Trade deadline needs what are your priorities
stlbills13 replied to Xwnyer's topic in The Stadium Wall
My priorities are to just go all in. The Chiefs look especially vulnerable this year. The Bengals got off to a slow start. The Ravens look good but still not positive Lamar can carry a team in the playoffs. The Jags actually look like a real threat but they still need to prove themselves. The Dolphins are good but will Tua hold up? Does the team hold up outside of Miami in January? The AFC is wide open. Take advantage and push it all in. The window is open as long as Josh Allen is the quarterback but just be willing to take some risks and improve the personnel -

The red-zone defense is going to be critical. Burrow is fine with dinking and dunking all the way down the field. But if you hold them to 3 once they get inside the 10-20, you are going to give your offense a chance to win. -

I think the extra 3 days off are going to make a big difference here. More rest/recovery, more gameplan time, etc -

The Bengals match up well against the Bills. Burrow is fine with a 15 play 75 yard drive for a touchdown. He won't force that hero pass. Mixon is a violent runner (person) who can hurt our poor tackling. It's a prime time road game. But the game is more than winnable if the right Bills show up all week. We have the mini bye. We needed it to get healthier and game plan. McD needs to get creative defensively even with a depleted defense. Throw a lot of looks at burrow Von needs to get to burrow. His speed can disrupt that timing. It might not be fair to him to expect that but he has to do it Floyd AJ GR also have to pressure Burrow. If you can pressure for 4 (or even 3) you will get it done The safeties have to be all over the place Let's see hero Josh. You don't win this one playing conservative offensively -
He isn't good and he doesn't play. What's the problem?

What's disappointing is how in all of these games (Jags, Giants, Patriots, Bucs) we haven't been able to get the one sack on the QB that would have ended the game. Strategy has been lacking but just actually get home to the QB and end the game

Big takeaway for me is that Mike Evans wants to be a Buffalo Bill

Bills now Vegas betting favorites to land Derrick Henry
stlbills13 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe this ends up being a situation where the Titans overplay their hand and have to sell very low 2024 6th and 2025 6th for Henry and Hopkins and I'll be happy. -
I don't think the planned to actually run a play. Tried to draw them Offside. And they did. Refs missed it

Murray looks terrible tonight
-
Yeah he's hurt. Glad we have 10 days off here after this
-
Either take the timeout with 35 secs when the play ended or don't take at all. Stupid
-
Unfortunate that an injured arm may be what forces josh to run more
-
Taron inside the 5 yard line is an auto touchdown or penalty
-
Hes afraid to take a hit
-
Better go for it here

Devils advocate...what is Josh is the problem?
stlbills13 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
If josh decided to check plays at the line, take off when plays break down, take more deep shots, etc, what would happen? It's not like the staff is going to turn to Kyle Allen. He needs to take over on the field and off -
I genuinely don't believe the coaching staff is putting Allen in the best position to use his strengths. He needs to run and be a playmaker. I think they took away the playmaker. He's still a great player but he isn't the elite player that needs to carry this team That being said, he looks unprepared and just unattached as many have said. Whether that is coaching or his own decision is something we'll never know. But he just doesn't seem to have the same focus and energy as he has before.

Trade deadline needs what are your priorities
stlbills13 replied to Xwnyer's topic in The Stadium Wall
This team has more holes than it can reasonably fill in one trade deadline or even one offseason. So I go and fill the hole that can bring them closest to the Super Bowl. And that is a WR2 in my opinion. The Chiefs, Ravens, Bengals (if they start winning), and even the Jags are going to put up points in January no matter how good your defense is. In today's football you just have to outscore them and pressure their QB. Assuming Miller can even be average, you have a solid pass rush with him, Floyd, Groot and you just need to fill the big hole on offense across from Diggs. - Dream addition who could be available is probably Mike Evans. Veteran with a ring. Good size, willing blocker. Plays with a fiery personality. Actually think he is what Gabe Davis tries to be so maybe it makes Davis a little redundant as a #3 but oh well. Last year of his deal on a team that isn't quite a contender and probably won't want to pay him big money. Probably more expensive from an asset standpoint but it's not like you'll hand out a 1st or 2nd rounder for a soon to be 30 year old free agent - Dream addition who isn't available but I'd call until they block my number and my backup number is Keenan Allen. Actually think he is everything this team needs and more. And he'd appreciate the ability to go after a ring. - I still like Jeudy's upside and route running. Style of play is a little more like Diggs but maybe he shines when he doesn't have to be the guy. Actually think he is going to be very affordable. But not sure he is actually that good. Maybe an upgrade but does he move the needle? - Might as well jump back into the Hopkins sweepstakes for the 4th time. He's on the decline but he'll get open and I've read before that he is one of the best WR's in the league and adjusting his route when the pocket breaks down and the QB is scrambling. Sounds like the Bills. - Outside of that, I don't think anyone significant is available or attainable for this team. -
Did Dorien Williams get benched yesterday?
stlbills13 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't think Williams was very good yesterday. But he wasn't bad enough that you turn to Dodson. I really only turn to Dodson if the only other option is my 5'9, 160 lb self -
The coaching staff is trying to protect him. They'd rather he be a good to very good nfl quarterback for 15 years instead of an elite NFL quarterback for 10 years. With the injuries to the defense and the lack of a good #2 receiver, they need to let Josh carry this team. Josh being "very good" won't result in anything this season. Josh being "elite" may not result in anything either but at least you have a chance. Let him loose
