  1. Sounds like it was part of the postgame show, and I don't know if 97 Rock archives its Bills stuff. After a quick spin by the homepage, doesn't look like it. (Do appreciate the linkage to TBD in the Bills dropdown menu, though ...)
  2. If not for T.O., the Bills would never have been given that game in the first place. Think they're lighting candles in Bristol, praying that his toe is all right?
  3. Nope. Players' salaries are divided into 17 regular-season game checks (including the bye week); they get a per-diem during preseason, but it's far below what they'll make when the games count: Ticket and concession-stand prices are the same, though. There's your real answer.
  4. Considering that they don't know how much time Cassel is going to miss, I doubt the Chiefs are in a trading mood at the moment. But I'll tell you the same thing I told Sully in his chat on Friday: if the Vikings were inclined to let him go instead of Tarvaris Jackson, I'll take Sage Rosenfels here in Buffalo, right now. Would he make the Bills a playoff team? Doubtful... but at this point, I'd settle for competence.
  5. Tonight's positives: 1.) I had to work, so I haven't had the "pleasure" of watching the game yet. 2.) Every beat writer in the press box had to be thanking the Steelers for keeping the clock running, finishing the game in an impressive 2:35. 3.) .... umm, let me get back to you on that.
  6. Correct. Like I said in the preview, lousy timing.
  7. Interesting note re: Bell to lead off Mark Gaughan's chat this morning: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/200...ive-chat-1.html
  8. http://www.twobillsdrive.com/articles/game...alo_bills_vs_p/ Hey, look, it actually IS gameday.

  10. There was football before Montana, you know. Guy named Unitas was pretty good. And hmm -- Brady may have dinged his shoulder. NFL guys like @mortreport and @Adam_Schefter are all a-Twitter. And there's this: http://patsblog.projo.com/2009/08/pats-redskins-o.html
  11. Yeah, we saw what Eli looked like in the rain and wind at the Ralph. Wasn't pretty. Just think -- if Jason Peters doesn't get hurt and the Bills win that game (a distinct possibility), maybe the Giants lose in Seattle in the first round of the playoffs that year instead of ending up in the Super Bowl.
  12. And that's exactly what they're doing, isn't it? Guarantee that if any of the '83 guys had the current Steelers D on their side -- I'm going through their numbers for the preview right now, and they're un-frickin-believable -- they'd have won a couple of rings long before Terrell Davis arrived in Denver.
  13. Three hours to put up a link to Tim's story? Took them long enough ...
  14. Class of '83 built its reputation on Elway, Marino, and Kelly. Nobody talks much about Blackledge, O'Brien, or Eason -- the other three first-rounders -- anymore ...
  15. Hahahahaha... Talked to Scott Pitoniak the other night. During our chat, when I mentioned that I went to PSU, he immediately replied, "I hope your alma mater takes it easy on mine in football this year." (He, of course, is a proud 'Cuse grad -- in fact, I believe he's in their J-school's Hall of Fame. And FWIW, he likes Paulus. Saw him play in high school. His take: Syracuse will pin hopes on Paulus)
  16. If Tim's got this right (and I have no reason to disbelieve him), this will be pretty big news. One duplicate thread was already started because the poster didn't see it in any of the titles, and I'd like to keep that from becoming a trend. Appreciate your understanding ...
  17. Meh. Allowed ... but everyone else is free to brutally mock them for doing it.
  18. (FWIW, Cat, I added the topic to your subtitle ...)
  19. Bingo. I don't know whether Bell is ready, but I do know that I've seen some ugly plays from Walker so far this preseason. Also, since it doesn't appear anyone has provided the link yet ... Bell evolving into Bills' left tackle of choice
  20. Yep. Back when the team rested starters for the playoffs ... remember the playoffs? Those images are fading ... ...sigh...
  21. A good copy editor is a writer's best friend ... assuming the newspaper still employs any, that is ...
  22. Dunno about that, but only USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Alabama have created more Hall of Famers ...
  23. Pessimism? I prefer "acerbic wit," and I don't let his wicked one-liners ruin my day ...
