The fat lady isn't singing yet for the Bills, but she's in the studio, warming up.

I'm a realist who many would call a pessimist, but even I haven't gone into a Bills game in about 5 years thinking like this. Now once the game begins, and they show me that they're not looking like Aces, then yes, in the back of my mind I'm thinking "they'll probably choke this one away." I guess deep, deep down, I really am an optimist, because pre game, I am thinking that JA17 will revert back to his superstar performances, and the Bills win in a blowout, no matter who they're playing.

The Buffalo Bills trading away Josh Allen any sooner than say, 10 years from now, would be the dumbest trade in the history of professional sports, I don’t care what they get for him. It would be very Billsy though, I'll give you that. 🤪

What’s your opinion of Gabe Davis on this play?
Bob Jones replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Davis did good. The most amazing thing about this play is Allen's throw though. There's only a handful of people on the planet who can do what he did on this play. I'd bet even the defensive secondary were looking at each other after the play and saying "WTF did I just see?" LOL -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - On Scapegoats and Five and Five
Bob Jones replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am in agreement with you on the above. I have been wondering ALL YEAR LONG what is it, exactly, that this team does in practices and meetings, because their play on the field looks like they hardly practice at all. I was flabbergasted at their poor game vs the Bengals when they had TEN DAYS to prepare for it. Did they practice/have meetings for 9 out of those 10 days? Who knows? I suggested that the week prior to that game, ALL of the team should have been made to come in to OBD and sit and watch the Bengals vs 49ers game on Sunday afternoon. Finally, besides Dorsey, JA had a separate QB coach, no? Wasn’t that Joe Brady, our new OC? I would think that the QB coach would be the guy to "fix" Allen's problems, moreso than Dorsey....I mean what else is there for him to do? -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - On Scapegoats and Five and Five
Bob Jones replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coaches tell JA to throw into double or triple coverage? Coaches tell JA to ignore the underneath routes and throw deep downfield when it's 3rd and short? Coaches tell JA to get happy feet and abandon the pocket when there’s no need to? Coaches tell JA to make virtually every throw at full velocity? Coaches tell JA to make inaccurate throws to open receivers? OK, LOL. I'm done here. -
If the Bills only put up 10 points, they should fire McClappy at 7:30pm Sunday night.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - On Scapegoats and Five and Five
Bob Jones replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
LMAO. Yes, very few experts/talking heads are going to come right out and blame JA, especially former players. But if you read between the lines, both Kurt Warner and the Manning brothers did exactly that this week. There is such a thing as a players' fraternity, and it's even stronger for the fraternity of ex NFL QBs, but at some point, even some of them have the gonads to be honest. I think that Bills' "Mafia" who think JA17 can do no wrong are embarassing to intelligent Bills' fans. Other fanbases definitely see the latter. Take off your blinders for a little bit and look around. 😉 -
Yep. And the irony is that before the season started he came out and publicly proclaimed that, and I'm paraphrasing here because I don’t remember the exact quote, "I'm going to really be concentrating on my game this year."

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - On Scapegoats and Five and Five
Bob Jones replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
After watching A LOT of "experts" break down the film from Bills' games, every week, over the past couple months, I can say with certainty that it IS INDEED primarily Josh's fault. Anybody who denies the latter is either a homer with blinders on, or just lying to themselves. I've stated this here and there in this forum this year, and of course I've been downvoted into oblivion, but I'm right. An old saying comes to mind, "None are so blind as those who refuse to see." -
Just watched Warners reviw. That 4th down play is a real eye opener. Both guys running the short flat routes...Cook on the left and Kincaid on the right....would have been good choices for JA to go to right away, but after he doesn't, and he scrambles to the right, BOTH of those guys turn and take of flying to go straight down the field. Both of them, after turning upfield and taking off, just had to put on the brakes and turn around (especially Kincaid because he was on the right side, same side that JA scrambled to), and both of them would have been 7-10 yards past the 1st down marker, and would have been an easy 1st down pitch & catch. Both of those guys' situational awareness was TERRIBLE. Did they not know it was 4th down and only about 2 yards to go?! It's just mind boggling....

Actually, like I said, they really should have had their defensive FG squad in place on 3rd down, because Denver was just killing time before kicking the FG, ssssooooo, the Head ball coach, Sean McClappy, should have made the decision and directed his FG squad to get out there for 3rd down, after the Bills used their final timeout. That would have been his call, NOT the STs coach. 😉 I highly doubt the STs coach can just make those types of decisions on his own. It’s 13 seconds part 2…the Head Coach needed to step up and override the STs coach. As it actually happened, the Bills’ FG unit had to do a “Chinese Fire Drill” with the Dime Pkg players already on the field, as the clock was ticking down after Denver’s 3rd down kneel down. Please tell me, exactly, AT THAT POINT, how does the STs coach ensure that the proper 11 guys are out there!? 🤔 That throw by JA17 was late AND BEHIND Davis, and that’s the primary reason why it was picked. That is clearly seen in the video.
-
I have no doubt that every Bills fan loves JA17. However, we know how great he can be on the field, and we all want to see that again. We all want the fumbles, interceptions, bad reads, and bad decisions to come to an end. In fact, we are all hoping and praying for the latter, and sooner rather than later. 😉
-
100% correct, and it is really sad that WNY fans have such limited, one sided media coverage of their teams. We really saw this at play for the whole Kim Pegula situation.
-
Seems obvious to me that one player may have screwed up big time. I assume that the FG defensive unit is always the same 11 guys, so unless one of those guys was injured, who was the 12th guy who shouldn’t have been out there? After Wilson did the kneel down on 3rd down (that play started with :24 left), the Broncos had to run their FG team out there (as the clock was running) and the Bills ran at least FIVE guys from the sideline out there, going from their Dime Pkg to the FG unit. There really wasn’t time for a Bills defensive Capt to do a head count at that point; and it wouldn’t have mattered anyway because they couldn't call a TO, and there wouldn’t have been enough time for the 12th man to run off the field. Bottom line is that during those two previous TOs that the Bills took (after Denver's 1st and 2nd downs, immediately after the PI call on Johnson) everything should have been planned out as to who was going to be out there for the FG. Hell, the FG defensive unit should have been put out there on 3rd down.
-
I really enjoy what the Manning bros have to say, and agree with you about Buck & Aikman,....but the problem is that they don’t take the same video feed as the main broadcast, so you dont get nowhere near the good replays that they show on the main channel. And then very often, they're yakking with their guest and you really miss out on stuff, such as the ref announcing a penalty, or multiple angle replays. Also, is there really a need to see their faces in little boxes on the screen for the WHOLE broadcast?! I think not. 😉
