  1. Yeah, that was changed over the weekend. One of our friends gave me an updated roster on Sunday, but I think Harris and fellow LB Ashlee Palmer (61 to 64) were the only notable changes. (Other guys were all practice-squad types.)
  2. You da man, John. Thanks for checking in before heading over to the field. Between the missed OTA's and this, looks like it'll be Whitner/Scott at safety for the immediate future ... which is what I've been expecting anyway.
  3. After? They're supposed to be doing it AT practice. Unless that's what he means, an unveiling ceremony at the end of practice, before the scheduled fireworks show.
  4. Kenny's aware of the situation, and already brainstorming potential solutions.
  5. Correct. Doing it up Buffalo-style both days -- I'm driving in too, with Sahlen's/Weber's, a cooler of Blue, etc. Messrs. Graham and Wawrow are also planning to drop by, although they'll both be pretty busy throughout the weekend.
  6. Surely you jest. This is the Bills we're talking about, after all ...
  7. He and Sam Adams mixed it up during a practice at SJF, the last year they were both here, I think. I asked him about it afterward, and he said, "He likes Big Macs, and I told him Whoppers were better." Funny line and all, but still ...
  8. Damn, John. You were serious when you talked about going through your whiskey supply so you could go buy some Jameson's, weren't you? And HST hisownself would be proud of the "napalm sunset" phrase, I think.
  9. Have to remember that only three of the committee members (Van Miller, Larry Felser, and Milt Northrup) covered him. Even when you add Chuck Pollock and Ed Kilgore for any players from the mid-'70s forward, it's the same with anyone who played prior to the Super Bowl teams: if they're not already up there, they probably won't be. That said, I agree that Byrd's omission is mystifying.
  10. Scroll up eight posts from yours.
  11. I'd suggest trying one of the threads with Byrd's name in the title, like this one: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=92372 ****************************************************************** This subject matter is being currently being discussed or has already been discussed in a previous thread. Please consider using the "search" function before starting new topics. Thank you.
  12. It depends. When they're inside the stadium, the media is on the home sideline; in previous years, I've chatted with a few guys as they wandered by the front of the stands. However, someone as high-profile as King would probably try to steer clear of all the people calling his name from the bleachers ... Over on the grass, they're in between the two fields, but instructed to move behind the end zone nearest the crowd if they take a phone call. That's what the training camp release says, anyway. Of course, if you know them, you might also convince them to wander up into the bleachers and visit for a spell ... (Thanks again, guys.)
  13. Posting this here, too: Per Bills.com text: OL Eric Wood and DB Jairus Byrd have signed. Byrd has been placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list and WR PK Sam has been Waived/Injured.

  15. TicketExchange Not open for business until closer to the start of the season.
  16. Thurm, Not to threadjack -- if we want, this might even be worthy of a thread over in OTW -- but a few thoughts on your post: Heinz was one of our very best, and "Death of a Racehorse" may well be the greatest deadline sports story ever written. My advice? Make Run To Daylight! the next book you read. Here's some neat backstory about that book from "Heavyweight Champion of the Word," an appreciation by SI's Jeff MacGregor (no mere hack himself): An acquaintance -- I'm guessing Tim has also crossed paths with him at quite a few hockey games -- wrote this shortly after Heinz died last year: Gare Joyce -- The cult of 'Death of a Racehorse' Although nobody will ever mistake me for Gare, MacG, or Chris Jones (another great writer, and the guy who started the Red Smith Award petition GJ mentions in the story), I freely admit that I'm also a member of that cult.
  17. No confirmed source from PFT? For what it's worth, Sal Maiorana says there's word that Wood showed up at SJF roughly an hour ago.
  18. Now THAT'S a fan. Congrats! (TicketExchange is your friend -- but put 'em up there before the season begins, just in case the team stumbles coming out of the gate.)
  19. Just so long as they keep the First Family's dog out of sight ...
  20. It is to laugh ... http://boards.buffalobills.com/showthread.php?t=152776
  21. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/news/Sto...?story_id=18048 Dammit. Figured it was bad news when the Eagles named a replacement at DC, but didn't expect anything this soon. R.I.P. to a true innovator of the game.
  22. http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=3077 "Judd" is Judd Zulgad, the Strib's Vikings beat writer. EDIT: Surprise, surprise. Aug. 18: Favre signs with Minnesota, forcing an edit to the title of this thread. Good call, bills44.
  23. I just thought it was unintentionally hilarious that he saw fit to lecture someone who has actually served in a state-level political party on the details of the Constitution, when he doesn't appear to have a firm grasp of them himself. Back to your regularly-scheduled Vick debate.
  24. Ummm ... just checking, but you DO know that the proposed Equal Rights Amendment, which dealt with discrimination based on gender, was never ratified? Perhaps you mean the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment instead.
