  1. yes, keep them dumb. But you're right. The employment market is now very open to those without college. Interesting experiment. We'll see...
  2. This is beautiful prose. But total bs. I don’t give a fig what other minority sexual preferences do. I know mine and they don’t bother me. Well, the few attractive females that r gay and don’t take well to being hit on r disappointing. Too old I say…Tango, Levi. Tango is the answer! Pelvis to pelvis. No butts. It's a beautiful dance and is just the preamble...If u prefer more Aryan, waltz, especially Viennese waltz..difficult but gorgeous.
  3. lyrics prompted a listen. Love the video as well
  4. Hey Vern, Have you seen Levi's hamster? He's missing it again.
  5. Here come bad news talking this and that (Yeah) Well give me all you got, don't hold back (Yeah) Well I should probably warn you I'll be just fine (Yeah) No offense to you don't waste your time Here's why … Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof (Because I'm happy) Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth (Because I'm happy) Clap along if you know what happiness is to you (Because I'm happy) Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
  6. it wasn't the best weekend. Bills lost to Jax in an awful game. Got beat in golf by my friend. lots of alligators on the course. No goose steppers but lots of angry, aggressive and seemingly unhappy people. The Stepford wives housing communities are just bizarre. Not planning a trip back. The farmers market in St Augustine is cool tho. Very different vibe.
  7. Have you ever driven on Florida highways? Been passed by some redneck in a Charger doing 110? Respect for the law and others? Nope, it’s all “get out of my way, my “freedom “ trumps your right to exist.” A couple years ago we were in St Augustine visiting friends. 2 late middle age couples trying to cross hwy 1 to go to breakfast. No one would stop despite the fact we were on a crosswalk. My friend and I stopped an Escalade to get us across and almost got in a fight with the MAGA behind the wheel. They have since moved back to Virginia where manners, gentility and pleasantries still mean a great deal.
  8. Yes, does he still perform? There was also Susie, Susie sit-in in a shoe shine shop...tailor shop. Saw him once. Still remember.
  9. there was a local bar act I saw in Grand Island years ago with all kinds of alternate lyrics. Unfortunately, the only one I can remember is "there's a skeeter on your peter, wh@ck it off, wh@ck it off...there's a dozen on my cousin, I can hear the f'ers buzzin, there's a skeeter on your peter, wh@ck it off
  10. it's way past too much...we're trying to stop anymore
  11. FREEDOM!!! patriot Yes, millions of people never died from a highly transmissible virus....
  12. If you were falling, then I would catch you. You need a light, I'd find a match. Cause I love the way you say good morning. And you take me the way I am. If you are chilly, here take my sweater. Your head is aching, I'll make it better. Cause I love the way you call me baby. And you take me the way I am. I'd buy you Rogaine when you start losing all your hair. Sew on patches to all you tear. Cause I love you more than I could ever promise. And you take me the way I am. You take me the way I am. You take me the way I am. source: https://www.lyricsondemand.com/onehitwonders/thewayiamlyrics.html
  13. It likely won't surprise those who argued that income equals education either but they'll pretend it did...
  14. try to differentiate between citing someone as an expert and expressing admiration...
  15. and yet I'll bet u supported trump's tax cuts for the extremely wealthy.
  16. please hypothesize on her self serving motivation to supposedly do this. cuz I'm empty here.... yes, like hedge fund managers and institutional investors....
  17. so "us" is not a special interest? are "them'?
  18. u were hoping for a default then?
  19. yes, pandering happens everywhere. And I don't like it anywhere. But what Erdogan has done has the potential to completely destroy his country economic foundation. He's enacting a fundamentally undermining policy that he must know is going to hurt in the long term.... The attack on truth...there are still a few R's that recognize the concept. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/28/liz-cheney-republicans-colorado-commencement-speech-00099132
  20. Don’t think it matters. Trump is as far from a model Christian as one can get and yet the fools believe he’s a gift from God. It’s not about ideology. It’s about tribalism.
  21. https://thehill.com/homenews/ap/ap-international/ap-turkeys-erdogan-wins-another-term-as-president-extends-rule-into-3rd-decade/ proving once again that many voters have no clue how economics work. Erdogan decreased interest rates to make credit affordable short term in the midst of crazy inflation - the opposite of what every other nation has done in similar circumstances. What would have happened had the fed done this on the edge of a recession with high inflation? Many voters here would also be happy but for a very short time period. bread and circuses still work.
  22. This was a stupid, dangerous political game but in the end a reasonable compromise was found. Gives me some hope for a more functional government.
  23. hmmm....was there any racial unrest during those 60 years? old LBJ was almost prophetic. When was the last time a US president dined with 2 admitted nazis? George Wallace might have but he was never elected president...
