  1. When Damar was getting chest compressions I was on the phone with my brother. The broadcast had cut to commercial and when they came back they showed a ***** of Josh’s face. Just from seeing Josh’s natural human reaction to what he was seeing I said to my brother “I think he is dead”. If Stroud lost the respect of his teammates then Josh probably should’ve too. Of course Damar was dying and Dell wasn’t, but Stroud and Dell are best friends and that injury was disturbing to see. Add that Stroud knew he’d never get to play ball with his friend again because that friend’s career if possibly (likely?) over and he would have to be an automaton to not have some sort of visible reaction.
  2. I don’t agree with this take. I’ve never seen Josh HAVE to do less than he has this year. Before this season, I’ve always been envious of other QBs who have “easy” plays. This year Josh has had them too. Hecan still make the amazing plays, but for the most part he hasn’t needed to. The last two games Josh has been amazing. But our offense had six games in a row prior to them where we had put up 30 points. In none of those games did he HAVE to be Superman-he passed for 300 yards in one of those games (the Titans).
  3. The only fact you keep bringing up is that Reed is in the HOF. Using this logic do you also think Lamar is better than Josh because he has been voted MVP twice? Or do you use your own eyes to form your own opinion about who the better player is? Reed was awesome and deserves the HOF. I watched both he and Moulds and think Moulds was the better of the two and would have been the best receiver in the league with better QBs throwing him the ball.
  4. Or it could just be what Allen himself said...entirely precautionary which is why they felt comfortable running Allen at the end of the game. We only have to look back to the beginning of the year when Allen had an injured non-throwing hand to know that the coaching staff DOES take his health into consideration when calling plays.
  5. You don’t think our injuries in a game we lost by a missed field goal had ANYTHING to do with the Chiefs beating us? A healthy Milano, Bernard, Benford, Von, etc wouldn’t have made any difference in that game? Basing what will happen this year on what happened with last year’s decimated defense last year seems silly to me. The Chiefs are good and could beat us. But I think this Chiefs team beating this Bills team (especially in Buffalo) would be an upset.
  6. Really? You can’t even think of ONE reason why we could beat the Chiefs in the playoffs? Not one…like having beaten them 4 times in the past four years-including this one? it sounds like you really haven’t given this matter much actual thought.
  7. Whaley was the GM when we hired McDermott. Oversaw the draft that got us Tre, Dion, and Milano as well. But I still prefer Beane, LOL
  8. I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not. Without venture capital there is no Apple, Amazon, internet, etc. The best idea in the world is absolutely worthless without the capital necessary to turn the idea into reality.
  9. I’m the biggest Bills homer of all time. Last week, playing a base nickel with the same personnel (minus Benford), we shut the run down completely. The defense wasn’t good yesterday and getting gashed like we did wasn’t part of the strategy. This doesn’t mean we stink and can’t beat a good team. It just means they had a bad defensive game but won anyway.
  10. If Bass missed, the kick, he probably wanted to have the time out so he could run a quick play and try a field goal of his own.
  11. this take is so odd. Are you implying he isn’t really injured? If so, why did he play so much in his first game? Why did he practice after practice so much that Josh mentioned the work he did with an assistant WR coach in his postgame presser?
  12. You are like that little turd from A League of Their Own. “You’re gonna lose, you’re gonna lose. You stiiiiink” I have never seen you say ANYTHING positive. Ever. After our next touchdown, your comment will be a complaint that we didn’t run that play sooner. its just so unbelievably boring.
  13. I love this thread. I’ve been on the Benford bandwagon for a year or so and he has never let me down. Great pick and even better player!
  14. What did you see to base this comment on? With Spector playing, the D gave up three points over the rest of the game, so he can’t have been that bad.
  15. You treat it as though it is axiomatic that his statement is ignorant. Can you quantify the extent to which it is ignorant? A Catholic man (I’m not Catholic), speaking to an audience of Catholics and speculating that many of them are looking forward to being wives and mothers more than career women. Since his statement is “quantifiably ignorant” quantify it for us. What percentage of the women in the audience disagree with his statement? Since Butker’s statement was qualified in that he clearly stater he was only talking about a subset of his audience, what is the precise degree of difference between the beliefs of his target audience and their beliefs at which Butker’s statement becomes false? Actually, I don’t think that’s necessary. You obviously disagree with Butker’s point-or a straw man you’ve made out of his actual point-and rather than say why he is incorrect you do what you did. i agree with a lot of your Bills takes, but this one is weak and disrespectful.
  16. I’m liking Keon so far, but it’s not obvious we preferred him. We could have made the same trade with the Chiefs and they could have taken Keon instead of Worthy and we’d have been left with someone else. if Keon turns out to be better than Worthy it might just be that we got lucky.
  17. Thurman was MVP of the league in 91
  18. You’re right that there are other factors to consider, but when a team gives up 85 sacks you can draw a conclusion about the quality of the O-Line’s play.
  19. You are the one who seems hung up on how much money other people have...not me. I judge things by whether the facts as I see them and not based on whether or not someone’s demographic category. You seem to have rejected the idea of blind justice (at least in this instance) which, unfortunately, a lot of other people seem to have done. I accused you of either not know what the word extortion means or (worse) knowing what it means and using it anyway to describe a situation that you know isn't extortion. Instead of defending your reasoning you chose to attack my motives...which is remarkable being that you don't know anything about me or my life.
  20. Extortion? That is a word that has a specific meaning and involves the threat of the use of force. That has never happened. At worst, owners have threatened to move the teams they own to a place where they think they can make more money. That isn’t extortion. i get it. You don’t like the wealthy for whatever reason. That doesn’t excuse you of throwing around accusations without any evidence or redefining words so you can accuse those bad people you don’t like of something sinister sounding.
  21. Deserve is an interesting word. Who “deserves” what and who decides? in the vast majority of cases, in a free country, people earn based on the value other people think they provide-not based on some abstract idea like what is “deserved”. Jeff Bezos gets money from me because I like the convenience his company offers me. Terry Pegula gets money from me because I love the team he owns. Etc, etc. Nobody is tricking me or forcing me to make those choices and I do have alternatives. And so doors everyone here. When I was younger, the company I worked for thought my labor was worth $4 per hour. Now my employer thinks the value I bring to the table is worth more than that. What I think I (or anyone other than my employer or I) think I “deserve” is irrelevant.
  22. Can you be more specific? What laws has Terry Pegula routinely broken, or Jerry Jones, or the Mara family, etc. Let’s not hide behind vague accusations of law breaking. Tell us who broke what laws, and I’ll agree with you that they should punished.
  23. This sort of attitude is so annoying. What does the owner’s wealth have to do with whether or not this decision is right? if a law was broken then they should suffer a penalty. If no wrong was done, then they shouldn’t. Your stated desire to see someone punished because they are wealthier than you is ugly. Envy is just as deadly a sin as greed.
  24. This just isn’t true. 2017-white, dawkins, jones, Milano all started (so did Peterman for about 30 minutes) 2018-Josh, Edmunds, Phillips, Johnson all started 2019-Oliver, Singletary, Ford, and Knox all started 2020-no starters 2021-Spencer brown started and I think Rousseau started some games as well 2022-Benford started 2023-Kincaid, Torrance started As our team has gotten better, it has gotten harder for rookies to earn a starting role. Why ascribe the decision to not start rookies to arrogance? Or, for that matter, which rookies should have started besides the ones I listed?
  25. We have the second most wins in the NFL over the past 4 years. How do we keep doing that with such terrible players picked by such an awful GM and coached by such a incompetent head coach? I’ve been reading this forum for 20 years and never post, but I felt compelled to ask.
