You could argue that retirement is the best decision for all parties involved. The Bills need the cap space and even though Morse is good, he's probably not worth his contract. Morse's own health is top priority and an 8th (documented) concussion seems like a long-term quality of life issue. Even the NFL is probably concerned about his (and everyone's) concussion history.

The Bills defensive gameplan was terrible against Cincy and the Bengals could have put up a lot more than 27 points if they didn't take their foot off the gas but the Bills' offensive performance was equally as bad in that game including terrible offensive line play, bad playcalling, bad decisions by Josh, and a general lack of high-end offensive talent. So I agree KC was prepared better and had better coaching but they also had better players who played better too

My expectation is honestly still to win the Super Bowl. That should be what the front office and coaching staff are building towards and that should be the players' goal.

If you asked me to rank the 3 AFC teams, I would put the Bills at 3rd but they're still close enough in my mind that the Bills can jump them. Honestly, the one seed is incredibly important but it will be a real challenge to get that next season. My rankings: QB: 1) Chiefs 2) Bills 3) Bengals - Obviously you can go any order here but Mahomes has the Super Bowl and Burrow has postseason wins but he hasn't done a ton WR/TE/RB: 1) Bengals 2) Chiefs 3) Bills - Chase/Higgins are incredible. Boyd is probably better than Gabe. For now, the Chiefs get the nod at #2 but Kelce is getting up there in age OL: 1) Chiefs 2) Bengals 3) Bills - The Chiefs and Bengals rebuilt their lines after being exposed in the big games. Will the Bills do it too? DL: 1) Chiefs 2) Bengals 3) Bills - This one is interesting though because none of the 3 are particularly impressive but Chris Jones carries the Chiefs here. The Bills would be 2 with a guaranteed healthy Von Miller LB/Secondary: 1) Chiefs 2) Bills 3) Bengals - Grouping these together because teams run different systems. The Chiefs have drafted really well here and are the best across the board even though I think the Bills have the best individual player Coaching: 1) Chiefs 2) Bengals 3) Bills - Andy Reid is probably going to be #1 in a lot of lists if you rank coaching. Bienemy may be a product of Mahomes but at least he plays to Mahomes' strengths. The Bengals get the nod at #2 due to their superior coordinators and that they've reached a Super Bowl

My biggest fear is that Beane and McD see this game and their takeaway is that we need to draft defensive linemen. Which is actually probably true but let someone else pick which ones to draft and not until you fix the line and WRs

The Bengals playcalling has been impressive. Burrow really takes what the defense gives him

The Bills don't have the horses on the defensive line despite the draft capital invested. They don't have the scheme in the secondary. And they probably have the stubbornness to keep things the same

Lots of recent champions in multiple sports have made comments about how the thing that got them over the top was bringing in some "f.uc.k you" guys who held others accountable even if being their teammate kind of sucks. We need those guys

I don't usually like being the team that gets a player 20+ spots later in the draft than the experts are projecting. There is usually a reason why all those teams continued to pass over that guy. Draft experts could be overrating him, there could be smoke around him that teams were feeding to the experts, etc. Honestly I'd rather reach for guys and be aggressive and/or trade up instead of coming out of a draft thinking we got a value based on projections

I'm not convinced Hackett is very good and Rodgers is on his last legs so I don't necessary have big concerns over them reuniting with the Jets but I do think Russell Wilson was the bigger problem in Denver than Hackett even though they are/were both bad

I'm still a Gabe believer but even then I think there is a big need at WR. And Allen does need to take the underneath throw more but it still doesn't change the need at WR.

Trade for a WR. I doubt you're getting an elite guy but you can get a solid #2 which is all that is needed IMO - I like the idea of Jerry Jeudy. Good route runner who can make things happen after the catch. Broncos need draft capital. Maybe a 2nd rounder + a crapshoot pick can do it. A new coach may want to keep Jeudy in Denver though - The Steelers seem unwilling to pay big money to WR's with their ability to draft them. Diontae Johnson is very high on my list too. He can be frustrating but you aren't getting a perfect guy unless you're paying big money and big draft capital - A guy like Hopkins is of course very appealing but it's a big contract. Might not take much capital to trade for him though - Some rumblings that Keenan Allen could be a cap causality in LA. He would probably get a bigger deal elsewhere but maybe he chases a Super Bowl at this point. Immediately #1 for me if that happened. I'd give consideration to Jakobi Meyers in free agency but I probably spend FA dollars elsewhere and really try to get a WR from a trade. A 2nd rounder + meaningless picks at the most Trade Oliver - Definitely will not give him away for free but the guy just hasn't consistently gotten the job done. I know these are pretty rare but I consider a "football trade" where you trade Oliver to a team who needs D-line help but has an abundance of offensive lineman. I am fine with keeping him though Cut any depth players that are even semi costly. I also give consideration into cutting Morse or having a retirement conversation with him but give him a job in the front office or coaching staff Sign RB - Jamaal Williams, Kareem Hunt, even Singletary. Hope the market is really reduced and get a guy on a 3 year 12M deal with nothing guaranteed after year 2. I like Cook but he isn't going to be a 250 touches/year guy Poyer - Man I don't know. The guy is a player and means a lot to the team. Bring him back on a team friendly deal that is well under market rate. Anything higher and I just don't bring him back Edmunds - I personally bring him back for anything under $14M a year. Not sure you'll get that though. Ideally you can spread his cap hit over a long term deal. If you don't bring him back, you just need a guy who can make tackles. Doesn't have to be some athletic freak or total stud. An average guy at this position is fine. Draft - - 1st round - I actually like some of the safeties available there at the end of the 1st. I go there or an interior offensive linemen but I am absolutely willing to trade up 10+ spots for a difference maker at WR or even on the offensive line. If I did get a WR listed above, I am also willing to trade back here for a high 2nd rounder plus a 3rd to replace draft capital - 2nd round - Ideally I traded this for a WR above. If not, offensive line or WR. - 3rd - Offensive line - 4th - defensive line depth if you trade Oliver - 5th-7th - CB depth, TE, O-Line

That offseason would keep us afloat and maybe you get a few lucky breaks with health and good matchups in the playoffs. But you're going to have to be uncomfortably aggressive in some capacity if you want to take that next step. I think our draft pick is the key to the offseason. I would actually be willing to trade up 10+ spots in the draft to try to secure a true offensive difference maker. If you aren't willing to do that, then I have our draft pick squarely on the trade block to bring in a proven difference maker. I almost feel like making a pick in our current 1st round draft slot is recipe for the least impactful offseason.

The Bengals will lock up Burrow and Chase along with some good young players on defense already locked up. They will run into cap issues and have some key casualties but their biggest thing right now is holding on to Anarumo for as long as possible.

I see the opposite. This team is built to win in the regular season. I see the 1 seed with the divisional round loss being the much more likely scenario
