Good writeup OP. But the CB's as a positive?? Benford was good but Tre was IMO one of the top reasons we lost this game. Tre White missed/whiffed on 2 tackles that would have stopped the Jets from scoring FG's. One on the Hall long run and another on 3rd and long. Then Tre was burned 1-on-1 for the tieing TD by the Jets. How is nobody talking about TRE??? "Oh, he's an all pro... oh he was great in college.. oh we was injured". The dude sucks!!!! he cost us this game. weakest link on a great D. Also - Lenrod Floyd - amazing game!!

Because he called a brutal game. Calling runs up the middle with a smurf back like Cook is insane vs a D like the Jets. Then, we put Harris and Murray in for a quick rep and bingo - the run works. But nooo, we go back to Cook and forcefully feed him the ball up the middle. When things start working Dorsey always calls it the opposite. Hes brutal.

Now that you are realizing Josh isn't all that and he can't read the field vs good defenses - let's also discuss the Tre White joke that it is. Two important missed/whiffed tackles: One clearly on the Breece long run. Tre missed him completely and Breece ran for the length of the field. Jets score a FG. Next one, third and long... Tre again whiffs on the tackle behind the line and Jets convert and get another FG. THEN - Tre 1-on-1 for the tieing TD. The dude is brutal! He is the weak link on a good D. Do your job Tre and we may have won. Josh Allen: "Same ol shi$t, different day". wow. (Post game presser). We need a CB. Benford was giving it his all. Tre is a weanie.

Kincaid will look good - do his part. I bet he has an impact and I bet Sherfield does even more. Can't wait!

I agree that this can be a statement game for the Bills. We NEED to win. You say a loss isn't as much of a big deal? I disagree. If we lose, we continue the Bills are soft and declining story that is out there with some media pundits. If we lose to the jets we still have one of the most daunting schedules ahead of us. This is a game we "should" win on our sked. If not, we are in for a tough season IMO. Let's see what we have with our new receivers and Defense. Gonna be a BIG game boys!

Lions ran it down their throats when they needed to and wanted to. KC has no run D. Lions pressured mahomes all night. Forced him into uncomfy throws. It's week 1 but we will see what happens.

Well said. It really comes down to how soon we can get Tre off the field. He is lost and wimpy. His injury just makes it 100% worse. With benford and Elam/Dane combo we will be fine! Tre will get cooked... again.

My only worry is that with Benford starting the Jets (and every team) will pick on Tre and burn him as per usual. I hope to see Benford and Elam/Dane at CB sooner than later. Bank on it. Torrence - yeah Baby!! Bernard - love it. Fast and can cover! Kirksy can sub in obvious run plays/schemes. This can be perfect for the long run this season.

The ones that counted. I didn't hear his name because he wasn't making plays. I heard his name too much because he was overrated. I'm a long-time Bills fan... Tre has been a mediocre over glorified CB. We will see... I sure hope he can elevate his play. we will see. I sure hope you are correct.

I sure hope so! I was never a big Tre fan in the first place. I think he had a lot of good games vs less talented teams. He built stats in games where he piled the tackles, int's in meaningless games. But when we face a good team with good receivers he is absent. He does not attack like a "new NFL" CB. he doesn't have and never did have that animal instinct. Tre is good (or can be) but not great. He worries me too and NFL coaches know this. Monday night will sure show us a lot. My worry is we will watch the Tre-get-burned holding his hands up in the air Tre... like we usually do.

Gonna be a tough game! Go Bills. We will be ready. I hope McD and Dorsey can call good games on both sides of the ball because the Jets will be swinging hard!

Ive been preaching this since they secured Harty and Sherf. We got two very good players this off-season. Beaner went for them fast too.

and anyone who says "we need him in December/January - not September/October" is setting themselves up for disappointment. We need him for ALL the games. That's why we went out and spent big $ for him. Needing him in December assumes we are in it in December. I hope we are.... WGR has been saying this too since day 1.

The AFC North is a great division this year. Cincy, Balt and Steelers are looking tough! I wish the Bills were tougher but we will see. Miami, NE and the Jets all got better. It's gonna be tough.

They don't lack "leadership".. they simply and truly lack toughness! This is not a tough team. We don't have that "guy" that can wreck an O line like a Watt or Bosa. Even Miami has a "guy" on their D line that wrecks us every game. Also - Our O is very wimpy.

I get that point - but the Phins were beat up too. To the point their QB was out, and the 2nd stringer was out. They had multiple defensive injuries too. Such a lame excuse - it's football.

Lot's of question marks and "ifs" in your OP response. The biggest "if" is IF Tua stays in for their season, the Phins are a much better team than the Bills. They are faster, their offense runs a lot of motion and interesting plays. That is O coaching which they are better. All around, I'd say they have a stronger team. Again, this is with Tua. If Tua didn't miss all those games last year including our playoff tilt - they beat us. I love the Bills but the Phins are gonna be tough this year!

I get it. We were 13-3 and that is fantastic. But towards the end we were not looking good, at all. Barely beat a Miami team with a backup QB and then got killed by Cincy. I know I may have overreacted but man... we looked brutal yesterday as starters. Even Tua, who threw a pick on his 1st pass, recovered and orchestrated a fast-paced TD drive next series x 2. Yes - I overeacted for sure. I was super pissed. I closed my laptop and walked away. I sure hope these boys can turn it around!

Are you kidding me?!? It's the new NFL. These boys are killer athletes and ours look like wimps. It is concerning. I call it now - we end up in third and maybe even fourth in the division. You heard it here first.
