  1. Interesting how some top-end NFL wide receivers appreciated their position coach so much they bought him a high-end truck — but that was not only frowned about by the head coach but that position coach leaves Super Bowl-contending team. Combine that with the rumors that McD and Daboll don't get along and the smoke is getting heavier and heavier. But maybe it's Chad Hall and Brian Daboll and Leslie Frazier that were the problem and our head coach has great communication and interpersonal skills with everyone.
  2. Maybe Von bought 100 subscriptions to Dunne's article! "Yeah, yeah, that's the story you guys all need to focus on, that's the one!"
  3. I'm thinking this is a more pressing issue: It's Josh Allen's 6th season — and our chance to win a championship is on the line I'll take short term pain (losing to the Chiefs; and, God, do I hate them) for long-term gain: Josh having a great and offensively minded head coach for the second half of his prime years.
  4. Fair enough. I disagree with your take that it's a "big fat nothing burger" — millions of New Yorkers and thousands of emergency workers would dispute that, — but I now see that you question his coaching ability, as you and we all should. Sorry if my quote didn't reflect the entire substance of your message. But I don't like McDermott and this has me a little more hopeful he will be fired so I'm a little trigger happy.
  5. What ability to bring us a championship? McDermott has had multiple years with a generational quarterback and has yet to win a conference championship.
  6. Oh, I agree. He knows the org knows but now that it's out and there will be a lot of hell to pay for it, now he's scared. He thought he got away with it, forgot about it, and now it's out in public and he's really scared. You can see it in his face and in his changing story: "I lost a good friend during 9/11.... I lost multiple friends."
  7. McDermott looked gutted at the presser and certainly did not act like it was old news and already "processed" by the man who pays his bills.
  8. Or... Never give up! Ted Bundy was captured, sent to prison and escaped! Disguise your intentions, men! Just like Bundy wore a cast and pretended to have a broken arm when he asked young women to help him load his truck before locking them in there!
  9. F*** Xmas gift. It would be an awesome National Brownie Day gift. (December 8 for those who don't want to Google it.)
  10. I now have a fair bit of hope the major reason the Bills have not won more than a divisional playoff game during the first half of Josh Allen's prime will be excised and replaced.
  11. Ok, I guess every manager reading this thread knows what not to say in his or her next team meeting.
  12. Very interesting take that I never thought of. You're probably right: if Pegula wants him gone, it has to be before the KC game.
  13. Guys, just look at this. It's freaking surreal. I know we're discussing it but seeing it as a headline blows my mind...
  14. Von is probably a very happy man right now.
  15. In the video he first says he "lost a good family friend" but then in the end he says it was "multiple family friends." Kind of an odd thing to revise. If you lost mulitple friends, you'd say that from the get-go, am I wrong?
  16. This will be a simple but very revealing indication of the current team's feelings for their coach. I too will be fascinated to see what is said and with what kind of emotion.
  17. "He’s a coaching relic routinely paralyzed by fear late in games. He never imagines what could go right with 20 seconds left in regulation, instead forever horrified of what could go wrong. Oblivious to the reality that he employs one of the sport’s most talented quarterbacks. The word you’ll hear constantly from those who’ve been around McDermott is “tight.” He’s so incomprehensibly tight, they say, players cannot help but stiffen up themselves. As if the head coach uses the 2-minute warning to administer mass lobotomies on his team." This, to me a simple fan, resonates with what I see in games and my gut instinct. "One assistant coach remembers McDermott saying in the locker room that the offense scored too fast and left the Chiefs too much time." Also, a head coach telling his team they lost because the offense scored too fast is a head coach who doesn't take accountability. If 25 insiders (even if "cherry picked" because they share a bias), have a similar view, that's a lot of smoke. I believe there's a fire.
  18. I've thought something similar... Will Knox take snaps away from Kincaid who's a more reliable weapon, just because he's a number one guy according to his bloated salary? I hope McChoke applies the same standard of you earn your playing time to the TE group, just like he did with the CBs. We shall see.
  19. Gunner, if our head coach is a defensive specialist and is a "bad defensive coordinator" to quote you, and he's not helping the offense or special teams excel, at least as far as I can see, exactly what does he bring to the team that warrants him keeping his job? Overall defensive philosophy? Energy? Culture? Any other abstract concept? I don't get how and why a defensive-minded coach who isn't doing a good to great job with the defense — and a lousy job holding onto leads late in the game — should hold onto his job.
  20. Nice guy but I hope he gets engaged with the Bills offense when he comes back.
  21. I did too. He had this really chill and zen vibe to him. Seems like a total facade or he's zen with football and a lunatic with personal relationships. Now, this could be a false accusation but with a history of making social posts like what's quoted, there seems to be a lot of smoke now and a fire looks more and more likely.
  22. Not sure if posted but I did a quick "search" (I'm not wading through 60 pages of this) and the SI article on the matter is clear, short, and persuasive. I hope Pegula feels similarly. Of note: The chilling part of this allegation is that it echoes a previous one. In 2021, Miller’s girlfriend posted on Instagram that when she was pregnant with Miller’s child, Miller texted that he was “honestly praying for a miscarriage” and “[F---ing] disappear!!!” and “I hate you!” and “you gon’ get yours! Believe that.” ...At some point, an NFL player loses the benefit of the doubt with his team and the league. Miller should be there now. https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/11/30/von-miller-domestic-violence-personal-conduct-policy
  23. This Chiefs defeat could be the emotional highlight of my weekend.
