  1. There is no semantics battle here, just a member of the moderating staff pointing out that it's not your job to decide which opinions are acceptable to post here. (And unless someone crosses a line and violates the TOS, not our job, either.)
  2. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/articl...RTS03/907280312 Another country heard from re: McCargo. Interesting that Sal never mentions the position-coach change; that might have been my first question.
  3. I agree. If he wasn't including Maybin in that statement, he needed to do a better job of clarifying that.
  4. Yup. This is their ... third year in Allentown, I think? Second in the new park. (Eesh. I should know this stuff without looking it up -- I'm covering a local kid who plays for the R-Phils, and we both thought he was going to be up with the IronPigs this season ...)
  5. Yeah. Never thought they'd actually pack up and leave, and I still can't get used to hearing "Gwinnett" on the highlights.
  6. Right -- the Bisons are still there, they just stink.
  7. Well, I thought it was a good joke, anyway. Remember the "Bring Professional Football Back to Buffalo" bumper stickers from the mid-'80s?
  8. Let's go back and reboot your original post: And if you can't see that my disagreement is with the idea that people shouldn't be allowed to express their opinions here, then I'm not the moron in this conversation.
  9. Ya know, it's funny, SJBF. While the CBs were doing their position drills in the corner of the field we were watching, I mentioned to Tim how smooth McKelvin looked as he went through the backpedal-turn-run moves. "A lot smoother than McGee, anyway," I noted. And then he proceeded to stink up the joint when they actually started throwing the ball around. He's young, and I do expect him to still have some ups and downs. I just hope the downs don't come when he's lined up across from Moss ...
  10. No prob. Here's what Tim ended up writing: Observations from first weekend of Bills camp Valid point there at the end. Of course, it's not like any of the other Bills CBs have looked all that great against Randy Moss, either.
  11. He had a rough day. Of course, they were playing off the line on (to my eyes) a majority of the plays, which frustrates me to no end. I thought he wasn't in bad position on the first long completion to T.O. down the left sideline, but Edwards laid the ball in there perfectly. However, there were a couple of other plays where he got beat cleanly. (Aside: I've heard Evans and Owens are both pretty good receivers. When you're watching intrasquad work, there's always the question of whether it was a bad job on one side of the ball, or merely someone making a play on the other.) But while Tim and I were watching that morning practice, the third one was enough to make him say, "McKelvin again. Hmm. Maybe that's who I'm writing about today." And the play during the afternoon session where he ended up on the ground was just ugly. Let's hope it was just a bad day. That possibility does exist.
  12. You could, but it would make equally little sense. Now you're apparently saying that we can't sufficiently educate ourselves on the details of the Vick conviction to form a valid opinion? Or that because we don't have the number for Ralph's private phone at Grosse Pointe Shores, we shouldn't bother expressing said opinion? Again: that's the very reason the Stadium Wall exists, to "foster a healthy exchange of views about the Buffalo Bills."
  13. Well, they no longer have Triple-A baseball in Buffalo, so ...
  14. Yup. With Corner running ahead of him and Lankster impressing early on, how much would the Bills be paying a No. 5 CB? Of course, on the flip side, McKelvin didn't exactly dominate in practice this weekend. His performance made me a little ... well, you know ... nervous.
  15. I understand the need for anonymity; can't be caught in public dissing another team's players. But read this piece by Tim, and then tell me Maybin plays with no "heart": http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-8-2/T...in-emerges.html
  16. You see how the one in my post is shortened with an ellipsisisis. If you try to cut/paste that, you end up with the one in the original post.
  17. Don't bother, because he probably wouldn't tell you anyway.
  18. You mean the busted link? Nah, it's real, from Tim's blog. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-9-62/...-have-him-.html
  19. Here's what he had back in May, Ray: Bills not interested in Vick, but what if they were? Of course, it was just a rhetorical question back then, because Vick was still in custody. Doubt they've changed their opinion since then -- but like he said, you never know ...
  20. To be honest -- he's probably not amused, but I doubt he'd actually take action against Owens for saying that. Maybe a fine, but I doubt it.
  21. Yeah, that title was worth the addition of a subhed. And if it turns into another "inside sources" thread, it'll end up where the other ones did, sleeping with the fishes.
  22. So in other words, nobody but a previous U.S. President has a right to express an opinion on how Obama's doing, because we haven't held that office? Nice "you never played the game" pull, but opinions are what we do here.
