Pretty remarkable. If Beane had a crystal ball before the start of the 2022 season, he'd save his money on Miller and get one of the top WRs to play along Diggs. But if I had a crystal ball I wouldn't be a divorced dad living in a ***** condo drinking low-budget bourbon at this point in my life.

At his best he reads the field well, is decisive, has a cannon for an arm and solid accuracy, and is an all-time great running threat. At his worst, he makes poor decisions and his accuracy leaves something to be desired, especially for WRs on the move. Best-case Josh Allen is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. I hope he does (and the teams does) whatever is needed for him to be consistently at his best. We don't need Josh to be better than the best Josh we've seen; we need him to be that Josh more often.

HH, thanks for the deep dive here. Can you give a rough idea of how many times a game you'd like to run the ball and perhaps numbers just for Cook? Do you believe he's too small to be a feature back? Many people here think with JA throwing you don't need to run a lot and it's a "waste" of snaps. Do you agree? Thanks.

Cover 1 breakdown of the Joe Brady Offense
Nephilim17 replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great breakdown. Love the Cover 1 vids. Good to see Brady adjusting and catching the Jets D off guard. And the use of backs in the pass game (been hearing forever how good of a pass catcher Cook is and we may be beginning to witness that), and the use of the middle of the field. I see so many teams exploit the middle and the BIlls weren't doing it for some inexplicable reason. Now they are. It's only one game, yes, but what a game. -
Oliver's consistently great play and the emergence of Bernard significantly reframe the past drafts. And if Kincaid continues his trajectory and Torrence remains solid, the latest draft will be a success. I was thinking Beane had been average (Elam looms large) but with the what I said above, he can jump to good/very good if Oliver, Kincaid, Torrence and Cook continue their ascent (or consistently dominance for Oliver). it's ok to be wrong; Beane might be a better drafter than most people here thought. Let's see where we end the season with play.

The Bills need better enemy posters.

Sorry, if it's been said but I just read in a Sal article that Davis wasn't targeted once yesterday. Good. We performed extremely well without him against a good D and other players are emerging. I hope this trend continues.

Dalton Kincaid: Beane's best pick since Allen?
Nephilim17 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love Kincaid and think he's very close to a lock for becoming a top-5 TE, and could be better than that. but... the way Oliver's been playing this year — and it took him a while to play this great this consistently — he could challenge for the title of Beane's best pick besides Allen. -
James Cook #2 in Rushing after Tonight's game
Nephilim17 replied to Silvercrw's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can we trade Cook plus a 3rd for Singletary or Moss? I've heard on this board those guys are so good. -
Great all-round game. Defense made big plays, offense was efficient but had some chunk plays and YAC that we rarely see. It looked a lot easier to move the ball today. Hopefully, that continues. What a signing Douglas was; I know giving up a third was rich (we get a 5th back) but he's a playmaker. Ed is making everyone eat crow, and Floyd has 9.5 sacks and is sure to get a few more before the season's end. I'd like to see a similar performance against a good team but this is a good D and we moved the ball. Cautiously optimistic. If we can hang with the Eagles and Chiefs and beat one of them, my hope for the season will survive. If they both blow us out, I'll know this was a mirage and the Bills really need a reset.

Will a win over the Jets to get to 6-5 bring everyone back in?!?!
Nephilim17 replied to DBilz2500's topic in The Stadium Wall
I previously said NO but... -
Holy crap, YAC and a lot of it! I almost forget the Bills were allowed to run after catch!
-
Yeah, I remember. That rule stinks, IMO.
-
So offside by D doesn't restore time on clock? That's a good D strategy then to kill the clock.
-
Easy peasy TD. The offense has been far from perfect but getting 16 points against a very good D in one half is a lot better than we've seen in recent weeks. Flukey or is Brady onto something? 🤔
-
A lot of people here declared Kincaid can't block. That screen play says otherwise.
-
Great play by Douglas. But I want to see 7 off of this, not a FG.

What’s your opinion of Gabe Davis on this play?
Nephilim17 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Didn't notice a problem as first but, yeah, some WRs will get a lot more YAC or even go the distance. Not the worst example, however, of why Davis is not acceptable as WR2. -
To me the question is: he may or may not be accountable to the team and ownership, but is he accountable to the fans (I think not) and is he obligated to be accountable to the fans? Do we fans deserve more accountability for 13 seconds and games like the Broncos game? Or do we just pay our money/watch our screens and take what they give us and that's it? I'm not being facetious. I'm actually not sure but I think I can construct arguments both ways.

I'll tell you what I'm hoping for: glimmers that Josh and key offensive players still have greatness within them, but I'll be more than happy with a losing record this year to ensure a coaching reset next year. Fixing the OC position is not enough and a band-aid fix.
-
When evaluating McDermott, and other coaches, I don't think it's a binary question of is this coach good or bad, a winner or a loser. Just like with players, there are some better-than-average or good coaches who will never be great, or championship calibre. But, whereas, with one player he is always surrounded by 10 others, and you can't have 11 great or championship-calibre players on the field at once, a head coach's impact is far greater and less dependent on the impact of his staff than one player is. That's where I put McDermott, a good but not great coach. He got the team upright after the drought, but he can't help the Bills challenge for a championship on a consistent basis.

I've said it before and will say it again: I want the Bills to either do really well or to flame out this year. I don't want us to go 4 and 3 the rest of the way and have a "winning" record that retains McDermott. You've heard of being in quarterback limbo, that would put us in coach limbo. We need to blow it up and restart with new leadership.
