  1. You called? FWIW, assuming he's still masochistic enough to hang out here, Ask Tim:III will go live when training camp starts and we actually have something besides T.O.'s show to talk about.
  2. Hold off on the second one. A little breezy over there again today ... ... aand Watson misses an eight-footer for par to drop two shots behind Ross Fisher, who's started out birdie-birdie. Watson birdied No. 1 on Thursday and Friday. Not sure I like that omen.
  3. Short update: the Graham family made it to Ohio without major incident. Still looking for a place in Buffalo, but at least the commute's a few hundred miles shorter now. He'll be in Pittsford watching the Bills next weekend (at which point he'll probably start hanging out online again, but that's just my guess), then hit a couple of other teams' camps before heading to Canton.
  4. Not sure it matters. For some reason (the five Open championships he already owns, perhaps?), I don't see him coming down with a case of nerves. Chatting with a friend who used to write golf before going to the dark side (P.R. flack), and he says this: "Tom Watson isn't just a nice guy. He's one of the classiest professional athletes on the planet." All the more reason to root for this story tomorrow. Already gave the Dahlberg (AP) link. 6. Bigger than Nicklaus winning the '86 Masters, and they're still talking about that 23 years later. Nicklaus was 46, a mere pup compared to Watson.
  7. Christmas Eve, 2006, against the Titans. Redskins-Rams was also blacked out that day. Atlanta (2), Jacksonville (3), Oakland (4), St. Louis (5), and Detroit (5) have all had games blacked out since then.
  8. And your leader after 54 holes is ... Tom Watson. How freaking cool is this? From Friday: http://www.kansascity.com/180/story/1331751.html
  9. I want the last 90 seconds of my life back, please. I could find that guy a copy editor ... but I can't do anything about getting him a brain.
  10. Who would've thunk that the TW not named Tiger would be the one in contention, and the other guy would be packing his bags and heading home early?
  11. Well, originally, it was an ESPN gig because they were the only ones broadcasting it. Think Pergament's story mentions that it's actually the Hall's decision, though, kind of like the control the Augusta C.C. powers-that-be keep over CBS for the Masters broadcasts. Perhaps Berman thought that if he emceed, it would de-emphasize his presentation speech. Or maybe he feels that since he's part of the show (as Ralph's presenter), he shouldn't also be working for someone else that day. Serving two masters, and all that. If I get a chance to see him out there, I'll try to remember to ask him ... or, since I'll be outside the ropes, maybe I can get one of the guys with credentials to mention it.
  12. Like I said a while back, anyone on the moderating staff could declare victory whenever they feel like it. (Assuming the other mods didn't decide to have some fun with that.) I'm still waiting to hear about the prizes ...
  13. Your fears have been realized. Eisen it is.
  14. Don't look at me -- I won't set foot in that place without calling for backup.
  15. No "yo' momma" junk, or this thread WILL end. Not cool.
  16. Pure silliness. Join the fun!
  17. Believe me, I'd be happy to. Hear them almost every night on the hill behind the house. And as a fellow resident of northcentral Pa., I've never personally seen a big cat in the wild here, but coworkers have. Bears? I mock the Amherst PD for shooting that 150-pounder -- I've shooed bigger ones than that off the front porch.
  18. Not that there's anything wrong with that. +1 on the Letchworth and Ellicottville suggestions.
  19. I noticed that on the list. BTW, try the 250th yet? Little lighter than the original recipe, but still tasty.
  20. From Sports Illustrated's Jim Trotter: Fitzgerald fights complacency by hosting receiver camp in Minnesota
