  1. The o-line, as mentioned, helps a lot. But I wonder if the bad Jets-game performance was a come to Jesus (insert your idol/god here: Yahweh, Muhammad, Cthulhu, etc. here) moment. He was riding high in the off season dating a Hollywood actor (sorry, I don't like the "actress" thing; do you say "poetess"?) and on the cover of Madden. And, apparently, he was caught on film saying he was the "best athlete in the world." His ego was sky high this summer. After a crap game of unintelligent hero ball someone — maybe McDermott but possibly Stef or someone else like his dad — could have sat down with him and said something like: "Look, you're a generational QB and when you play smart you can be a Hall of Fame QB — but when you play like you do today, you have bad stats and you lose to QBs like Zach Wilson. What do you want to do? Be a winner and let the stats take care of themselves, or lose a lot to the Zach Wilsons of the league?" Maybe I'm full of ***** but since that debacle he has since bought in 100% to playing "boring" ball and his stats, wins, and reputation have all skyrocketed.
  2. But there are a couple posters on this site who would point out this streak is conclusive evidence that the Bills are not winning close games lately.
  3. Pretty cool: The Bills have quietly won each of their last three games by at least 28 points, tied for the longest streak in the Super Bowl era. The only team in NFL history to win four consecutive games by at least 28 points was the 1942 Chicago Bears. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-stats-and-records-week-4-bills-josh-allen-re-establish-divisional-dominance-
  4. I seriously believe Buffalo as a city might have the most drunken population before noon this Sunday it's every had. And I hate the 9:30 am start. I play football every Sunday morning. And I feel booze guilt if I start before noon. So I rush home after my game and throw a couple back and hopefully catch a good 4th quarter and a win.
  5. Kudos to Knox. And to Alec Anderson, undressed O-lineman, cheering him on on the sidelines.
  6. Subtle jabs at the opposing teams' silly emoticon t-shirts after a touchdown should count as well.
  7. I knew Hill was a bad human being but I didn't realize he was also a bad teammate. Props to Tua; I hope Hill gets what he deserves sometime soon.
  8. Dude's wearing skates not cleats!
  9. This breakdown is fantastic (as always from Cover 1). If you want to see masterful scheming and execution against a "revolutionary" offense, watch this. So pleased with the gameplan, the LB play (Milano is a beast but Bernard continues to surpass expectations), great pressure and communication. Wow.
  10. Sorry, not sure why this happened. I checked the link and it works for me. It's from the BuffaloBills.com website: 'GMFB' reacts to Bills Week 4 win vs. Dolphins. "GMFB" reacts to the Buffalo Bills Week 4 win vs. the Miami Dolphins from the 2023 NFL regular season.
  11. Not sure if this is posted but the GMFB segment on the win is great — I didn't know about the "Hmmm" emoji 🤔 things and Josh and Steff mocking the Phins with the "Hmmm" expression. Goes to show that the players read the social media and see these things, despite what they say about not paying attention to the "noise." Gunner can ignore as he hates Brandt but most of us should enjoy this. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/gmfb-reacts-to-bills-week-4-win-vs-dolphins
  12. Maybe I'm missing the point but the title of the thread sounds like something someone would post after a big game by Poyer and not something that supports your real point of Poyer is now trying to play a more controlled game to preserve his health and be healthy for the playoffs If you titled the thread "Poyer trying to play a more controlled game to preserve his health" I think you'll get more traction.
  13. If any one wants to summarize what's going on there or quote some especially delicious Fins fans' messages I would love to drink deeply of their humiliation and despair. But I don't want to go to their site myself. Thanks! 🍻
  14. Taylor Rapp. I don't think I've seen it discussed in this thread how he played. Many were concerned about losing Poyer but I think the results speak volumes about the secondary in general, including Rapp. Anyone with a specific evaluation about how Rapp played? Seems like a very smart signing by Beane.
  15. A Chiefs loss would be too much to ask for today but they look eminently beatable. Mahomes is still great but we can beat them.
  16. Squishing fish is our business... and business is good.
  17. Not gonna lie; I was scared about the game. The big win today was the best Bills win I can remember (my memory is corroded by booze, but still). Of note, I was at my friend Dave's (street name: True Hustla, Bonafide Playa) and drinking copious amounts of 90-proof whiskey. Dave said this to Josh before the game: "No turnovers today. This ain't no bakery." How prescient he was. Josh's discipline was outstanding. I hope he is learning that playing smart can still lead to big stats and will lead to big wins and help cement his rep as an elite winning QB. We are a well-rounded team — loving the defense and strong run game — full of talent and confidence and can beat anyone.
  18. Stop paying attention to national talking heads. There are 32 teams each with an active roster of 53, that's 1,696 active players every week in the NFL. You think Michael Irvin or Cowherd knows each team's roster well? They only know the top-line narratives that they're fed by their staff, I believe. For my money, for the Bills, look to Cover 1 (best detailed Xs and Os breakdown) Greg Cosell (great overall breakdown of the entire team), Kurt Warner's breakdowns (great analysis of Josh), and JT O'Sullivan (sharp QB analysis as well).
  19. Offense: Stef is the easy answer. Kincaid is my 1B. Defense: We won't have time to disrupt Tua from the edge so Oliver must be the man.
  20. I heard on WGR this morning about 75% or 80% of the money was going on the Dolphins... People are hyped about the 70 points. I hope there's a lot of unhappy bettors Sunday evening.
  21. Indeed. That's why I wrote 20 to 25 many games. There are backs out there who do that, not a lot, but they're out there and they are "bell cows," to me. Cook is not a bell cow. He's a damn fine 15-carry back but if we're grinding it out in a snow game, or with a back-up QB because Josh is out, I don't hand it to Cook 22 times. Edit: Can Cook get 22 touches in one game? That's a possibility. I just don't expect him to get 22 rushes in a rush-heavy game. Maybe I'm wrong. Let's see...
  22. If the dude can hit 8 sacks this year, and he had 6.5 in 2022, I'll be happy. He's not going to be a star but he can be a solid player.
  23. You are likely correct. I didn't predict Miami would be overconfident but I'm hoping they are. I don't feel good about this game, personally, but if the BIlls and Josh play smart they can win it.
  24. I'm sure the psychology of this will be analyzed at length once we know the result. But I certainly hope that Miami is over confident and expecting an easy win.
  25. You are correct. But I feel like a "bell cow" can and does go over 20 carries a game reasonably often. And a bell cow is good for all yardages. I don't see Cook being that kind of back and I like our committee approach. But he is the "lead" back and will get most touches most games.
