  1. Wherever the football was whenever his knee/butt/whatever hit. I'd have to look at the play to be sure, but if his leading foot was the only thing at the 36, then it sounds like they were a little generous on that one as well.
  2. I'd gladly take that bet, because a report was filed. (Witness Scott Berchtold calling it a "police matter.") BuffNews may not have all the reporters they used to, but I'll guarantee that there's still someone working the cops-and-courts desk.
  3. Just a reminder that people can disagree about this topic without being disagreeable. One guy has already crossed that line, and won't be coming back for a while. Hate to see anyone else join him.
  4. He probably would've gotten an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty for daring to question the mighty Patriot dynasty. Kidding aside, it wouldn't surprise me a bit to find out that BB said something to the LJ, just like baseball managers "working" the ump or college basketball coaches taking a deliberate T to get the next few calls in their favor.
  5. Don't know about his plans for Friday, but unfortunately for us, the Bills are the one AFC East team Tim won't be covering this weekend. Pats-Jets intradivision battle Sunday, Fins-Colts on Monday night.
  6. Actually, I checked the rulebook on this, and they're only allowed to be a FOOT behind the line: I have to admit I can't ever remember seeing it called more than once in the same game, though, and someone made the point earlier that the officials ignore it most of the time. Makes me wonder if one Mr. Belichick pointed it out to the line judge, making it a point of emphasis.
  7. It was in there: "This would be the first time in local history that a Pacific coast team played in Buffalo ..." So those Bucs were essentially one of the barnstorming nomads of the late '20s, Ken? Nice work, as always.
  8. Graham weighs in: Isolated stupidity shouldn't paint all Bills fans
  9. Must have missed this: TSW Terms of Service
  10. Depends. Are fans of the rest of the league's teams painting obscenities in their players' front yards? If not, maybe I do want to be a little more like them.
  11. As he continues to check down, teams with better secondaries than New England's -- which gave up the second-most touchdown passes in the league last year, costing all four top CBs their roster spots during the offseason -- will start to play more press coverage on the Bills WRs. Let's hope Evans and Owens can take advantage of that with some double moves; otherwise, this offense will begin to resemble last year's ... and nobody here wants that.
  12. But if you look at the play-by-play stats provided by NFL GSIS, he DIDN'T go downfield on every long passing gain. Not even close. 13. Right, because there was absolutely no reaction on TSW to any of those other incidents. BTW, per Wawrow, the graffiti DID include an obscenity.
  14. Exactly. It's being picked up by the national media. Yeah, not serious at all.
  15. FWIW, No. 100 is Thomas Symonette. And Scott Green's crew is the same one which blew the Polamalu call in last year's Chargers-Steelers game: http://www.daytondailynews.com/blogs/conte...s_refs_adm.html http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3707245
  16. For what it's worth, a few reactions from the national media: Rich Eisen, NFL: "Awful. Apparently, no one circles the front lawn like the Buffalo Bills..."fans"?" Pete Prisco, CBS: "It makes me sick to think some jackass fan vandalized Leodis McKelvin's home. It's a game idiot. Not life or death. And I think I get it bad with some of the comments on the bottom of my columns. nasty people." Charles Robinson, Yahoo!: "Add this fan to Kanye's "jackass" category." So ... get used to hearing about those "classy" Bills fans. Great.
  17. Brad Riter has a screenshot of that play on Facebook. Welker's elbow is on the hashmark at the 26, with everything else behind it. I'll copy what I posted there: From the gamebook: 2-10-BUF 35 (2:38) (No Huddle, Shotgun) T.Brady pass short middle to W.Welker to BUF 25 for 10 yards (R.Corner). For statistic-calculating purposes, the ball would have had to be completely over the hashmark at the 36 for it to be considered first-and-10 at the 35. In that picture, the ball is not completely over the 26, so there's no possible way that completion was good for a full 10 yards. Third down.
  18. The really funny thing about this? Brad Riter has a screenshot of the game up on his Facebook page ... and with the ball roughly a yard from hitting his hands, McKelvin's foot is OUTSIDE the end zone. So, yeah, in that split-second, he obviously should have known whether or not he was okay to kneel down for a touchback.
