No, it's not. Look for motivation. What was his? A highly respected, financially secure 80 yo doc living in NYC with a beautiful family wants to pull the wool over your eyes? You need to better understand human behavior.. The man is a medical icon.

There was a pandemic. Millions of people died. It was a new virus. Every recommendation was a work in progress. There was little decent data. They called on the best in the world to help. And this guy took slings and arrows to advocate to save lives. If people had listened, Millions of lives would be saved. The guy's 80 or so, has plenty of money. Could sit back and enjoy the benefits of his success. But you vilify him because.. btw, the seminal text in infectious disease is co-edited by Fauci. He knows what he's talking about.

There is no question that the standard of living is much higher now for the avg American than in the 70's. We had house guests this week with very similar upbringings and circumstances back then. Everyone agreed and gave examples.
