  1. I'd feel a hell of a lot better about this prediction it it included another preposition.
  2. You can bet his wife and kids (if old enough to understand what's at stake) do... Good guy. I really hope he's not putting his long-term wellness in jeopardy right now.
  3. I actually think it's good for the BIlls and Josh if guaranteed money for QBs stays high but the average salary doesn't escalate: It means our competitors will be stuck with overpriced QBs or will have a lot of dead money to deal with, making them less competitive. We likely don't have to worry about guaranteed money with Josh as he a) has given ample evidence to show he is a top-level QB and b) he's pretty durable (yes, I know...). So teams being stuck with bad QBs because of too much guaranteed money works for me.
  4. They must feel like champions to win it all. Without that confidence it won't happen. But if they feel like they're dismissed by much of the NFL and media, that's cool too. You can still feel like a champ and feel like underdogs, IMHO. It's not a binary thing. But believing you can beat any team is paramount.
  5. Pleasantly surprised to see this so soon. Six documented concussions is a lot. If he gets a ring with us, I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire.
  6. He's a huge Allen fan. He gets this ga-ga look in his eyes around his "Boy Blue" (is there a more creepy nickname in sports?) like he wants to date him. I like Simm's QB analysis a lot but hope he's wrong about Tre.
  7. I love how he knows he's miced up and still every third word he says is bleeped! He's awesome to listen to. To fans near the end: "Take your a** home, go to Christmas!" Gold. These are awesome and not just for the funny stuff but to see how players interact with teammates, opponents, fans, and refs on the field. I highly recommend folks here watch this and similar miced-up vids. Thanks!
  8. I don't doubt anyone who says this is a six-month injury (I have no clue). But if that's the case, why is Micah saying stuff like this that he has to know is getting fans curious at the least and hopeful at best?.... "...hopefully when those two weeks are up, we can make something happen.” Make what exactly happen? Why say something like this is there is zero chance he could play soon?
  9. Paywall article but I'll post some highlights https://buffalonews.com/sports/ryan-ohalloran-could-bills-safety-micah-hyde-return-in-postseason-after-neck-surgery/article_0be8e698-85ef-11ed-8586-0fb296488d85.html "You know, it’s not up to me, it’s up to the (doctors),” Hyde said. “Obviously I would love to (play), but it’s out of my control. We’ll take these next couple weeks, try to continue to get better every day and hopefully when those two weeks are up, we can make something happen.” Is Hyde more optimistic about a playoff return than, say, two weeks ago? "I’ll be more hopeful in two days than I am today,” he said. “As long as I keep progressing and keep rehabbing and have no setbacks, we’ll be good.” I'm not counting on it, but if we get a first-round bye and a win... who knows where he's at for the conference championship?
  10. Thanks so much for posting this. Really, really good and insightful read. I had no idea how tight Allen, Keenum and Barkley are. Or that Barkley and his wife cried tears of joy to be back with Buffalo and only make $358K on our practice squad as opposed to $1.2 million minimum as an active roster player somewhere else. To hear Keenum says this is the best QB room he's ever been a part of carries a lot of weight. Wonderful to hear. And about how Case and Matt are at peace with being backups to Josh. This is the kind of writing I wish Buffalo press would do. Instead, it's just a few quotes from post-game interviews spun into articles that show no extra insight for anyone who saw the post-game interview. I, as a regular fan, could do that. Kalyn Kahler, kudos. You dug deeper and got something fresh and interesting.
  11. The guy just had a 50-goal season (oldest to ever do it) and has 22 goals in just 36 games THIS year. So I respectfully but vociferously disagree. Growing up I loved Guy LaFleur — six straight 50-goal and 100-point seasons. Then he hit a wall at 30. Guys today are in such good shape they are extending their careers and playing at a high level well into their 30s. If Ovenchkin ends up with another 20 goals this year, he'll be 72 goals behind the record. with 2 more 36-goal years, he can match it; or 3 more 25-goal years. Considering he has 22 in 36 games I think those are achievable goals unless he gets a bad injury or falls off of a cliff. We'll see... EDIT: I see now you're debating the use of the word "jeopardy"; so I'll meet you in the middle and say it could be in jeopardy. If I had to bet $1000 I might take Ovi in that bet.
  12. Free agent WRs are getting paid insanely. I suspect the team drafts, and fairly highly, a WR. I hope he has elite speed to stretch the field and good hands; size is a bonus but not necessary with elite speed. Safeties might be an option in free agency if the the staff likes someone younger than Poyer they think has upside.
  13. As a version of your theory, perhaps Josh forces throws against lower-ranked competition thinking — wrongly, a lot — that they're not good enough to defend those passes. Perhaps he makes smarter decisions against elite competition. Rather than simply making better throws. But that requires a ton of work to determine and I'm not the man for the job.
  14. Way back I thought Watt could challenge Bruce's sack record. But it requires an elite guy staying healthy for about two decades. I once thought Bruce's record was untouchable but with Gretzky's goal record in jeopardy it goes to show there's not such thing as a "safe" record any more.
  15. Looks like they're our minor league farm team.
  16. What's happened to Herbert? 21 TDs going into the 15th game of the season. He's the polar opposite of Josh and Josh's hero ball. Is ti scheme?
  17. If he's concussed, that's really sad. I hate the Phins but don't wish brain damage on any player. Any chance — and yes this sounds crazy, I know — that the post-game concussion protocol is damage control for the fans upset with Tua? It's easier to swallow if you know (or think) we was playing wobbly? I've heard enough crazy theories these past couple years so there's mine.
  18. Yes. And imagine losing 4 straight with Hill and Waddle on your team. If that happens, the QB, any QB, must shoulder at least some of the blame.
  19. I'm sorry but as much as I'm trying to root for the Dolphins, I can't! It burns!!!
  20. Mercedes Lewis! Yes! At this point, he should be Model T Lewis but I'll take it! [p.s. can a mod tell me when my posting restrictions are lifted? I can't find any explanation on this site but I have a limit when I'm cut off for reactions and replies and can't seem to start posts either.]
  21. As much as I hate Hill (POS human) I hate the Chiefs more, so yes, this could be good...
  22. Damn. I literally can't remember that last time the Bills got over 70 yards of YAC like Waddle just did. We need some speed in the receiver room next year (and no, McKenzie doesn't count).
  23. I'm really, really digging Cook but Jacobs breaks tackles and gives a little more thunder to the run game. But yes, it's a total luxury and not necessarily wise.
  24. Merry Christmas, everyone! My kids have gone to their mom's home for the day, I've gone to the liquor cabinet, and after I say hello to the friendly ladies of XHamster, I'll be watching NFL football by myself on this holiest of days! Living the divorced-dad dream. [If you've got a good woman, or man, don't mess it up, btw.]
  25. I've thought about this knowing it was a dream. We are too thin with resources to spend it on a superstar back. I think. But my, Jacobs and Cook would be a deadly backfield. And yes, it would make our offense very, very tough to stop. If we drafted a big-bodied WR with top-end speed plus a couple good O-lineman and signed Jacobs I would not be upset. In fact, it would be a season-long blue pill for my football-loving soul...
